I attended my first auction a few months back with great hesitation and i’m completely addicted. I left with a beautiful sideboard that cost me $ 20, I hired their delivery service that they refer, they don’t do delivery in house but the gentlemen were great, they took their shoes off with this huge thing still in their arms! I’ve been back several times and purchased beautiful antique pieces that I have not been able to find anywhere. I love the unique pieces they carry in their consignment shop and make sure to schedule their auctions in my calendar!

It’s totally unfortunate that I can’t give it a better rating even though I frequent it. The staff are few and far between and seem scattered and have little knowledge of their wares. If they get in an estate load; even days later nothing is priced. Speaking of prices; while their web site has oodles of pictures there is little to no info, I have frequently gone there and when asked about said item, the response has twice been, «We sold it yesterday». Hmmm? Still looking at the same pics though days/weeks later. I find their offerings overpriced in comparison to other consignment shops, and finding a reasonably priced object only occasionally. Also, half of that which is on the floor«for sale» is actually for the next auction. It’s very frustrating when one has no desire to attend an auction. They should be putting it in the auction area that is not open to the public until auction day. They have also started a «Storage Wars» type of locker auction. If you like to buy things sight unseen, then have at it. Do NOT use their delivery service. I had the misfortune of using them once. They seem to have no sense of physics and moved a sofa into my house like they were in kindergarten, when a 2-point turn would have sufficed. While MacLeans do not«own» the moving service, they still recommend them. They even BROKE a leg on my sofa and did nothing, at my insistance. I felt they would do more harm than good and had it fixed elsewhere. Both the moving company and Macleans did nothing in way of compensation.
