This location is a comfortable and typical bar/restaurant with delicious wings, burgers, fries, and a good selection of alcoholic beverages. Prices are reasonable and their menu is reasonably priced. As of(roughly) October 2013 this location closed and will be reopening as «Hometown Bar and Grill.»

Local Heroes is Ottawa’s sports bar. Like many pubs and bars in the city(and crap does Ottawa have a LOT of bars) it has a good selection of beers on tap. Individual pints are big city priced(around $ 6) but they do have a few pitcher deals you should check out on the menu. The food features all the pub/bar favourites, like burgers, wings, sandwiches, nachos, etc. They do have this awesome app — it is pita-like flat bread with a real tasty and spicy dipping sauce. It is totally delish! It is nice and hot, but not that hot that you lose the flavour. It is a tough balance to capture and this dish does it well. It is around $ 10, but there is plenty for two people to enjoy. But, like I said, sports is the centre of Local Heroes. They have TVs all over the restaurant broadcasting whatever big games are on. Plus, the restaurant also sells tickets to Sens games. Now THAT is a sports bar! Parking is awesome — they have their own lot. And, the staff is very friendly — they will help you out, but won’t pressure you out the door, if you know what I mean.
