Galerie St-​Laurent + Hill specialises in the exhibition and promotion of contemporary Canadian art.

History

Established in 1977.

Established in May 1977, Galerie St-​Laurent + Hill began with the introduction to the National Capital Region of Québec-​based female artists. The mandate quickly expanded to represent and promote contemporary Canadian art and artists exclusively. The gallery’s first exhibition space was in Wakefield, Québec, moving to Ottawa’s historic Byward Market soon thereafter. Over it’s 38 year history St-​Laurent + Hill has represented and established artists such as Evergon, David Bierk, François Xavier Marange, Leslie Reid, Thrush Holmes, François Vincent, Michael Smith, Tom Hopkins, and James Lahey. In addition to representing established artists, the gallery is actively involved in the career development of emerging artists. With an active exhibition schedule, Galerie St-​Laurent + Hill has also participated in national events such as Montréal’s Papier and Art Toronto, as well as local events like Nuit Blanche Ottawa-​Gatineau.
