Love this smallish, casual eatery. On a summer evening, with the patio open, a boistrous crowd eating and drinking, it’s just a great place. I was there with group of six people. Service was good, and I loved my Chile Relenos. I’m told the even the vegetarian dishes are quite good .(I’m a carnivore.)

I went to Feleenas in the Glebe today. This is my favorite Mexican place to go to. The service is always amazing and the food exceptional. We sat on the patio in 36 degree heat. Our server brought a pitcher of ice water to keep our Coronas cold. If this is not service at its best I don’t know what is!

Eeeew, gross is all I can say. Stopped here because we were really hungry but left shortly after we arrived. Being use to amazing Mexican I was skeptical; but we never even got to the food and I think if anyone could see the kitchen they would leave before eating as well. I had to use the restroom and on the way down got a glimpse of the kitchen. Needless to say when I saw it, there was no way I was eating there. The trip down to the restroom further solidified my decision to leave. Gross. Trash was piled high on the trip down to the restroom. The kitchen sink was filled to the brim with dishes and was filthy. I would never eat here. We left and won’t be back.

Stumbled upon this place on a stroll through the Glebe and am so glad I did! Everything was perfect — the food, the service, the décor. Lots of vegetarian options, which is awesome. Wish I had found this place sooner. Will definitely be back.

My guy and I came here and ordered sangria and the appetizer platter to start — both amazing. In combination with the fast and very friendly service and the patio, I was ready to give this place five stars. Our main courses were good, but not great. I had beef tacos, he had chicken quesidillas, and both were solid, but standard. Nothing special — simplest ingredients. Like the tacos your mom made growing up(so this may be a good option for less adventurous eaters). Although I didn’t like the food as much as Ahora or El Caminos, for example, I’ll probably be returning for the patio, app platter, and sangria with some buds on a summer day.

I ate here the other day and it was an okay experience. Service was great and our server was very nice, friendly, attentive(but not overly so) and quite knowledgeable about the drinks. He was awesome. The food was just okay. Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular. I got the cheese enchiladas which I was slightly disappointed with. I guess I was expecting more than literally just cheese(and nothing else!) in a rolled up tortilla. The sides were okay as well — rice was good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the black beans. We ordered a margarita as well, and I was expecting the traditional frozen/slushy margarita, but instead I got margarita«juice» with a few ice cubes. It was just luke warm. The great thing about this place though was the price — just about everything on the lunch menu was $ 10.00.

This place has the trio of food, atmosphere and service down. The food is delicious(I’ve had the enchilladas and fajitas). When the waiter heard I had only ever tried awful margaritas you get from frozen tubs, he convinced me to try one from their daily-made batch. Needless to say, I am not a big margarita fan! The service is friendly, fast and accommodating. They easily adapted meals to my wheat-free(corn tortillas) and dairy-free diet. The interior is just a lot of fun — each chair is different, everything is painted in bright colours, and there are fun decorations on the walls. All of this combined with very reasonable prices makes this a place I love to suggest for friends and family to meet, eat and drink!

I’ve only been there once, but I will be back many, many times. Margarita’s are delicious, good beers on tap… and then there is the food. Fajitas are delicious — the steak is cooked incredibly well, the veggies are cooked yet crunchy; I couldn’t get enough The enchiladas were a hit, the beans and rice that came with them were spot on. The service was incredible. It must be family owned, because the mother and son were working, along with a group of others that seem quite close and friendly. It was attentive service, without being pushy. Very warm and genuine. The whole point is you should go to this little Mexican place on the corner of Second and Bank. I don’t think you will regret it.

First time at Feleena’s, and after waiting in line for about 15 – 20 minutes, we were seated in the most awkward spot, next to the partition in the middle of the room. Servers passed by me quickly throughout the meal, and I was afraid that if I moved an inch or two in the wrong direction I would get swiped. A large table of people were seated behind us, drunk and rowdy, and we could barely hear each other talk. The place was busy for dinner and we only saw the waitress a couple of times to clear our plates and give us our bill. We split the appetizer platter to start. It came with taquitos, flautas, and cheese quesadillas, a bit of corn salsa, and mild salsa, salsa verde, sour cream, and guacamole. Quite a bit of food, but not very flavorful without the sauces. I ordered the Mexican Combo with a chicken enchilada and tamale with potatoes and vegetables. The roast potatoes were good, the vegetables just steamed and unseasoned. I enjoyed the simple corn salsa, which actually didn’t have any dressing but had a very fresh flavor left raw. The chicken breast in the enchilada was overcooked and dry, but the sauce helped. My favorite was probably the tamale, which was very moist and tasted better with the sauce as well. Overall, our food and experience were OK. I was a little disappointed, considering the reviews I read/recommendations I received from others. I’ve been to better Mexican restaurants in the city.

I would really like to say something good about this restaurant but I can’t. I moved here recently from Atlanta, GA where all you have is killer Mexican food, I mean this place brought out what looked like Tostitos with shredded cheese. Do yourself a flavor if you want anything close to real Mexican go to Ahora or hell Taco Bell! Sorry guys.

The location and cute interior are the biggest draws for Feleena’s. The food is solid(but not inspired). Our waiter was great — very attentive and kind. Would I return: The location is right, so I may — but I’m not likely to go out of my way to go here. Would I recommend: Maybe. There are so many choices in the Glebe area, this would probably be low on my list of places to send someone, however, it would depend on what the person is looking for.

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Ottawa! Love their Club Burrito! Try it with their verde sauce, you’re welcome! Their dobladas con pollo is a must try as well! It’s nice to have lunch in their outdoor patio as it’s located along bank st. in the heart of the glebe neighbourhood. The servers here are really nice but can be over-whelming sometimes. Great times never-the-less!

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I enjoyed myself here thoroughly. The food was very tasty, I ordered the taco salad and it was great. The taco bowl tasted really good, and there was lot of chicken and the dish was seasoned really well. I also got a deep fried ice cream that I loved. The crunchy bater was to die for. My only complaints would be that the service was meh, and there was a lot of wasps on the patio.

Returning to Feleena’s again in better weather, we sat on the patio. The single server here dealt with an annoying family group beside us with considerable aplomb: they not only sent food back to the kitchen to be de-spiced but requested special off the menu drinks and tried to monopolize all her time. To her credit, service didn’t suffer but it was an off-night in the kitchen. Beans and rice were dry and lacking in flavour and the enchiladas had a re-heated texture. Serving sizes were positively frugal. Credit card payments are dealt with inside at an old wooden serving cabinet where you have to wait for your server. I guess this is friendly«cantina» style, but it made for an annoying delay.

The food is absolutely vile. There is no flavor whatsoever in the meals prepared. The food is highly over priced for what was served on our plate. The restaurant was uncomfortable, it was dirty, aweful smell of toxic mold oozing from the kitchen area going downstairs to the bathrooms. While making my way downstairs to the bathroom, I overheard the ktchen staff saying«Well it just fell(food) on the floor for 10 second, it’s ok to use it(food). Its just a 10 second rule». Im glad i heard that after I ate. Absolutely no hygene in that kitchen. Moldy smell all over the place. Specially in the Glebe where everything is so damned pretentious(restaurants, boutiques. you name it and overly priced). These people at this restaurant have suffered a flavor and freshness lobotomy. I do not recommend this place to anyone, not even for a dog to eat there. And we took our friends advice to go to that dumpster of a restaurant and we regret it. I DON’T RECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYONE; GOATYOUROWNRISKANDWASTEYOURMONEYIFYOUWANTTO.

Feleena’s used to be my favourite Mexican restaurant in Ottawa until I tried Agave in Westboro… and then Pancho Villa on Elgin. So really — it was good until I actually had some of the other great options in the city. Space is sometimes limited here, especially in the winter or when the patio isn’t in use. I’ve waited quite a while here before only to be seated and then told that we can’t actually sit where they were about to seat us so my small group camped out near the bar instead. Their chimichangas are OK but again, I’ve had better. I do find that their drinks are quite strong(which… *ahem*… I actually enjoy!). In the summer they have the best patio in the Glebe and perhaps of anywhere on Bank Street north of the Rideau River. I tried their chocolate brownie when I went with an amigo the last time and I’m not sure if they always offer it or even if it was made there but it’s phenominal.

Finding good Mexican food in Ottawa is about as easy as finding a moose in Mexico City. I hate to play the naysayer to the glowing reviews but Feelena’s food is mediocre and expensive. The patio is nice but the overpriced, poor quality sangria doesn’t exactly invite one to want to spend much time on it. Though the place bills itself as a «taste of old Mexico,» like most Mexican restaurants around here, it’s really«a taste of Tex-Mex,» with horrible concoctions like the chimichanga(you know the Texan innovation on the burrito — stick it in a deep-fryer) littering the menu. The only passable Mexican food I’ve had in Ottawa is Ahora. And if I needed any further incentives not to want to go back there, their new«electronic menu» displayed on Bank proudly boasts a photograph of Stephen Harper eating there. Ugh.

Feleena’s has one of my favourite patios in the Glebe and their food is 5x better than the bland fare they serve at Mexicali Rosa’s down the street. Their menu features many traditional Mexican dishes, plus some of the usual stuff like nachos. There has only been one time when I didn’t love my meal here and it was when they vegetarianized a quesadilla for me, but forgot to add much of anything other than some green and red peppers. Otherwise, everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious. The indoor décor and ambiance is very cozy, but honestly I only come once the patio opens up. My favourite experience at Feleena’s is a bowl of their amazing guacamole, chips and a carafe of sangria on a warm summer evening with a friend.
