Patenaude’s Ottawa Martial Arts has been offering martial arts classes for children, self-​defense classes for adults, mixed martial arts, and grappling classes since 1979. Family owned and operated, come see for yourself what we have to offer. Established in 1979, This school was originally started by its founder, Sijo Jacques Patenaude and his wife Linda.

The practice of martial arts is supposed to build your confidence, give you direction and maturity, as well as life lessons you can use in every day life. Martial arts is not a hobby or a sideline for the Patenaude family, it is a way of life.

As soon as you walk through the doors of a Patenaude Martial Arts School you’ll feel the family atmosphere and how your goals, and most importantly, reaching them is our # 1 priority.

Sijo Jacques Patenaude and his wife Linda are the founders of Fang Shen Do, an art modelled after the teachings of legendary martial artist: Bruce Lee.

Their mission is to help improve their student’s lives by giving them an environment that is friendly and a place where they can challenge themselves.

Personal attention is given to each and every student to make sure everyone has a great experience learning martial arts.
