I have never been a fan of Cora however I was staying at a hotel close by and was DYING for eggs benedict so my boyfriend and I decided to try them. Meh… The staff was delightful. In a good mood and very pleasant however everything after that is mediocre. We were seated right beside the entrance door so every time someone would walk in, we were blasted with the winter cold air. Our table was also right beside the cash meaning if there was a line-up to pay, we had a line up of people’s bums in our face as we attempted to enjoy our cold breakfast sausages and undercooked eggs. If ever you’re in the area, go to a Tim’s instead. You’d be happier with a bagel and coffee for $ 7 rather than dropping $ 30 for 2 and being utterly disappointed.

I wish I could give this place a zero. Horrible food. Eggs and sausages under cooked, bread was cold with half a ton of butter on it. Yes, they screwed up toast. That’s how bad this location is. Not to mention watered down syrup that tasted stale. Disgusting. Never again. Capital diner 5 mins away 100000% better and half the price!

I loved many things about this place, my biggest problem is consistency. They said that the homefries are gluten free, but the ones at other Cora’s are not. So either they have different potatoes or they weren’t well informed. That made me feel a little uneasy. Overall, the food was pretty good. I came in here alone after being early for work. I got the feeling that my being alone wasn’t desirable, I made sure to take up as little space as possible. Besides this, the service was decent. The food was decent as well. I like their gluten free toast, it was great! All in all, I don’t know if I would go back, but if I do I’ll update!

We went here previously and the service was terrible. However, we thought we would give the place another go as it is the closest breakfast joint to where we live. Went here for brunch on October 26, 2014 and had the same server as last time. I had the Joe Construction while my girlfriend had a spinach & cheese omelette. The food was hot, tasty, and came as ordered. Service was a little slow & the server did not come around post-dropping-food-off(I desperately needed water). Other than that no complaints! We will be having brunch here again, hopefully the service will improve :)

Cora’s is an ok place to have breakfast, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. Menus were gross(covered in greasy film — you can tell a lot regarding a restaurant by how clean the menus are), the table was sticky from not being wiped off properly, my spoon and coffee were dirty. I know they get super busy because they are close to Rideau Centre and Byward Market, but they close after lunch. Tons of time to clean the place up. Went once and will never go again. There are much better places to have breakfast all over the city.

We stopped in for breakfast on our way to Byward Market and it definitely kept us full until our next meal. I loved the strawberry waffle because the strawberries were fresh. The blueberry pancakes were yummy too. The only thing we didn’t seem to be a fan of was the sausage, but the rest of Cora’s special was delicious. The service we received was pretty good but it wasn’t super busy.

When you need a light meal, sort of a brunch, with lots of fruit, you can’t go wrong with Cora. They have omelettes, waffles and paninis. The fruit that goes along is always fresh and they have grey variety. All the severs were nice and bilingual. We definitely recommend it for tourists visiting the nation’s capital.

It’s pretty basic. Good food. Lots of fruit :) but the service here is great. Very friendly staff all around. But Luc, best service ever. Remembers orders without writing it down. I’m with a group of 20! No issues, no mistakes perfect. Great place for a good morning breakfast if you like Cora’s.

Had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The presentation of the fruit was nice. The eggs Benedict was ok; the lukewarm Hollandaise really brought down the quality. Did appreciate the generous amount of salmon, and the fresh fruit. The pan-fried potatoes were good. The coffee tasted burnt. The décor is a little strange. It’s very colourful… lots of clashing oranges and yellows. Funny pictures of fruits and foods on the wall. Probably suits young kids, but it might feel childish if you’re not with a child.

Wait staff(most of them) don’t give a hoot/looked like they hated their lives, no smiles and they ignore you. Waitress I had was great but it took someone 10mins before they came to the table or even said anything to me. Ordered a Cappuccino, it was pretty below average for what I was expecting for the amount paid. Beans were sour or maybe slightly burnt? Didn’t taste much like a cap. And also the Yoghurt harvest crunch w/strawberries was ok, I mean, it’s a hard dish to stuff up something like that. Only problem? Yoghurt was watery, like it had been sitting there too long. Hope your experience is better than mine.

Great service, seated right away, ordered coffee and was served very quickly. Very nice atmosphere, oldies music playing :) I ordered the ham and swiss omelette in a crêpe, food was very tasty. Very filling. Fruit was fresh and tasty.

As much as I want to love Cora’s, their level of customer service just reminds me why I can’t. I also agree with @Coy W.‘s review in that the service is really inconsistent all over the map. I’ve been to the one at Blue Jays Way in Toronto and it was pretty good. I’ve been to the one at Markham Road and it was meh… and now I’ve been to this location and it’s fallen totally flat for me. It took our waitress about 10 minutes to finally acknowledge us and just get us a glass of water. She took our orders and had the food out in a decent time. I ordered the Samira Wake Up plate with cheese to share with a friend. The strawberries were not fresh at all and they were starting to rot on the side that was facing down on the plate. I did not eat them. For $ 1, I only got two small slices of brie… a little lame, but its okay. The other fruits were sweet and ripe. The grapes were crunchy and sweet– just how I like them. I also had the blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs. I do enjoy the blueberry pancakes here, but that was about it. After waiting way too long for our waitress on numerous occasions, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location.

I went there once and I will never go back again. I ordered some Egg Benedict and it did not taste that good. Even if I am not a masterchef presentator, I knew he have done it better. Thus it’s expensive for nothing… 21 bucks for a breakfast? I regretted why I didn’t go to Tims that morning.

Can we please open one of these in the Pacific Northwest?! The fresh fruit was piled high and the place had the most refreshing and unusual breakfast menu I have ever seen! Loved it! Great service!

This is the worst Cora’s I’ve ever been to in my life. My boyfriend and I made the mistake of coming here instead of Dunn’s or Zak’s for breakfast. We were seated pretty quick but our server took an extremely long time to come take our order. I ordered a chocolate milk and my boyfriend just got water and those took a really long time too. I decided on a breakfast plate, I can’t remember what it was called, it had your typical eggs, bacon, hash browns, a crêpe etc. My boyfriend ordered some ham wrap thing. I remember Cora’s to be delicious, huge portions from when I visited in Halifax. This was completely the opposite. My plate was pathetic, you could see the bottom of the plate way more than you should be able to for something so expensive. I literally got 5 hash browns. Five. 2 of which were so burnt I couldn’t eat them. The bacon was fine, but it was also a pathetically small portion, same with the eggs. The crêpe was a joke, it was just a plain crêpe and they didn’t give me syrup or anything for it. The server didn’t come around once to see if we needed anything so I didn’t even get to ask for it, he was also nowhere to be found. The amount of fruit I got was also pathetic and get this… NOT fresh, at Cora’s? Give me a break! The fruit is a great touch to the meal and it is ALWAYS fresh, grapes were mushy, cantaloupe wasn’t ripe, it was all dry too like it was sitting somewhere for a long time. My boyfriend’s wrap was puny too, he didn’t finish it and he is hands down the least picky eater I’ve ever met in my life. The prices were also extremely steep, I think it was $ 30 for ours. We left hungry. We went across the street and got Shawarma. Never again.

I’m always baffled by how inconsistent Cora’s throughout Canada is. I mean it’s breakfast, the easiest meal of the day to cook. I’ve tried it in MTL and it’s always been really good, I’ve tried it in TO and it’s ok, the one Niagara Falls is terrible. This Ottawa Cora’s is ok. Like most other Cora’s you get a side of breakfast with the fruit that comes! The prices are reasonable and the portions large. The staff here is pretty nice as well. If you’re looking for a breakfast without breaking the bank in the Market, your options are limited but this place is a good start.

Cora’s has a nice menu providing sweet and savory options, but all the breakfasts are quite large and generally start at about $ 10. I ordered a coffee, orange juice, and Oatmeal. The food was very good, but the portions were much too large on the oatmeal — think giant mixing bowl full. I highly recommend the OJ, though.

The #1 thing I appreciate about Cora’s is that most, if not all, of their dishes come with fresh fruit. The #1 thing I don’t appreciate is the waiting time. The line, especially on the weekends, usually loops around the entire waiting area inside the restaurant and goes all the way out the door. When you’re finally seated though, it’s a pretty fantastic breakfast. My favourite here is the Eggs Ben et Dictine, which has the standard English muffin, poached eggs(2), and Hollandaise sauce, but also has asparagus and cheese. I’m not sure about their specific cheese choice, though, as some friends of mine have received brie with their order, and others have had Swiss. I honestly can’t remember which one I had at this location, but it was tasty nonetheless. It comes with roasted potatoes and a variety of fresh fruit, and I opted for some bacon on the side because. well, I love bacon. I can’t complain about anything! The eggs were poached well, the potatoes weren’t greasy, the bacon was crispy, and the fruit was actually fresh. The service was fairly fast once we were seated, even though the restaurant was extremely busy. They offer a pretty good selection of breakfast/brunch items, including eggs, bagels, crepes, waffles, french toast, fresh fruit, cottage cheese, and yogurt. Their lunch items include paninis, wraps, soups, and salads. I find Cora’s to be much more expensive than your usual breakfast places, but the quality also seems to be higher.
