Connie’s Custom Tailoring

I wish i could give zero stars.
This was the worst service I have ever received in the city of Ottawa. The owners of Connie’s Custom Tailoring should be careful who they hire. The first time I called the tailor, I spoke to a polite woman that told me to come in and discuss the wedding dress alteration in person. The next day, I walked into the store, to see a balding man on the sewing machine. There was no greeting. We politely asked him to take a look at the wedding dress and without even looking up he said ‘put it on’. We then proceeded to request a female tailor to help with the fitting, but he just kept repeating ‘put it on!!’. We then asked when a female tailor would be available for a fitting, then he said ‘Monday’. I told him «Thank you for your time, we will not be coming back’. The man then started to swear at us, calling us ‘fuckin bitches’ and ‘get off his property’, and we left. We felt threatened and feared for our safety so we left the confined store.
This same report will be given to the better business bureau and the human rights commission for discrimination.
This is my first Unilocal review, because there I have no way of communicating with the owners. I tried calling and was greeted on the phone by the same monster that disrespected us. He’s since been calling me privately and hanging up.

My wife’s sister is getting married in Seattle this winter and my wife is the matron of honor (ha, matron!). Because we are so far away from the wedding location, my wife has to get her dress made remotely. My wife had to get measured and send the measurements to the dressmaker in the states. How do you get your measurements taken by someone competent? I would measure her, but I would spend the whole time cupping her boobies! Anyhow, a friend recommended Connie’s at Billings Bridge Mall. It is a tough place to find — it is upstairs, at the food court but down past the hair salon and along a long, bendy corridor. Anyhow, once there you will find a really professional tailor. You won’t always need tailoring, but when you do, don’t get some teenager at the local clothing store to measure you up. Go to the pro — Connie’s.
