OMG, we went there for lunch 4 days ago at the Orleans location, and it was so disappointing, that I made a point of looking for somewhere to post a review on the service and the food. We were three people and ordered the smoked meat plate, curried meatballs and Philly Steak sandwich. The person who ordered the smoked meat plate found it to be all right. The curried meatballs were tasteless — a chore to get through. The Philly Steak sandwich was a handful of beef BITS — dry hard meat on a bun with a little bit of lightly sautéed onions, mushrooms and peppers, topped with melted cheese and a couple of slices of banana peppers. Now, the waiter deposited our plates, came back 2 minutes later to ask if everything was fine. I had just taken a small slice of my Philly steak sandwich — saw the beef bits, but wrongly assumed they were just some shaving off the main slices. So at that point, I said everything was fine. However, as I kept eating more of my sandwich — searching for the thin slices of beef that Philly sandwiches are famous for, I finally gave up searching and stopped eating at the mid-point of my sandwich. By then, the waiter had«disappeared» and then only re-appeared to clear our plates. When he asked again if everything was to our liking, I said amiably that I had a problem with the Cook’s interpretation of a Philly steak sandwich. And he said(get this!): Oh those ARE thin slices of beef; it’s just that they get like that when they’re sautéed in the pan(!!!). I then asked, have you ever seen a Philly steak sandwich? He weakly said yes, so I pointed to my friend’s leftover smoked meat sandwich and said that the Philly steak should have looked more like that. I further pointed out that if you continue to overlook tiny bits of steak, all you end up with are dry hard pieces of meat. He just repeated that that was their version of it. I was so flabbergasted by the lame/illogical response the waiter gave and said to my friends, later in private, do we look that stupid that we would swallow such an explanation? Then another possibility set in at that point that I sincerely hope I’m wrong about — we are all in our sixties and I wondered if we were just being dismissed by a young server as being just a bunch inconsequential old folks. Go there for the drinks and be wary of the food and service is all I’m saying. Shame on that server and cook!

To be honest ive only ever had the breakfast here. Breakfast selection is pretty standard and includes the usual 2 egg breakfast and omlettes among other breakfast choices. Pricing is reasonable. Food portions were good and the eggs were made ok and not burnt. The home fries were a bit too greasy for my liking but better nonetheless once you’ve dabbed the excess grease off of them. Service was friendly and usually prompt however one has to consider that the restaurant wasnt all that busy at the time. Be careful when reading breakfast combos listed at the very top of the menu, it’s either 3 or 4. Basically it’s a large platter of only homefries, toast, and your choice of meat such as sausage, bacon, or ham, NO eggs come with it so unless you like that type of breakfast with no eggs, be careful reading the choices to avoid accidentally ordering it. Overall it’s a decent place for breakfast. Service is prompt, price is reasonable, and the food is good. Great Place for families during the day but keep in mind that it does have a bar side to it that’s not very separate from the main dining area. Other menu choices that I can think of include sandwiches and burgers.
