The phở was fine. The service was crap. Nough said

Always a go-to in my family. I do both dine in and takeout fairly often and the staff are very friendly. I can always leave there satisfied with my food. I usually stick with the same few dishes and really enjoy the summer rolls, Phở rare beef soup, and a variety of their vermicelli dishes. Always fast and reliable service, and so it’s perfect for a quick bite.

Hot and sour soup tasted very tomatoey. Fried tofu dish rushed, tofu did not take on flavour of dish. Avoid this place.

I have eaten here many times over the years since BVR opened. The menu is extensive, the food is very good and the service also very good. Portions are large. For a treat try the quail.

If you are familiar /fond of Vietnamese food avoid at all costs. The hot and sour soup was a mysterious ketchupy blend. Spring rolls appear to be store bought. I ordered Phở for my main course and was very disappointed. It appeared that the noodles had been pre cooked hours earlier and were a soggy sorry mess. The rare beef was not rare … it was grey and tasted off. The broth was sort of just salty … no real beef flavor … because of the aforementioned grey nastiness.

Popped in here while visiting family nearby. This was a great lunch option, and especially speedy, which was appreciated, as I was starving when I walked in! Service is friendly, and it seems to be a favourite for the locals. Will return again!

Great family run Vietnamese eatery in this corner of Barrhaven. Service is always friendly and efficient. Love the food, it is inexpensive, always well prepared, and they use the freshest ingredients from the local market. The shrimp rice wraps are some of the best in town, and certainly the cheapest. The Phở noodles are prepared with a savoury broth and with fresh vegetables that are crunchy, a nice contrast to the other toppings. The only drawback, if it is that, is they don’t have an extensive dessert menu. However, as family dining goes, it is hugely popular and they do a really good job.

I judge a Vietnamese restaurant based on their Phở soup. Totally unimpressed and the«beef» was actually pork. Go figure!

Huge menu ! Just as delicious and with prices that are competitive with some chinatown restaurants. Clean inside, friendly staff. Very good option for barrhaven residents if you don’t want to go to chinatown for good vietnamese food.

Fantastic food. I’ve been buying Vietnamese food here since I moved to Barrhaven years ago and it is great food. The only reason I am not giving this a 5 out of 5 is the service — slow and not very good. The service has been terrible since it opened which is why I only get take-out. That being said, their food is the best Vietnamese food in the west end!

It’s our favourite Vietnamese place in south-end Ottawa. We always get good service, portions are good, food always seems fresh. Love the roll-ups.

Excellent food, service good. What sets this apart from the other takeout Asian food is the quality of the beef and the sauces. Everything tastes fresh and nutritious. The soup and spring rolls make excellent starters, or the soup can be a meal in itself. Be careful not to order too much and think about sharing. The place is nice and spacious so there is always room to sit down, but be warned that some customers bring babies. Takeout is popular too, but then you have to put the sauce on yourself which can be messy at home.

Yum! Fresh, Tasty, Vegan and Vegetarian-friendly, Yet also Omnivorous. This is the place to take your date your momma your dad or stepdad your good friend who’s just visiting from the States. not so great: It’s way out in the suburbs of Nepean. On the plus side, it’s worth the visit — especially especially if you’re actually already in Nepean. Prices are fair/reasonable. Decent value indeed. Would I go back? In half a blink of an eye — YES. a) decent selection of veg and non veg foods(I enjoy order V05: it includes 3 of their tasty small spring rolls, and rice noodles, and very flavourful fake chicken); b) I never, ever, got the runs from eating there, and I’ve been there MANY times; c) prices are good. and Washrooms are clean.

Great lunch specials. Very reasonably priced, good portion sizes, very tastey.
