Initially I didnt want to come due to the lacklustre reviews, but I’m glad we did. Our waiter did a fantastic job and we tipped well. The pizza was very nice(gotta love thin crust and prosciutto) and the cocktail menu is fabulous… they taste as good as they sound. I highly recommend the champagne cocktails — live a little! Now they don’t offer daily specials(fingers crossed that they do at some point) but there’s a nice variety of apps available that should cater to most tastes. We passed on the bruschetta for this time and ordered the breaded calamari which came out crispy, light and freshtasting(not oily or rubbery), served with a mayo aïoli. Personally, we prefer the cocktail seafood sauce but it’s nice to have a change and I’m sure the sauce is avaliable if you just ask. With that said, I wouldn’t recommend the minestrone nor the pastas. Our table ordered the meatballs and spaghetti and another cream-based pasta(I’ve forgotten the name) and in my opinion, this is not fresh made pasta… possibly store bought. The meatballs and sauce were nice on their own so there’s certainly hope for the pasta department. Oh well, the coffee pannacotta dessert made up for it. I would still like to go back for more pizza and finish it off with shots of grappa. If I pass out from«a drunken stupor» no worries cuz their booths are comfy enough to sleep in. Buon appetito, Barrhaven!

Good, attentive service from beginning to end. I got the charcuterie as an appetizer, several glasses of wine, and tiramisu to cap off the meal. The waitress was good about making suggestions along the way and pairing wine with my choices. I also grabbed a sausage/mozzarella pizza on my way out. It was good, but I feel like it could’ve been great if I’d eaten it fresh. Overall, Angelucci’s is a decent place, but it could use a slightly bigger dessert selection. Given the wide selection of choices on the rest of the menu, I feel like that part could use a little work.

Local spot in the hood. Love it. Service is always good. Food is great love the meatballs and they sell wine by the ounce!

Came here for the first time last night with my boyfriend and wasn’t overly impressed. We both tried a pasta dish that wasn’t anything exciting, mine particularly was under seasoned and was something I felt I could have made at home. The service was alright, although in the end we were waiting to pay our bill for a good half hour before deciding to head inside and pay at the bar. I must say the décor and atmosphere was quite nice, but of the 2 dishes we were served we were expecting a bit more.

Ate with the whole family once the pizza was a thin style with some Italian style deli meats. Calamari was ok but not great. Fancy pizza oven looked cool. Overall it was very underwhelming for the price and we have not returned and would not likely return.

I’ve only been here a few times since it opened. Our party of four stopped by here for lunch a couple weeks after it’s grand opening. We weren’t particularly in the mood for anything big, so we ordered the Polpette al Forno, Buffalo mozzarella on toast, Angelucci pizza, and cheesecake for sharing. The five large house-made meatballs were really tasty, made from veal and pork, served with delicious marinara sauce and topped with parmesan. I’m not sure if they still serve the Buffalo mozzarella appetizer, since I don’t see it listed on the online menu by itself anymore, but it was a little bit too watery. The pizza was good — very thin and also tasty, but there was just a huge piece of proscuitto that was just thrown on top and kept falling off and made it difficult to eat. I wouldn’t pick up the pizza, as it is extremely thin in the middle and will fall apart. If you don’t eat it quick enough, the tomato sauce will soak all the way through and make it soggier than you would probably like to eat. The vanilla cheesecake was good, with strawberry coulis and half of a fresh strawberry on top, though quite standard. The second time we tried Angelucci’s was for dinner. I had some type of seafood pasta with house-made linguini or fettuccini. I don’t think is on the menu anymore either, which is too bad because I really enjoyed it. It had scallops, shrimp, and sundried tomatoes in a white sauce that wasn’t too thick. The portion was generous without being wasteful. We also ordered a pitcher of white sangria, which was light and refereshing, citrus and fruity but not too sweet, almost exactly like the one at The Grand, it’s sister restaurant. Also $ 20 for the pitcher. Quite a good meal, but not for those on a budget. Service was pretty pathetic — about five waiters behind us all chatting, and we still had to wait to order and refill our waters. The last time we came for steak and eggs, which was close to $ 30 a person with taxes. It came with a NY strip steak, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, homefries, and a few pieces of fruit. I called the waitress back to ask for the Hollandaise, which she told me was extra even though it said it was included on the menu. She actually disagreed with me a couple of times before going back to check with the kitchen, where they obviously pointed out the item on the menu. She came back with a few Hollandaise sauces on the side and said«Oh, I guess it IS included», and trotted off. The steak was salty and tough to chew with all of the cartilage, but the meat itself was fine. The eggs were poached nicely, though tasted a bit of vinegar. The homefries were oddly powdery and didn’t taste like much, not my favorite. We did ask for hot sauce and they brought us some of their house recipe, which was really flavorful and spicy. I have mixed feelings about Angelucci’s — some of the food is great, some is not very good at all. I can say that I feel the service has been consistently poor, as they seem to overstaff a slow restaurant and yet we’ve never had great service. I find the prices to be high, considering the quality of our overall experience. I’ve been told it’s really only worth going for the Barr Hour for bites and drinks, so maybe we’ll give that a shot. With Heart and Crown now open just down the street, they’ll have to step up their food game with more affordable pricing to compete.

Came here with my boyfriend, his brother and our niece. The décor is very nice, outdoors on the patio there are these cute triangular fire places. Inside is relatively dark but very homey. I only ordered an appetizer, the eggplant parm. I was disappointed to see that they didn’t have this as an entrée as I was really craving eggplant. It was very good. Eggplant was perfectly cooked, the sauce was great and the dish was nice and cheesy. It was about 13 for the small dish. Our niece had the pepperoni kids meal. The pizza was HUGE! Way too much for a 5 year old, but she loved it. She kept saying it was«real pizza» very cute. Her dad had the shrimp ravioli, about 17 dollars. He LOVED it and was stuffed after. My boyfriend had the carne pizza 17 dollars, with various meats such as sausage and pepperoni. It was big as well but he ate it all. The. Food was good but my main compliment goes out to our waitress. She was so sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. I think I’ll go back purely because of the great service

This was our second visit(previously went in May) and we had hoped the restaurant had overcome some of their opening month issues. Unfortunately it would seem that overall not much had improved. Food was not very good, pizza crust is all soggy in the middle and a slice can’t be picked up without all the topping sliding off. Pasta dishes are OK at best and the kids pasta came out overdone, hard from sitting under the heat lights and even though we’d ask to just have butter on it it was covered in cheese sprinkles. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and that was really the only highlight of the meal. We had hoped that given the other restaurants owned by this company we’d be getting a decent one out in Barrhaven, however, this is sadly not the case. Sadly another poor restaurant we will not be going to again.

We had spotted this new Italian place in our nieghbourhood recently and when we started hearing positives from neighbours we decided to give it a try. Food was excellent and service was very good to excellent. Staff are courteous and attentive. When you first arrive in the restaurant you are immediately struck by the volume level. This is a family restaurant first and foremost I there are wall to wall kids. The chairs are kind of uncomfortable but there is bench seating as well. Definitely will return

Décor is really cute compared to other Barrhaven places. Fresh looking inside and out. Prices are a bit high compared to other breakfast places… $ 7.49 for two eggs, etc. And coffee is an extra $ 2 or so which was not listed or mentioned. Nice glass of ice water when we sat down. Friendly service — we got several coffee refills without asking so that is alway good. Eggs were good poached. I chose ham and it was thin & grilled nicely — not a chunky ham slice. Toast was unbuttered without me asking for that. I did find that a bit odd. Hashbrowns were deep fried and tossed in parmesan, but no other seasoning which would have been better I think. Overall it was good, I am glad to have an option other than Broadway’s, but would not come here too often as our bill for two was about $ 30 for mine, my boyfriend’s eggs Benedict, and two coffees. I recommend they lower the prices a bit to compete with other places, but I would come back.

To begins with, «I have a restaurant with a wood burning oven around the down the street from my house.»… Wheeeeeee!!! I apologize for that girly scream, but I’ve been waiting for barrhavem to get something like this for years. Let’s start with the restaurant itself. The restaurant was very nicely laid out had good colour choices and was well decorated. The serving staff, while being young were well mannered, personable and well attentive. It was a Friday night and I think they had lots of staff. We asked the waiter if Angelucci’s was a chain and he told us that it was owned by the guys who own the Grand and the Empire Grill. The food was excellent. My wife had a scallop fettuccine, which she felt was the best pasta she’d had in a while. The pasta was freshly made, and she said the scallops were cooked perfectly. My daughters had the Pecuri pizza(goat cheese, sum dried tomatoes and arugula). I had the Carne pizza(sausage, ham, salami and prosciutto), so good. Everything was piping hot as it should be. Which was excellent, cause I hate when my food isn’t hot enough. The beer options were great. None of the regular old Blue, Bud and Canadian. kitchissippi, Kronenbourg and Guinness. The bar looked nice. My wife and I will be back just to sit and have a beer. Cons: Loud. Granted, it was a Friday night, the restaurant was full and we were seated next to a family that I swear had 60 people seated at the table(OK maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but there were definitely more than ten). We’ll see what a weekday looks like. Chairs. Dining room chairs leave a lot to be desired. Not the most comfortable and slightly too low. My knees kinda hurt when I got up. All in all a good meal and a good restaurant. We will be back.

This is a new restaurant in my corner of Barrhaven, and the only Italian for miles around. The ambience is low level lighting, and the place has a separate bar section and a restaurant. Décor is nicely laid out. And those are the pluses. Food wise, I ordered a bruschetta and a spaghetti with veal/pork meatballs. The bruschetta was prepared on fresh and crusty bread with cherry tomatoes, basil, cheese and some olive oil spray. The problem was how it was prepared; the slices of bread were too large to eat by hand(I tried, the first one fell apart all over the table), and too unwieldy to eat with a knife and fork — all the fresh ingredients fell apart on the plate. However, if you could eat them all, it was quite tasty. The spaghetti was a near disaster. It arrived steaming hot(and I mean, waves of steam hitting your face which made it not prudent to eat it immediately). The meatballs were large and unfortunately dry. The noodles tasted like they were cooked from the box, and also unfortunately too dry for lack of sauce. The result was a congealed and barely edible mess. I think the meatballs might have tasted a lot better if there had been more sauce, and the plate less boiling hot. For any Italian restaurant not able to get simple basics right, is not a good sign. And it just opened its doors! Service was average; the hostess forgot to notify a waiter to serve me, and I had to wait quite a bit before even a glass of water was poured. Once service began, it was average depending who came to the table. No one offered to solicit my opinion of the food, I had to ask for the ground pepper, and no one seemed to understand some simple basics of waitering; e.g. replace the utensils if you take them away? Other than that, they were all quite friendly, which is a plus I suppose. I don’t think this will be a good choice unless you really have a hankering for Italian you can’t cook and won’t drive to Little Italy to get.
