The best groomer in Toronto I’ve found yet!
Let me first explain my unique furball.
She’s a 5-​pounder named Malik, as you already know if you read my reviews. ANYWAY she’s a crazy mix of Chihuahua and Yorkshire Terrier. This means if we let it, her fur/​hair would grow to the ground. Except it’s a bit wiry… that’s the Chi in her. She gets QUITE scruffy.
(As a sidenote, some people have taken to calling this «designer» mix a Chorkie, Yorkihuahua, or Yorkie-​Chi. My SO and I refuse, absolutely, to do anything of the sort. Making stupid words like that up is absolute ridicularity.)
She came from a puppy mill in the southern U.S., where she was a breeding dog for 2 ½ years and was abused. Needless to say, she’s still a bit wary of strangers.
Surprisingly, Malik was still calm and comfortable when we got to the shop (which, for many, may be quite the epic journey to complete from the centre of the city). The space is small and cozy on the inside, the atmosphere warm and inviting. The staff are the same! Quiet and oh-​so-​gentle with my sometimes crazy pup…
There is some retail space at the front where they sell holistic and natural dog products as well as some clothing and accessories.
Every grooming appointment ends with a free bandana and matching fabric pouch with a free sample, store specials, and latest editions of all the free local dog publications.
One more tip:
For those who love Value Village like me, there is a HUGE one a few doors down from Tango’s Paw Palace — I always just go shopping/​browsing there while Malik’s in the spa (it’s usually an hour or an hour and a half).
See? That makes it even MORE worth the trip!
