Tribble customer service, uneducated staff. This store is always short in staff, and the service desk is unable to answer your basic questions.

I’d suggest you go to Canadian tire few blocks away or Home Depot. No idea how this store has been on business for this long. The staffs were inattentive and unprofessional.

Rona has terrible customer service, go to Home Depot or another retailer! I purchased an oven range hood Fri Jan 30 at the Sheppard East location, and paid $ 45 for an installer to come to my condo and perform an estimate prior to installing the hood. We asked if we could pay for the balance of the installation to the installer or over the phone, and the store said yes this would be possible.
The installer came without problem for the estimate and stated that some of the required parts are missing. He stated that we would need to make a second trip to the store to get them. We asked if the installer could go and get the required part, I am not a contractor and don’t know the proper part. I also spend enough time on my first visit to the store, and specifically asked about payment prior to leaving the store.
1. The installer was unable to go to the store to retrieve the required part for the installation.
The store had the part in-​stock, we wanted to pay for the part over the phone and have the installer go to pick up the part.
2. The store was unable to take credit card payments over the phone.
After a one hour phone conversation and speaking with the manager Paul, he said it is a corporate policy that they are not able to process payments over the phone.
Even Pizza Pizza can accept credit card payments over the phone!
We informed Paul that we would not be proceeding with this installation.
We are calling an installer from Home Depot who can get the proper part from the store and come to compete the installation. I will not go back to Rona again!

This is a small hardware store without a lot of inventory but with a wide selection of items. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The store can be a bit of a maze and the staff can be hard to find behind the tall shelves and in the nooks and crannies of the various floors. This is a good place to go if you don’t want to go all the way out to one of the box stores, and if you want to buy Canadian. And, they give Air Miles.
