In our clinic we perform facials for anti-​aging, acne, and general skin care, as well as laser hair removal and microdermabrasion. We also carry a full line of at home skin treatment products and devices for hair loss, hair removal. anti-​aging, and acne. We offer free consultations in our clinic as well as on the phone.

History

Established in 1978.

Original started in North Bay, Ontario by Arthur Ranney, who is now retired. The business is now owned and operated by his son, John. John began working in the business around 1990. He become sole owner in 2002 upon Arthur’s retirement. Arthur started as a barber in the 60’s and expanded into hair replacement in the early 70’s. In 1979 Arthur and his family moved to Toronto and he dedicated his business to hair replacement. Originally Freedom was located in downtown Toronto but over the years settled in the north end of the city, near Yonge and Sheppard, where we have operated for the last 20 years. Freedom Hair Systems has evolved to be one of the best known and reputable hair replacement businesses in North America, frequently sought out for training, advice, supplies, and general expertise. We have participated in several hair system franchise start-​ups but always come back to our roots, which feature independence, freedom, and advanced customer service and products.

John R.

Business Owner

John Ranney began working in the hair replacement business with his father in 1990 after obtaining a bachelors degree from the University of Toronto. His first role was in sales. He slowly began to take over management duties as time went on and the owners looked towards retirement. By the year 2000 John was managing the company and beginning to expand the methods and product offerings. Upon taking over the company in 2002, John introduced a new line up of products and began to fully utilize the internet as a form of marketing and education for consumers. This led to being one of the first on line companies for hair replacement. As the business grew, John brought his wife Kelly into the business who is well respected esthetician and make-​up artist. She developed this area of the business and Freedom now offers full services in the esthetics areas. John Continues to expand the company’s services and product offerings., and continues to be one of the foremost experts in the field.
