This place is good for your traditional Jewish food. You can get fresh Greyf’s bagels, freash chala, gefilte fish, mazza ball soup, fresh baked deserts, a variety of salads. Their strength is their own smokes salmon(there are two varieties) and rich cream cheese. Oy vey, I’ll need to go back on my diet.

Chicken soup is a joke and they only put two Matzah Balls in the jar. ONLYTWO!!! These people should not make soup.

Delicious prepared foods and super-friendly staff! Daiter’s is a great place to pick up lunch or get something quick to make at home. Their deli has a great salad selection including a delicious spicy eggplant salad, and a healthy lemon-y quinoa salad. Check out their sandwich bar for bagels with cheese and lox(they have Gryfe’s bagels), chicken cutlets, soups, blintzes, and lots of healthy options. I really like their mushroom blintzes with sour cream. Last time I was here, my friend had the lentil burger, which looked great and came with a generous portion of toppings like grilled zucchini, eggplant, red peppers, and other veggies. Sandwiches are made to order, so allow some time because it’s not that fast. Prices are good — most sandwiches or wraps are $ 5.99. They have all-day breakfast too!

I’ve never come here for a meal, only for the cream cheese and the blintzes. But I’ve been doing that since I was a kid, and I’m not apt to stop doing that every time I’m in Toronto. Like a Bagel World twister, Daiter’s LANA cream cheese is more addictive than anything. So addictive that I’ve even brought back their cream cheese to California to share with people here who thought Philadelphia was somehow related to good cream cheese. Converts, all of them. At $ 8/lb(at last check) it’s not cheap stuff, but definitely worth a medium container per trip(which holds about 1.25 lbs, so about $ 10). Not sure I’d say that if I still lived in T.O., though. Combine with Bagel World and Kristapson’s, and you’ve got the perfect meal. The blintzes are also good, as I’m sure the rest of their prepared food is. I’m sure I’ve had their catering at some event or another too. But to me, Daiter’s = cream cheese.
