I’ve been on a hunt in many Thrift stores lately to find some certain items, hoping I’d get lucky on my finds. I decided to come here a few times(the most recent visit was earlier this morning). They have tons of pretty neat stuffs, from clothing to furniture to electronics. They have a lot more electronics than the one on Marine Drive but in terms of DVD’s, CD’s and Video Games, the Marine Drive has more of it. Which is kind of unfortunate as this location used to have a lot of VHS and DVD’s when I was younger, now, there isn’t enough to fill even one small cupboard on a shelf. But I digress. All and all, this place is actually a pretty decent place to pop your head in and find something that might be a bit of a gem at a bargain price.

There are GEMS at this Salvation Army. I buy all my picture frames in hopes of creating that Pinterest Wall for my condo. I have signed up for the discount days and received a 50% discount for Xmas Clothing this Canadian Black Friday. I hope I get notification when frames go on sale! I love finding nice picture frames and little decorations for my house. Being a new homeowner, I don’t have the dispensable cash to buy pricey décor, but I still want to make my place look«warm, cozy and welcoming» :) Plus, I believe used items all have a «story» behind them, though… I don’t know what their story is and what brought them to the«Thrift Shop», I believe they life a life before meeting me and when I buy and bring them into my home, a new life begins for them. It’s a strange thought process, I know! Hehe The staff here are super friendly, I brought over a DVD player late at night(still works) and they accepted it. They were really appreciative of my donation. I plan to donate more here whenever I have something I don’t need because someone else could find use for it. Open until 9pm on week nights, I can’t complain! It’s my weekly night time hobby after work, gym and cooking. I love this place!

I came here on a hunt to find some pants since I was in the area. This place is a lot cheaper than VV which is appreciated. Only downfall is that ’cause they’re a charitable organization that the will take almost anything without actually sorting through the items themselves for quality. Most clothes are good, however, there were way too many that I fell in love with that had some stains, rips etc. I did score a cupcake pan.

Love donating my clothes here. Great that they have the service and I really hope someone gets good use out of the gigantic bag dropped off the other day again. Passing it on is a part of life!

A short jaunt up the hill from the Quay, this thrift store is worth a visit. Prices are cheap, but you do have to watch the quality because they aren’t well sorted like some other places. Check clothes for rips or stains because some items on the rack have ‘em. The staff here were really helpful, and even willing to re-price an item that I found that had no tags. At VV the policy is no tags=no sale, no matter how much you love the item. I also scored a new Risk board game here for a few bucks!

The nicest Sally Ann’s I’ve ever been in! Awesome prices. Clean. Organized. And I showed up on a Saturday when books and c.d.s were $ 1! Even late in the day, I found several newer titles I’d been wanting and some more esoteric choices in perfect condition. A $ 27 outlay netted the following haul: 8 books that all looked like new(fiction, non, cookbook and a very funky craft book), a handsome Kenneth Cole men’s suit coat, a sassy black linen skirt, a fitted Ann Taylor T-shirt and an amazingly cute Ella Moss shirt w/chiffon sleeves(imagine how much that set the original buyer back at Anthropologie!!) Thanks for running a great shop!

This Salvation Army is a little gem in North Van. My friend and I found lots of cool stuff and the prices are fantastic. I purchased a cut off jean vest that are super in style now, but instead of paying $ 100 for it at Urban Outfitters, I got a similar one here for $ 5. My friend bought a leopard print dress, a black sequin dress, and a couple of cute tops. If you’re looking to thrift, this is a great spot!
