Smoke and Bones

«I just would like to express my thanks for a job well done.» While coordinating our Christmas corporate event luncheon it was my pleasure to work with the folks at Smoke & Bones BBQ Catering to provide the food. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and extremely accommodating, particularly when we had some last minute dietary restriction requests. Most amazing was the efficiency of your team, you rolled in, set up, served fantastic food then cleaned up without a fuss and were gone without a hitch, just like you promised. Smoke & Bones BBQ is the real deal.
Their food was absolutely delicious from the pulled pork, BBQ chicken, BBQ Ribs, to the salads, desserts and even the condiments! Very large portions. These folks pay attention to the smallest detail and are so organized they make everything look effortless and fun. Comments from people attending the event have all been very positive. «Very well done and we will be back on our summer corporate event!»

we went to a pre wedding dinner which Smoke and bones catered.
good to bad
Chicken was by far the best. very nice brine, with a light sweet smoke, and a light glaze. they had a nice bite to them.
Ribs, baby backs were good, a little to sweet and saucy for me, still had a good bite, but not a lot of smoke flavor.
Pulled pork was ok, i searched for burnt ends but as a pit master myself i have a feeling where they ended up. it was a little to shredded for me, i like a little more texture to my pork. but overall not to bad,
brisket was a fail. way over done way to dry and no texture or flavor what so ever. even the couple of burnt ends i found in the brisket were not good.
sides beans were good i like sweet beans.
potato salad was ok.
corn bread was tasty.
not sure what other side they supplied so ill leave it there.
i would have really like to see one of the meat dishes served with a vinegar based Bbq sauce,
or at the very least 2 sides of Bbq sauce,
good size servings
plenty of left overs,

Really good, authentic barbecue! They provide all sorts of catering services for any type of event. There are many options to choose from, at a very reasonable price. Tastings are offered as well. We used them for our wedding and chose the salmon and brisket, which pleased all of our guests! Everything was so good and people are still raving about the food to this day.

I can’t believe there are only 2 other reviews on here. Justin at Smoke and Bones catered my wedding in 2013 and our wedding guests still talk about the food. The day of, it was Rick who headed up the wedding. At the time, Smoke and Bones had merged with another catering company, so could accommodate our request for homemade perogies, and wow! They were so amazing! As was the beef brisket (smoked for 16 hours) and the pit beans, cornbread, baked potatoes with all the fixings, spinach salad, corn on the cob and fresh homemade pies for dessert. They also left us the leftovers, so we could bring it out for everyone for a late night snack (beef brisket sandwiches!!). At one point, they ran out of perogies, and in a potentially sour situation, Rick drove all the way back to North Vancouver from White Rock to pick up more perogies and bring them back. Complete professionals, who really cared how the night went for us. I would go back to Smoke and Bones in a heartbeat. Thank you to Rick and Justin!!!

Smoke n Bones catered our barn wedding in June and we are still getting comments about it from friends and family 3 months later. Not only were they accommodating and pleasant to deal with throughout the planning process but they couldn’t have been more professional on the day as well.
Most importantly THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! From their amazing meats to their fantastic bbq brown beans (which I am still craving) to the vegetarian option they offered our guests, we received nothing but rave reviews saying it was the best food people had EVER had at a wedding. Our only regret is that we were too busy/​excited to eat more at our own wedding!
I could go on and on about them! I really can’t say enough about how outstanding they are… I only wish they had a restaurant we could visit frequently :)

These guys are the real deal. Unfortunately they don’t have a restaurant and primarily focus on catering. But during the PNE they are setup with a stand at the fair so you can sample their goods.
I tried both the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were pretty generous portions — a very good value.
The pulled pork had a light smokiness without being overpowering. The meat was perfectly tender, and it combined well with the not overly mayoed slaw. A very nice sandwich! Photo:
The brisket was the star of the show. Perfectly executed with a good bark and nice smoke flavour. The fat had been rendered properly but still the brisket was very moist. They really did a good job on the brisket. I would love if they offered a sliced version instead of just the pulled version. But as part of the pulled version there were a few larger chunks that gave the taste of being sliced as well. Nice contrast! I really enjoyed this sandwich. Photo:
I wish these guys would open up a restaurant and give the other sub-​par options around town a run for their money!
