SeaBus Lonsdale Terminal

This is the Seabus that I usually take heading back to Vancouver from Grouse moutain. On weekend in the winter time, you would notice a lot of skier and snowboarder. the Seabus has always been pretty clean. Best of all there is Wifi on it now provided by shaw to go. It always comes on time. and takes less than 15 mins to cross.

Worst location ever. I don’t know why they can’t make a single drink right, even when it’s a simple iced tea. I go to Starbucks at least 5 – 6 times per week. Yes, I know that’s a lot but I am a loyal Starbucks customer. Anywhere I go in the US or Canada, there’s always a Starbucks location so I have gone to many many locations. And I have tried nearly every single drink on their menu. Yet somehow this location has made every single drink wrong. Recently, they renovated the store so I decided to give them another try. They made me an iced tea that looked like apple juice it was so watered down. I would wait till you cross over the water with the sea bus and just visit the starbucks location in Waterfront station.

just find this one much too gloomy for my liking when getting off, while hitching a ride at the cul de sac by the bus loop. now that’s gloomy.
Other than that, indeed a nice point between the market and the few eateries at this platform.

…I actually like how the seabus has a creepy-​retro vibe to it.
Competent and somewhat clean, the Seabus takes me to the Lonsdale Market when I decide to go once a year.
I remember being somewhat amazed at the fact a transportation hub had a McDonalds and other such businesses when I was in Vancouver as a teenager from Calgary.
…“What is this… Organization of transportation? Convenience?!“
That is when I knew I wanted to live in Vancouver…
Anyways, Yay Seabus!

According to Foursquare I have been to this terminal 1036 times and those are only the ones that I checked in. What can I say about it really? The times are reliable and if you get one of the newer ones they are more comfortable. If you live in North Vancouver and are within a reasonable distance there is no better way to go Downtown. Be it for a movie, a show at Rogers Arena or a restaurant.
Recently they had to put brand new seat covers on the newer sea bus. The old, as they had been warned were mesh and would not hold up to daily traffic. One can expect this cost to be passed along in the next inevitable rate hike.
The staff are courteous but only rarely check tickets and otherwise only seem to be there to open doors for people with bicycles or luggage.

This is the only way to get to the quay. The station itself is retro and is somewhat of a long walk from the skytrain station to the terminal, therefore, I would walk fast despite of what the departure clock reads at the gate. There is a bathroom… thank god, something that all stations should be having in the first place. Who ever designed this got their s*it together for once in designing. After rush hour the sailings are 30 — 60 minutes.

Take the bus from the city and the next thing you know, everything slows down and it’s time to unwind. Try a wine or cocktail at Pier 7, like hooked on phonics, «It wurks fur me»

This is a good place for you to catch a ride from North Vancouver to downtown area or vice versa.
One of the things I hate about it is that often times after I get off the skytrain to the waterfront, there’s always just barely 2 or 3 minutes left before the Seabus leaves, which doesn’t give me a lot of time to walk to the other side and to get on and forces me to run or fast pace over to it to avoid having to wait for another 15 to 30 minutes. This can be a bit of a problem for those who has mobility issues.
Here’s a tip for any of you guys heading from Vancouver or wherever to North Vancouver, I recommend catching the Skytrain to the Stadium — Chinatown Station, which is 5 minutes away from the Waterfront Terminal and just catch the 240, 241, 246 or 247 bus which is located right beside the post office close to the Vancouver Community College door on Dunsmuir Street. You just have to walk up a tiny bit from the skytrain.
The 240 Highland bus will take you along side onto Marine Drive and will be passing the Capilano Mall.
The 241 will also do the same. Not sure where it goes, but it does also pass the Cap Mall if you need to go there or anywhere around that area.
The 246 will take you up to Capilano Road at the corner of Staples until it reaches Ridgewood Drive (which is about 1 or 2 blocks away from Capilano Suspension Bridge so this bus can still be an option if you need to go there), then it turns there and heads to Edgemont Village and to somewhere around the 15^th Street in North Van.
The 247 bus will be similar to 246 but will just take you directly to the popular North Van tourist attractions like Capilano Suspension Bridge, Cleveland Dam, and Grouse Mountain, but the bus normally starts from 4:30pm in the evening on Monday to Friday. But the first one that comes at 4:05 will only go to upper Capilano or somewhere near there in North Vancouver.

The «meditative» quarter time before or after work… the ride to experience if you are from out of town and get to see the beauty of our mountains AND our gorgeous downtown skyline.
The Seabus is as cute and pleasant as the transit system gets in the Vancouver area.

I am not surprised that this terminal has been open for forty years, since it looks like the set to a dystopian nightmare film from the 80s. Any second between exitting the seabus and entering the quay marketplace I fully expect a bunch of young men in colorful outfits to jump the turnstile and start knife fighting each other.
But usually that doesnt happen and I don’t know if it ever has. I think the most exciting event to happen is when officers check for fares at the gate, especially when the seabus clock is running in to it’s last two minutes!
There is a public washroom available here. On the other side of it is an abandoned version of the operational side’s waiting area. Sometimes it’s clean, sometimes you’ll find weird stuff like sandles. The view on the waiting area is nice on clear days, and did you ever notice the owl sculptures?

Connection to the bus bay is easy and appreciate that it’s under the parking lot, sheltering it from the elements. Lonsdale Market is right up under the terminal, good for a quick run in.
Crossing back the countdown clock to the next departing boat is appreciated too.

This review is for 01/​01/​2012. Wait a minute, there are tons of review for Waterfront Station and SeaBus, but aren’t we missing on where the it ends? Did people miss their final destination? Apparently, only Catherine made it to the other side of Vancouver to the SeaBus Lonsdale Terminal.
After leaving Waterfront and taking the SeaBus to the other side, I landed on the SeaBus Lonsdale Terminal. All of a sudden, I felt smaller by just riding to North Vancouver. Oh wait, I am on the rich side of Vancouver, North Vancouver. Just like Waterfront, there is a time display of when the boat will arrive and security personnel. However, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or the RCMPs take charge of this side. One thing is still the same, the $ 9 Day Pass.
While waiting for or arriving from the SeaBus, there are shops right at the terminal, including the infamous Starbucks. I’ll review that Starbucks right after this… lol. This terminal is just a building without the fancy courthouse look of Waterfront Station. Unlike Waterfront, Lonsdale has Terminal Bays for Lynn Canyon and other places in North Vancouver.
Without Lonsdale, you couldn’t enjoy SeaBus fully, but I wouldn’t mind taking a longer boat ride. Its always convenient in Vancouver, isn’t it? Possibly set my eyes living in Vancouver, at least once. Unless the taxes, kill you first.

I frequently have to go to the North Shore for doctor’s appointments and from New West public transit is the way to go. No stress, no traffic and an overall decent system.
Today I decided to try out the washroom. If you have ever taken Vancouver’s transit system you are well aware that there are no public toilets to be found (unless you count the corners of stairs wells but that’s a whole other review). I will say I was delighted when I entered and it didn’t smell like an outhouse and was well maintained (clean). I know now that this is one public toilet I can handle without plugging my nose.
