Man Up Grooming

I have been going to Man Up for over a year now. Was really impressed with the place until today. My regular barber had recently quit so I tried another one. Was supposed to get my regular treatment, the Full Monty but all I got was a haircut and a rinse even though I asked for the full Monty. The haircut was pretty good. Oh well. I’m willing to give them another go. I’ll ask for a different barber next time.
Update –Went back a few weeks ago (feb 2015), got a different barber and was thoroughly impressed. Way to come through Man Up.

If in your past you’ve settled for cheap haircuts, you will regret that decision immediately. This place is amazing.
They are extremely professional, and have your style history when you visit them again. This makes the hair styling very consistent. I’ve hated getting the «bad» barber completely mess up something I clearly stated and that has never happened here.
The price is by no means cheap, its about $ 35 for a haircut BUT considering the service, I don’t mind. And I am not at all wealthy. I’m a broke full time student.

I’ve become a regular here since Male Essentials closed down a while ago. They offer a classic cut with the option of getting the razor neck shave and the haircut always includes a great wash. Laura is the stylist that I always see and she does a great job. Got a fade last week and everybody told me it looked great!
My favourite thing about Man Up is their monthly plans. I get two cuts and unlimited touch ups. Definitely check this place out.

Disappointed today. In Vancouver on business. on a whim decided to call to see if there was an opening. I was told yes at 3:30. Great news. I got there 10 minutes late. My fault. However I was then told another person was coming In at 4 and I could wait an hour till they were done. seems like I was getting squeezed in for a half hour. But now I would have to wait an hour for the next guy? Not even a 10 minute grace period. I know I was late, but sometimes hair cuts take a little longer. The next guy could have hung tight for a bit. What a stinky pisser.

Any reason for my late reply? Only the fact that I’m lazy! Ha! I had my car fixed in the area last week so it reminded me if my fall experience. That’s all.
Based on your reply, I had been given erroneous information by your staff and my experience was an anomaly. It’s great to hear all of your problems have been rectified.

Got haircuts with my son at the same time, managed to catch the first half of Holland vs Argentina. He was really happy with his cut and so was I with mine. The two stylists who did our cuts were fantastic.

Checked this place out after a couple of referrals from friends, clean and very chill atmosphere. First time I was able to enjoy a beer while getting a trim. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great addition to the north shore, hope it sticks around so that I can make it my home base for a fresh cut.

I went to Man Up because I wanted to try something different and more modern. They were excellent — my hair stylist was really friendly, it was very relaxed and I felt totally at ease. I got a great cut and joined their members program before I left. I’m an actor and the bonus of being able to go in for free edging between cuts makes a big difference, that added ‘sexy up’ as they call it.
Highly recommend!

Went there with 3 of my buddies for a Man Cave pampering night. Great service, wonderful staff, and we all came out looking handsomer than usual! Can’t recommend Man Up highly enough!

Finally I’ve found my place to get my hair cut and styled in my North Vancouver neighborhood. Why Man Up Grooming deserves 5 stars is because it was a relaxing place to have a grooming experience was the best since I moved out to Vancouver in over 6 years ago.
I came into the Man Up Salon/​Spa store with my last hair cut done over 2+ months ago. I was warmly greeted by those in the store and was put to ease and not like I was some stranger. I knew the Salon’s website so I knew that I was looking for something nicer than just a cut and a style. Fortunately they have a hair style package called «The Full Monty» which included a shampoo, cut, style, edging, post-​cut cleansing shampoo and a head/​scalp massage. The post-​cut shampoo was that service added part of the package I truly appreciated the best because I do not know how many times I walked out of a hair stylist’s place with an itchy head and neck from the little hairs not cleaned out!!!
My stylist (and I’m so sorry that I forgot her name) was super friendly and very cool. She took the time to listen to my past haircut adventures and from that she worked her magic to make me look great. She was real friendly to talk with which is another huge plus over the other places where you just sit there and feel like a stranger.
I’m now officially done with the so-​called discount hair cut places in the malls. Not that I’ll look forward to seeing my hair grow out again, but when it does, I’ll be going back to Man Up Grooming to make me look pretty again!

After today’s pampering, I’m a fan of Man Up Grooming! A big fan!
Who would have thought a pedi/​foot massage was so awesome? As of now, post-​treatment, I AM! (And I’ll be back to do it again!)
The Man Up Grooming salon/​spa is freaking cool! It’s a man cave in all regards. Big screen TV, bar stocked with refreshments and massage chairs to sit in while you get your feet rubbed… sounds like Heaven doesn’t it?
My fellow men/​dudes, if you’re looking for a place to chill out, get a hair cut, scalp massage, expert shave, foot massage or all of the above, this is it!
I will be back again (and again… and again) — who thought #ManningUp would be so much fun.
