Daisy Sandwiches & Such

My husband and I just went here for a quick lunch during work. I had the pulled pork pancetta burger and he had the French dip. Both were soooo delicious! I love the location! It’s in a cute little restaurant tucked in an industrial area, so it’s great for people who work 9 – 5 and have a lunch break in the area. The service was so kind and polite and we even loved the hot sauce so much, we walked out with a bottle we bought. I would highly recommend this charming, little place for a quick lunch stop. I felt like my workday stopped and I could really just chill for a second without worry. I will most definitely be back!

I came here with my husband and my in-​laws on a weekday morning. We were hunting for a breakfast place close to Park Royal Mall where we could sit down and have a conversation.
Daisy Sandwiches & Such is located two blocks south of Marine Drive in an industrial area. There is lots of 1 hour street parking outside of the café. When we entered, we were surprised that there were a bunch of «Reserved» signs on the larger 4 person tables. The signs actually said «Reserved for 3 or more», which I think is a good system for a café. We were immediately given menus and one of the staff members offered us coffee or tea. You need to order and pay at the till at the front of the café, but they will deliver whatever you order to your table.
Everything on the breakfast menu is $ 12 or less, which is great for breakfast. They offer a decent variety of 3 egg omelettes, eggs benedict, and other breakfast items (including a breakfast pita and breakfast burger). I opted for the Daisy Omelette, which had ham and sauteed peppers in it, and also came with toast and hash browns. The omelette was cooked well and not oily, and the hash browns were great. The portion size was also large, so the meal kept me full from the end of breakfast until dinner (which is great!). Throughout the meal, the staff ensured our coffee was topped up, and were very quick to clear away empty breakfast dishes.
Overall, this is an adorable gem of a café in North Vancouver. I highly recommend it for breakfast!

We had a delicious breakfast here today. Smoked salmon benny and regular benny (both half orders) and a Good Morning (your usual eggs, meat choice, toast, and hashbrowns). Three coffees as well. The ambiance is really great, very café, very homey, very welcoming. There were lots of regulars who were talking with the owner, and she made sure to top up our coffees herself after our meal and asked how everything tasted. It was a nice touch. The baked goods and sandwiches in the display case looked great. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Very clean. Good looking (sup) and pleasant staff. Mean Italian meatball soup. Would come back again.

Sad I didn’t read Marc D.‘s review first. Dropped my lady friend off to get her car fixed in this industrial area and I was hungry oh so hungry. Saw this busy little place with a cute animé logo akin to Pixars Ratatouille. Stopped in and looked around, saw that people were paying 10 $ for a premade subway like sandwich with a side of doritos… scanned for other possibilities… Soup? No nope… it was corn yam chowder and a woman sitting with her husband trying to eat it with a gross look on her face, made me do a double take and walk back out.
I’m checking Unilocal more often.

Came here strictly because of the reviews! Only three blocks from home and never knew it was here! Great breakfast. A lot of great food for the price and very friendly service. New regular breakfast place!

Cute café in a busy residential and semi business area. The portions are huge for the prices. Best bang for your buck. Most people were locals hanging out. Very warm and friendly vibe. There are some gluten free options which earns another bonus point from yours truly. This is a hidden gem that I’ve been telling everyone about. The owners made me feel like family. Cheap good coffee.

Best smoked Turkey sandwich. Their gluten free options are great and their breakfast specials are fantastic.

A very nice sandwich shop and a much better alternative to the mall food court a short distance away. I have been to this restaurant a number of times and it is a good choice for those who work in the Capilano Business Park area or around the light-​industrial part of Marine/​Pemberton. They have a good selection of grilled sandwiches and a beef dip and some outdoor seating for nice days.

Good food, great service, clean as a whistle! The owner is the cook and the other owner waits on tables. The staff are all pleasant and friendly and they will go the extra mile to make sure everything is as you wish. The only comment I have is that more veggie options would be nice, but perhaps that isn’t the area clientele. Lots of free parking and a nice park to walk in really close.

Really nice place for breakfast! Ordered the Daisy Omelette and it was tasty and very delicious.

While staying at the Best Western On Capilano, I was looking for a place for breakfast nearby. We decided on Daisy… Good choice! Cute place, friendly staff. I had the breakfast pita which came with a tiny muffin :) less than 5 dollars! 1.80 to add coffee, which was great! Husband had the simple eggs/​sausage/​hash browns/​toast which he loved. Also got a morning glory muffin which was goodnotgreat. I’d try a different kind. Fun things to look at under the table glass. Probably wont be back to North Vancouver but would come back if we ever were!

Great Food (I love the benny’s) — the best service on the north shore — a cute and cozy restaurant experience with refreshing décor.

I’m a little afraid to praise this place because I don’t want it to get so popular that I can’t get in! But, great food, great prices, a warm, family atmosphere and the best diner coffee on the North Shore. It can’t be beat!

My dad and I were in the neighbourhood, and we thought we’d try this place out. Turns out they have amazing gluten free sandwiches.
I found a wrap that looked delicious, with everything I could want on it, but I was looking for gluten-​free so the wrap wouldn’t do. I asked the gentleman at the front if I could have it on a sandwich, the chef said it wouldn’t be as good that way and recommended the Mediterranean panini (I had mine sans mushrooms) …

I do recommend having your sandwich toasted, as my dads sandwich was not toasted, and did not turn out quite as delicious as mine.
I am not a fan of onions, but the onions in my panini were caramelized perfectly, and delicious. We had a completely gluten-​free meal, including a handful of chips and chocolate chip cookie. For those with gluten allergies or celiacs, you know how exciting a cookie can be! They also bake their own gluten-​free breads, my celiac father had no reaction. PERFECT!
The location I thought would be based more towards the industrial crew, but there are options for all sorts of tastes. I HIGHLY recommend the Mediterranean panini, and I can’t wait to go back for another gluten-​free sandwich (note: I am NOT a celiac, I love me some gluten).
It was pretty busy, consistent rather than over packed. For a moment I thought, it’s a little too quiet — then I looked around I saw everyone so focused on their food.

In the middle of an industrial side-​street in North Van, this appears to be a tough location. In recent years this spot has been called Moments Café, Grindhouse Café, Gevalia Delicatessen, and now Daisy Sandwiches & Such. I don’t know the full history — but seeing the location I can understand that the only chance a business would have here is very strong word of mouth as the local industrial spaces likely couldn’t provide enough customers to keep a spot going.
I ordered the «manwich» sandwich which was described as pastrami, ham, turkey, and swiss. The sandwich was served on a grilled supermarket quality baguette, with yellow mustard. The meats were standard deli sliced fare. The plate was served with an odd selection of chips (a mixture of cheetos, doritos, pretzels, and sunchips) and a small chocolate chip cookie. The entire meal gave me the feel of a school cafeteria lunch with the exception of the grilling of the bread (ok, maybe a private school cafeteria lunch). Photo:
At a bit over $ 9 for the sandwich after tax, this was a disappointing performance. I think Jamie Oliver needs to visit and do a school lunch conversion program here…
