Loved loved LOVED this place. Was looking to do two wineries in the area and find a place to eat in between. This was one of the few lunch places that came up and I actually stopped looking once I visited their website and saw this«WELOVEFOODANDWEKNOWYOULOVEFOOD. WEMAKEFOODFORFOODLOVERS.» I liked that their menu was posted online too, everything on it was mouthwatering. I ordered the grilled cheese with bacon which was served with about 3 cups of homemade fries and garlic aioli. I normally don’t eat grilled cheese but couldn’t resist when I saw the description, the cheeses separated by the apple-onion jam and bacon, grilled like a panini on multi grain was truly out of this world! The fries and garlic aioli were awesome too but felt bad that I couldn’t finish them all, it was a lot. Boyfriend had the bleu burger which looked delicious and the bleu was melty. He wasn’t able to finish his fries either. He loved his meal as much as I loved mine. After lunch tried a few wines next door and left with 3 bottles, I’ll write that in a separate review. I told a group of friends later that night how amazing this place was… I totally will drive up from Buffalo again just to eat here. Looking forward to it!

We came here as our lunch choice for the Niagara Fun Tours trip we were on and I was not disappointed! They had a duck poutine special going on the day I went for $ 7. My friend and I decided to order the duck poutine, the Tagliatelle Pasta with Shrimp and Scallops($ 13.25), and the Blue Cheese Sirloin Burger($ 12.50) with a Beet Duo Salad(+$ 2.50). As you can see everything is reasonably priced and the portions were good as well. We got the duck poutine to start and holy moly did we ever get a good portion! It was huge and very filling. The only thing I would have liked more for the poutine was if it had less gravy and more of the cheese curds. Overall though it was seasoned just the right amount(not too salty). My pasta was so tasty! It had cooked cherry tomatoes in it which was a bit weird for my taste but otherwise everything else was good. The shrimp and scallops were a good size as well. The Blue Cheese Sirloin Burger was very juicy but I found the amount of blue cheese they had put on was a bit overwhelming. At least they wanted us to get our money’s worth! The Beet Duo Salad was good as well; the beets were slightly sweet, the pickled red onions, the crumbled chevre, and candied walnuts really made the salad a great choice. It came with a Dijon vinaigrette. I recommend stopping by here for a bite to eat if you’re visiting Caroline Cellars.

I brought my visiting cousin and her boyfriend here for wine tasting. We saw the signs for their afternoon specials and decided we had to eat! Haha We ordered the philly cheese steak poutine, onion fritata and chicken pot pie. All massive massive portions. Mmm it was soo good. I rarely come across a winery with a food place by it. The décor was woody rustic with several wine glasses per table. It added to the experience. The ladies over at the wine tasting area were lovely! I look forward to go back.

Nice spot for lunch — although it’s too bad the patio is by the parking lot and not overlooking the vineyard! I had the salmon, which was very reasonably priced($ 13.50) and nicely cooked. I would have liked a larger portion of quinoa and vegetables with it, but I guess for the price I can’t really complain. Their 2010 Riesling was great!

When you think of winery food service, you might think of just a few cubes of cheese and perhaps a summer sausage on a plate. Perhaps even a few grapes if you were lucky. The Farmhouse Café is an excellent restaurant in its own right. The ambiance is naturally lit Canadian cabin. While the star attraction is a weekly poutine, the other options are classic farmhouse versions of comfort food. Grilled cheese and fried chicken sandwiches are better than homemade. While out in farm country a little ways, it is an excellent option if you’re in the NOTL area. You won’t have to fight for parking and seating is generally available even at busy times. Oh, and you can have a glass or two of wine while you’re here as well.
