I am stunned that this place doesn’t have more reviews. This is a great place for dinner! Oliv was a recommendation from Country Willows B&B that we are staying at. Oliv is located in the Strewn Winery. We stopped there earlier for a wine tasting, but didn’t know they had a restaurant. Our goal was to find a place for dinner with amazing food. We picked out a few other restaurants, but this was highly recommended for the food. They were able to seat us on a Saturday night, which was astonishing since most other places were booked. The service was perfect. They replaced silverware, removed anything that was being used. I had the rack of lamb, which came with four lamb bones, mini potatoes, and vegetable medley. THISWASAMAZING. So delicious. Absolutely cooked perfectly. I ate every last bite. My husband had the special of a salmon filet with lobster purée all wrapped in filo dough with a medley of vegetables. We finished the meal with the Gâteau al la crème. It was an angel food cake topped with a puddling-like/icing finished with four different types of fruit. I can not recommend this place enough. It’s not far from town and certainly needs to be given a try!

The food was delicious, but as another reviewer noted, the portions are very small. I received three tiny lamb chops in my entrée order even though the tapas listed a half order of lamb chops as two chops. You would think a full order would be four. One of my dining companions received four, so the portions were very inconsistent. Aside from the inconsistent and small portions, this was a very good dining experience.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here. Though it was a snowy day in April and not quite spring weather, we had a wonderful view of the lake. The service was great here, such a quiet and quaint atmosphere. Our server recommended to us the elk bourguignon so I had that and my husband had the bison short ribs. We also tried one of their hot tapas plates which was the Down under tapas of grilled alligator tail sautéed in their signature olive oil. They also gave us focaccia bread dipped in their signature olive oil and cask 18 balsamic vinegar. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were so divine together and very flavorful. We enjoyed sampling their alligator tail mixed with fresh herbs and vegetables. Our main entrées were also quite delicious though I would have to say my husband’s bison ribs were the better choice out of the two. As well, they also do flavoured drinks with balsamic vinegar, I tried their passion fruit and it was quite refreshing. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we had time to sample their balsamic vinegars after. We quite liked their signature Cask 18 and smoked balsamic vinegars. Our host even told us there how we can use these vinegars for marinating different types of meat. We will certainly back to get some of these olive oils and balsamic vinegars as gifts for friends and relatives!

Food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Considering the number of good reviews we were expecting much more. The barley soup was fair, but I’ve had better at Fortino’s(grocery store). The pizza special was ok, but the garlic oil was way out of sync with the meats and overpowered all the meat flavors, and the meats were all overcooked. The wines were also ok, but nothing special. The olive oil that came with the bread was good, just wish the bread was good. The service was friendly but not very polished, and the décor was fairly institutional. Had high hopes, but didn’t live up to them at all.

Do not waste your money!!! If I could give negative stars I would! The portions are enough to feed a baby and there for overpriced! Here is an example of how overpriced this place is, they gave us complimentary bread and when we sat and then saw the meat board we ordered there was the complimentary bread again which took up most of the board, they served soggy olives, the meat looked like it came from a prepackaged company from a supermarket you can get anywhere, maybe 1⁄16th of a pepper… That rip off was $ 25 but it came with cheese that was cut up into tiny cubes as if they were trying to set mouse traps! My gf and I sat very close to the kitchen and the chefs were blasting Irish folk songs, maybe they were prepping for St. Paddys day… Who knows? But I know this, I will 100% never eat here again!

Simply amazing! Impeccable food, presentation, service. And the beautiful winery around… The tapas were delicious, all of them! I could not believe the beef can be so tender. The famous olive oil and balsamic vinegar were incredible. And the wine… So good, and so inexpensive. My favourite was Riesling-Gewurtztrawiner.
