I was so sad to hear that Taylor’s Bakery had closed down because of a fire(it was one of the highlights from a previous trip). However, was overjoyed to hear that the same family ran this bakery. All the baked goods, both sweet and savory, are amazing. Please do try the spicy sausage rolls and the Jamaican beef patties.

We got a long john doughnut thing here and some candy also. It was very good and the lady who worked there even made sure we had some napkins for the road. And they have ice wine candy. Yum!

Niagara on the Lake is a great place to spend a fall day. The way to work this is to get some wine from the local winery or from the wine store or LCBO on the main strip. The main strip is Queen Street by the way. Get some coffee to fill up your thermos So now you need to fill up that picnic hamper with some foodie goodies from your grandmas friend This bakery is my choice. Not because they offer souvenirs from the UK like tea cups celebrating the prince or queen but because they offer home baking meat pies. THEYMAKEGREATBUTTERTARTS so you need a few of those scones are very good as well They have australian black licorice ok 2 packs They have Empire biscuits and little cookies so get 6 of each They have sour candies Ok now you solved the bakery problem and now you need to add some meat pies into your hamper They will happily warm them up for you. Take that hamper and go to the waterfront park that can be walked or biked easily fresh air, home baked fresh food, vino… life is good

Old style bakery that has been opened for 75+ years! I love coming here every year for their baked goods. The staff are always so nice & easily strike up a conversation with the customers no matter how busy it gets inside. They always offer to warm up the goodies. I think next time though I will ask them not to heat it up, as they put it in the microwave as opposed to a toaster oven so the sausage rolls weren’t as crunchy ! Love so many of their goodies! Spinach rolls, shortbread, chocolate croissant, sausage rolls, eclairs, butter tarts, meat pies… The hard part is deciding what to get at the bakery! Prices are decent as well. Cannot wait to be back again next year

Best butter tarts EVER! I had a friend visiting the area and asked if he could bring back some butter tarts from home(I live in Califonia). He did… let me just say that they are wonderful! It was his first time trying them(since this is a Canadian thing) and he said that if he had tried them there… they would not have made it back to me!!!

Outstanding selection of baked goods in this Niagara on the Lake area bakery. I just wanted to buy everything but we settled for some scones which were very tasty.

I thought«I’m in NOTL so of course I have to bring home some little treats». So, I picked up a date square, a minced meat square, some different kind of brownie and 2 Belgium cookies. Friendly customer service. My mom managed to get to most of the treats before we could try them. .They were a hit. Fresh and everything you’d want given all the calories. Would definitely go back.

If you have a sweet tooth, Niagara Home Bakery can take care of your cravings. Being on the main drag, it does get a tad expensive, but boy do they have a fabulous selection of tarts, pies, cakes and even savoury delights such as sausage rolls and cornish pasties. It’s a great place to start your purchases for an afternoon picnic along the beautiful Niagara Parkway or a stop on the way out of town to bring home baked goods for those who deserve them! This is just what you’d expect from a place that’s been open for over a hundred years.

Wow, I want to marry this place! My parents and I stopped by for the first time after dinner this past Saturday. The bakery is charming and nostalgic feeling. We bought several items for breakfast the following morning, and they were all great. My mother enjoyed the chocolate croissant, which is like a chocolate-filled giant pain au chocolat. Meanwhile, my father thought the cheese danish and cinnamon ring were both delicious(and big). I made my way through the muffins which are adorably cooked in baby bundt pans. My favorite was the ginger one… perhaps Old English Ginger something? I can’t remember, but I want to put it in my mouth everyday. I only wish this place were closer so that I could go back and try the savory specials as well as get more muffins.

Wandering around downtown Niagara on the Lake, the sweet smell of buttery delights hit our noses and lured us into this wonderful little bakery. Walking in, you are wrapped in the sweet smell of a super-charged grandma baking away in this super cute little bakery that is packed with freshly baked cookies. So many choices! We had never seen Nanaimo bars before in a bakery so we grabbed some and were so happy. Great creamy cappuccino flavor with a crunchy base, it was delicious, and very filling. Just a little bit goes a long way. We also got an assortment of little cookies as well. Everything was very buttery and sweet.

YUM! Stopped into this cute little place to pick up some items for a picnic lunch on the lake. We picked up the following: A Cornish Pasty — very very tasty. great crusty and incredibly seasoned filling. Spinach and Feta Roll(Spanakopita) — flaky pastry and good tasting filling Sausage Roll — good spicy/sweet sausage inside delicious pastry The desserts stole the show though: Chocolate/Peanut Butter Tart — this was good but not our favorite. Butterscotch Tart — very good Butter Tart — truly gluttonous! This tart was amazing! I wanted to much more than the 1⁄3 I had when split with my family! My stomach is rumbling now just thinking about it. There were so many other tasty looking things that I wanted to get as well. Niagara Home Bakery is definitely worth a visit during your trip to NOTL.

I was famished when i popped into the bakery in search of sustenance. I got myself a tiny little apple pie which i had them heat in the microwave for a little bit. The pie was pretty good, but i wouldn’t say it was amazing… also, at $ 1.88, it was quite pricey for the size

I read about Niagara Home Bakery on Unilocal before our trip and it got a really great review so that was why we even went into the area. I was hoping for maybe some kind of pastries or donuts but they’re really just a cookie/tart/pie shop. So we got a few cookies to try. A raspberry thumbprint(one of my faves) and some weird brownie looking thing that had coconut and other stuff in it that the Mr wanted to try. The thumbprint cookie was good but bordering on dry. The other thing, I took one bite and downed some water. It tasted like coconut and some kind of rum or something. Yuck. I was really disappointed but the lady at the counter was super nice. We may have just chosen the wrong things to sample.

This might be the cutest bakery ever, run by the nicest woman ever. While I was looking around, an elderly woman walked in and said, «well, isn’t this place just delightful?» And I wanted to turn around and say, «I KNOW, RIGHT?!» But that might have been weird. Anyway, delightful is the perfect way to put it. A huge case on the left with more baked goods than you could ever imagine. More sugary goods fill the rest of the store, but when I walked in I saw the one thing that makes me stop in my tracks at a bakery — iced sugar cookies. Now, not all iced sugar cookies are created equal, folks. I like mine a certain way and it’s hard to find some that I like. I bought one here with a pumpkin design on it, put it in my bag, and forgot about it until I was at work back in Chicago the next day. The cookie was perfect. Chewy, not overly sugary, and mouth watering delicious. I want MORE. Damn it, Canada, why are you so far away?! And that nice woman who works here? She didn’t give me one bit of trouble when I asked if it was okay to pay with US money.(Though I guess since this is probably normal for them, but it made ME happy.) This is a «must do again» stop for me the next time I’m in NOTL.
