Very clean and cozy, the staff here is incredible!
So friendly and helpful, made our stay unforgettable.

Nice hotel, great location. Rooms are nice, pool is okay, right near the highway, but again no noise. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet style and you can request special orders. Shopping outlet is almost across the street, but it’s a ten minute drive over the highway. The staff was less than friendly. Two HS looking girls at the front counter need lessons on customer service. Some of the other staff as well. Felt less than welcomed.

Even though this is the most conveniently located and best priced hotel for the event I will be attending in Niagara, I refuse to book a room here because of the atrocious customer service I received from the staff on several occasions. Long story short, I wasted a lot of time and out-​of-​country cell phone minutes waiting for the staff to first find the room block for the wedding I’ll be attending (the first person couldn’t find it, told me to call back the next day) and then to tell me the next day that they found the room block but wouldn’t give me the discounted rate unless I could give them a confirmatory address or phone number. WTF? Why would I have that, I’m just a wedding guest and the bride told me to just give her fiancé’s name. Anyway the hotel pretty much told me to get lost, and I will, by taking my business elsewhere.

Enjoyed our stay over Easter. Clean, friendly, damn good, however, all the little add ons to the bill were a tad annoying I.e. Facilities fee, promotion fee; come on, that should be part if the room charge, not impressed at that! Would have recommended it but that will hold me back.

It’s a decent Hilton Garden Inn with convenient access to the highway and a decent parking lot. If you’re like me and stay purely based on HHonors points, it’s your only real option in this area so you can be thankful that it is nice.
There are only two minor drawbacks. One is that the hotel is really closer to St. Catharines and not in (or near) Niagara-​on-​the-​lake. It’s probably a good 15 minute drive without any traffic. If you’re visiting for the Shaw Festival, you should be aware that you’ll have to drive in to town and find a parking space and there’s no easy way to get back to the hotel other than driving. The other thing is that while the hotel isn’t really in NOTL, it is priced like it is. This hotel is routinely priced higher than one would expect even during non-​peak season.

Clean, comfortable and nice big well equipped room. Only complaint: bar fridge was very noisy and plumbing from other guests woke me early in the morning.
A few minutes by car away from all the area attractions.
Don’t bother with on site American grill, steak was terrible. Rather try one of the many well rated places in the area.
Free parking and wifi.
I like this hotel and may return in the future.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. A 1-​night stay in October 2013. Breakfast a cut above the typical Garden Inn, but a bit pricey if it’s not included in your rate.
On the QEW and half an hour from town, so not the location for the true Niagara on the Lake vibe, if that’s what you’re after.

First, this hotel is not convenient to the Shaw Festival. It is 20 minutes out of town. The restaurant will be closed when you get back.
Second, this is not a well managed property.
We returned to a made up bed but trash, the morning’s coffee cups and water glasses in the room with folded up wet towels.
The man at the counter could not sell us a stamp, saying «we don’t know how to do that.» He suggested that they might be able to mail our letter for a fee.
No paper in the printer in the business office, with the stated implication that it was up to us to provide it.
Want a cup of coffee on the way out? Out of decaf both mornings. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
The pantry was almost bare and not restocked the three nights we spent here.
When every area of the hotel is lacking (and not particularly friendly staff) it points to bad management.
I have never written a hotel review on Unilocal or anywhere for that matter. I haven’t even checked out, but this place is just one thing after another. We leave for two more Hilton’s after this, and I am sure this is just an anomaly. Next year, we will stay near the Festival.

It was a great stay!

The Hilton Garden Inn is a modern, economy hotel with the amenities and comforts of a 4 star hotel. The restaurant has a very good menu. Thinking the soup and starter would be tiny dishes, I ordered the cream of celery and chicken quesadillas. To my surprise, the cream of celery was a magnificent bowl of warm, rich chowder. The quesadillas were 4 large tortillas with chicken, green & red pepper, red onion and sauce. Very good meal.
They serve complimentary tea & coffee in the lobby. This is super convenient if you don’t feel like making the coffee/​tea in your room. The room we booked had 2 Queen beds with an adjustable comfort level, microwave and mini fridge.
I was thinking what a missed opportunity it was for this hotel to not stock the mini-​fridge. The hospitality industry has the means to get those sensor activated mini-​fridges to detect when the stock is being depleted. The hotel could definitely have charge us more for our stay.
The biggest issue I have is the inability to close the window curtains. We were given a room overlooking the parking lot, and that’s not a big deal. I did not book this hotel to stay inside. But when night time came and I tried to close the curtains, to my disbelief, the curtain rod did not extend and hence the curtains could not be closed to block the light.
I phoned front desk to mention this and was told: this was the first complaint ever received.

The floodlights from the parking lot shone bright and directly into our room. It is impossible to sleep with this strong light distracting you.
The maintenance guy came to take a look and not only did he say he had nothing to pin the curtains with, but this was the first time he was hearing this complaint.

The hotel was a great place to stay at. The staff is courteous and friendly with quick responses. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. Beds comfortable. The location is convenient and easy to get to for Niagara falls.
I particularly liked it since it was far enough away from the falls and park that there was not a lot of traffic and the stay was quiet and relaxed. However, it was close enough that a simple taxi or drive would get you where you needed to be for site seeing.
The bar is okay and the restaurant small but serviceable from inspection. The meeting rooms downstairs are spacious and comfortable. Well suited to a small group meeting like we had. I would happy to stay here again for a trip.

I’m not a huge Hilton Garden Inn fan but our family didn’t want to pay and arm and a leg for one of the cute Bed and Breakfasts in NOTL, so we made our reservation at the HGI.
The staff that we encountered were very friendly. The lobby was bright and well appointed. We checked in early in the afternoon after a day of Wine Tasting and needed a nap. The checkin was quick and easy.
The room was basic but certainly comfortable. I appreciated the free internet.
My complaint against Hilton Garden Inns are the beds. They are very stiff which just isn’t my style.
The location was good and bad. Right across from a service station with a whole food court of sorts and certainly close to the highway. However, it is far from most of the action in downtown NOTL (about 15 – 20 minutes).

I have a tendency to think that all things chain are inferior. My recent one night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn reminded me that I might be wrong about that.
The hotel is conveniently located (I mean, everything’s driving distance, but that’s just how it is when you’re wine touring) and nice enough. The staff were friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in way early, which made our lives a bit easier. The room was clean, modern, and well appointed, with a big (ceiling height and wall width) window overlooking a lovely mini forest of trees. Such a nice change from the city.
There was an issue with the lock on one of our doors and we were given free breakfast vouchers to make up for the issue. Breakfast was buffet style and extenseive — fruit, yogurt, waffles, toast, muffins, four kinds of meat, potatoes, and either eggs or omelettes prepared to order.
The very best thing about the hotel was the patio at the back of the hotel. It gets late afternoon sun, is very quiet, and overlooks the small forest behind the hotel. A perfectly lovely place to drink wine before dinner.
I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I spent a comfortable night at the Hilton Garden Inn, just off the QEW on the outskirts of Niagara-​on-​the-​Lake.
Please note that ‘outskirts’ part. The Hilton Garden Inn is about 15 – 20 minutes from the touristy shopping area and the lakefront of Niagara-​on-​the-​Lake — in fact, it’s probably closer to parts of Niagara Falls. If you’re willing to do a bit of driving and pay for parking, the Inn is a great home base for your Niagara tourism.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the free cookies and fruit at the front desk as we came and went. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet (not included) smelled amazing. The pool and fitness areas are small but well-​appointed, and we appreciated that both were open until 11.

I guess the best way to describe my stay is: «huh, did that just happen»?
Good:
Hotel restaurant «The Great North American Grill» was better than I expected. Made to order breakfasts in the morning was quite nice. Room service, ditto. I enjoyed their hot tub, pool & gym. Free parking. Free wifi– easy access. Fridge in room.
Bad:
*Some* of the staff really confused me. Staff couldn’t give me restaurant suggestions because they’re not from around there… *ok… you do work at the hotel, right?* Their billing system was completely out of wack: swiped the plastic at least 2 separate times with 2 different cards for 3 different staff persons. My credit card company had no clue why my account wasn’t functioning at the hotel, because it was used for other purchases in Canada. As luck would have it, I overheard other hotel patrons checking out, having the same credit card declined issue: they DEF needs an updated credit card swiper-​machine.
Good:
one of their managers, apologized, sincerely about the random issues I encountered & took the time to explain that they were training some staff.
Bad:
housekeeping left a spotted but definitely bloody face towels on the rack. AC was off & the room was roasting.
so. there goes my review for a «huh, did that just happen» stay.
