Unfortunately I have to agree with the other 1-star reviews here. The owners of this restaurant used to run a more formal restaurant in the tourist district for a number of years. I had never visited, but my wife’s family always enjoyed their meals there. This seems to be an attempt at capturing a less touristy, «upscale casual» market. The restaurant is near many hotels on Lundy’s Lane, so it looked like a mixture of locals and tourists. I liked the small patio and the décor. It was very busy, so I thought this was a good sign, but it really just seemed to mean that our server was in a rush the entire time. She was pleasant enough, so I don’t blame her, but it still wasn’t a great experience. Of course my real issue was with the food and the drinks. We had the cider punch, a rum based cocktail, and weren’t impressed at all. It just didn’t have as much flavour as we were expecting. This I could have lived with, but then we ate some of the worst burgers I have ever tasted. The«jack daniels burger» was dry, overcooked and had a mess of sauce and onions plopped on top. One of our other dinner guests had the bison burger, which was also very dry and overcooked. We did mention this to the server, who just said that they were required to ensure the meat was well done. Obviously the meat needs to be fully cooked, and I could understand denying requests for rare burgers, but this is a bit much. If this is there approach to burgers, they should stick with other dishes.

Ive been here twice, about a month apart. Both on Saturday night and busy. First time was very good. Great food. Prices are great and my boyfriend and I were impressed. Its very nice inside. Although it is VERY loud with people chattering. The second time the food was mediocre. Service was decent. Definitely not consistent with the last time. To have that different food experience one month apart was odd. I’ll give it a third try hoping the last time was a fluke.

Ate here last night for New Years Eve, and had such a terrible experience that I just had to write about it here on Unilocal to warn others. Went there with my boyfriend around 7:30 p.m. and it was rather busy with most tables being taken or reserved, so we sat at the bar. Once at the bar, we were greeted by a bartender who had a sour attitude all night. We each got waters, and I got a pint of Stella beer. We were both starving and excited to eat, despite being a bit wary since the reviews on here were pretty mixed. We ordered a gnocchi with tomato sauce to share. I got a Gorgonzola burger and fries and my boyfriend got the veal sandwich and fries. Once the gnocchi came, we were happy to see that they split the pasta into two bowls for us. The satisfaction was short-lived as we took a bite and were met with the grossest gnocchi I’ve ever had. It tasted like it was store bought, already made gnocchi dumped in ragu sauce. There was absolutely no flavor and the pasta was chewy; it was clumped together in bundles of threes, and the sauce was watery and flavorless. It reminded us of a bachelor’s poor attempt at cooking dinner for the first time and trying to swoon a girl, only to fail miserably. Essentially, it became just something to put into our stomachs, but even after eating it, we started to feel a bit sick. It felt like a pound of processed, factory-made pasta just sitting in a huge ball of misery in our stomachs. Ugh. When the waitress/bartender asked how we liked our food, she was surprised when we were honest and said«not good.» My boyfriend is a cook, so he offered some advice for her to pass on, and she, with her sour attitude, did nothing to help. She didn’t even offer to wave the fee of the gnocchi off of our bill. All she did manage to say was, «well, good to know.» After about a forty minute wait, next up was our entrees — the burger and sandwich. We were a little wary since the people beside us sent back the same burger that I had ordered. When we got the food, my boyfriend noticed the black colour on the burger patty and tapped it with his fork. I was alarmed when the sound of metal tapping on hard plastic was what I heard; it sounded like a piece of charcoal being thrown into a well. Suffice to say, not good. I also noticed that the caramelized onions were missing. The girl apologized and grabbed some for me. What she brought back was not caramelized onions. They were like onions that were thrown into a pan for a quick hello and an even faster goodbye. They were slimy, gross and cold, and I couldn’t even bring myself to put them on my already-terrible burger, if you could even call it that. The burger in itself was salty and flavorless and the fries were tasteless. In fact, the fries, which, in theory, are so simple to make, were a mixture of old fries that were obviously reheated in the oil after already being cooked. This was evidenced by the dark, dark brown mixed in with the already dark fries. In fact, the different shades of brown in the bowl of fries told a real story of the age of the fries. You could almost index them by color, like some sort of geological aging process. Disgusting. We ended being so fed up that we asked for doggy bags and left. The bill came to $ 56, money that we did not want to spend since it was not worth it. We went home and my boyfriend properly caramelized some onions for the burger. I know this has been long, but I’m sitting here, still feeling sick and resentful the next day over that awful meal. Not only did it ruin our New Years eve, leaving us lying in bed, no glass of wine in hand, agonizing over the pain and need to throw up. This post is our chance to make up for that terrible meal, loss of New Years Eve, and somehow make the money we spent, worth it. I highly recommend that you do NOT go here. Trust us, you’ll be glad you didn’t.

This place is alright. It’s fancy and upscale looking, and the presentation of the food is decent. But the food itself lacks any excitement and is pretty standard stuff. I ended up getting the prime rib sandwich and my buddy the bison number 1 sandwich. My sandwich was pretty dry and overall forgettable. It’s a very female friendly place. The entire plaza is like that, I think. It has a salon and spa, a frozen yogurt place, lingerie, yoga, and this fancy restaurant they call a sip house. The drinks are fruity and colourful and sugary. When I checked it out on a beautiful afternoon me and my buddy were the only dudes there and the rest of the patrons were females. We were on the patio and it was jam packed. I’d say this is a nice place to just chill out and sip on fancy drinks, and I guess you could eat some food if you’re hungry.

upon hearing news of a new place opening on the lane I felt obligated to try it out unfortunately for me i did. It was valentines day and i ordered the special it was risotto with shrimp skewers and steak. The dessert was tiramisu and it was included. not only was our table so small we couldn’t fit our drinks on it. but the shrimp was overcooked and gritty like it was dragged through the sand on its way into the kitchen. The risotto was undercooked gritty and bland. I complained(which i normally don’t do in restaurants) and they gave me 50% of my meal and charged me extra for dessert which was supposed to come free with the meal. Suffice to say I didn’t expect to be returning until a good friend of mine decided to make reservations for her birthday. I begrudgingly attended. her reservation was for 8 and we didn’t get seated till 9 the dining room was loud and cold because it was still too early in the year to have the patio open. As hard as It was to call the attention of the wait staff we finally got drinks and food. I ordered a salad because of my past experience which wasn’t bad but I was stuck listening to everyone else complain about their meals. After trying to get the bill for 20 minutes we all decided we won’t be coming back. For real this time.

I went there for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. This place looks great, the food was pretty good and the beer was cold. I sat at a table in the bar area and it was comfortable and the place is new so it’s clean. I’ll go back again soon with my family so we can try dinner in the dinning room and see how they fare.

I don’t understand why people like this restaurant. I ordered raviolis one time. I got FOUR raviolis. FOUR. With a VERY watery red sauce. Worst dinner decision ever. Went back a month later hoping some other dish might be better. Ordered a pizza. It came out with NOCHEESE. WHATTHEHELL! So I wrote this place off. The bar area looks nice though. The dining room is too noisy. There’s nothing stopping the sound. Like a big cafeteria. For good Italian/Mediterranean food head over to café amore in st Catharine’s. Way better deal.

Last night was my second time going to this restaurant. When I first came in here, I was attracted by the environment. Food was good but the green bean soup is not as my expected. This time I ordered the white bean soup which is last night’s special which is delicious. We ordered spaghetti and lobster which were great! Great dinner in Niagara Falls area. It has amazing location cuz it’s just right beside the outlet~

Getting really good food at a respectable price is a challenge in Niagara Falls, but thankfully, there is Strada to feed the foodies! This was our second visit for lunch, and the staff were as friendly as before. The décor is modern, clean, airy and bright. The wine list is not extensive, but has most of the bases covered with solid selections. It was easy to find some wine to match the meal, but I wish they would add some bubbly to the list, especially with all the seafood available here. Service is prompt and friendly, and the wait is reasonable considering the food is made to order. My wife had the Greens & Beans soup — a delicious version of the homestyle Italian soups that I grew up with. She also had the caesar salad, garnished with homemade croutons and real bacon(or was that pancetta, I can’t tell you because she ate it all!). We shared the spicy mussels — terrific, perfectly cooked, with a delicious broth that has just the right bit of tang to spice it up without overpowering the dish. Then it was on to the pescatore pasta, which I had with gluten free pasta. The seafood was delicious — prawns, clams, scallops, squid, mussels and even some lobster perfectly cooked in a delicious tomato sauce. This time the pasta was a little overcooked(gluten free pasta is tricky to cook for those not in the know), but the flavor was delicious, and I finished every last scrap. Looking forward to coming back again!
