The first time I dined in the Revolving Restaurant in September 2014, I thought it was really good. The view is obviously incredible and the food, though pricey, was quite nice. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. My girlfriend and I ordered prime rib. The vast majority of it was gristle, and the rest of it was so undercooked it could’ve walked off the plate on it’s own, had we not held it down with our forks… this was after specifically requesting medium cook. It was served with a side of two(yes TWO) baby potatoes and three small pieces of broccoli. For $ 34.95. The 8 year old ordered spaghetti and meatballs off the children’s menu for $ 17.95. I’d be willing to bet money her dish was pulled straight out of a freezer and tossed into a microwave. Fine dining? I think not. Something else worth noting, the tables were so tightly placed together that it was virtually impossible to slide your chair back to get out for a trip to the restroom or even to leave. I don’t recall it being that tight during my first visit. It’s almost as if they’ve tried to cram a few extra tables in. When there’s not enough room for a 3 year old to fit through, you know setbacks are too close together. If you’re looking for a great dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Falls, I’d highly recommend visiting Watermark in the Hilton instead. Everything about that place is top notch!

Had brunch at the Skylon Tower this Sunday. Thank you to the other Unilocal reviews as I arrived early and was seated in the middle of the restaurant with a lovely view. Brunch is served on the floor without the rotation. The food within the buffet was okay, nothing special. It included various salads, scrambled eggs, meats(bacon, sausage, chicken & beef), pasta and a assortment of desserts. The service was great, very prompt and waiters checked in on us throughout the meal. Around 11am, the restaurant became very crowded as tour groups started arriving for their lunch which made the dinning experience a little more intense and loud. We left shortly after. With your meal at the restaurant, you are able to see the observation deck and also ride up the tower for free. This experience was great for the views and spending time with loved ones.

Loved our meal from start to finish. Superb service, unbeatable view, fantastic food. Much more expensive than we ever spend on dinner, but the ambience, view, food quality and the tower ride being included was well worth it. Looking forward to taking our pre-teen with us when we visit next year.

My husband and I went to visit Niagara Falls this summer and I promised myself to write about our dining experience. The view alone is worth 5 stars but the quality of the buffet food was definitely something(me being ironic). Food was flavorless and the beef was so chewy it felt like I was chewing on something plastic. The desserts were dry and overloaded with sugar, artificial coloring and cream. So disappointing. The waiters were friendly and came with our drink orders fast. I left the buffet still hungry — but I am still glad I went up there for the view but would never go back to eat at the restaurant.

Surprised my family by bringing them here for dinner during our vacation to Niagara Falls. This place is famous for being 54 floors high with a revolving dining area that overlooks the Niagara Falls. We came during the early dinner seating(4:30pm &5pm) which I would highly recommend doing. The prices, although still high, are more reasonable than the regular dinner menu. You also have a better view of the Niagara Falls during sunset as opposed to coming during dinner time. The early dinner costs $ 36CAD per person and includes salad, an entrée of your choice(salmon, chicken, steak, prime rib, or pasta), and chocolate mousse. They start you off with a basket of warm & yummy french rolls. The salad came in a small bowl & was overdressed & mediocre. I ordered the prime rib which came with potato & veggies. You have the option to substitute any of your sides for rice & french fries. I substituted my veggies for rice. My prime rib was nothing short of excellent… cooked and seasoned perfectly. My sister ordered the steak with bernaise sause which was also delicious. The mousse was pretty good but they do offer other options such as crème brûlée, cheesecakes, and apple pie for an extra $ 4CAD. After dinner, you’re welcome to go upstairs and view the observation deck. By the time we got up there, it was already cold & windy so we couldn’t enjoy the view. Although this place is pricey, it was a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would highly recommend. The only reason for minus 1 star is because the service was just okay… our server was pretty snobby and kept calling our dinner«the early bird special.»

The view and food are both 5 stars hands down but one thing that was so annoying was the elevator operator. On the way up I asked how fast we are going as well as our height. He seemed bothered by my questions. So naturally on the way down I asked more. I asked do you ever get tired of this view. He said yes(again he felt bothered) grabbed his phone and started playing on it. Now let’s talk about the arcade. Got 5 dollars worth of chips. Skeeball ate 2 chips, boomerang air hockey took the 4 but no puck to play. The game where you push coins for tickets, coin jammed. Everything was busted and guess what, no one on staff to help fix the problems.

I think the Skylon is a little outdated and WAY overpriced. The experience is made better by the sights around you. I ordered a Greek salad(just lettuce no chicken and hardly any toppings) and it cost over $ 20. It was ridiculous. I also got a cup of chicken noodle soup for $ 10. I don’t know to me it should of cost $ 10 total. They need to update the menu, ambiance, and the pricing. It’s definitely not a restaurant I would return to often. Two stars for the view not the food.

We dined here during the early dinner. It is definitely an experience to have. The drinks were really good. I had the strawberry daiquiri. I would NOT recommend the beef stroganoff. I barely ate any. I would choose something else. The desert was yummy.

My wife and I ate here for the first time in October 2015. Tip #1: If you eat at the restaurant the observation tower is included FREE of charge. Just check-in inside at the base of the tower. Tip #2: Make a reservation ahead of time. That can easily be done online. Tip #3: If you are on a budget or don’t like to waste money, go to the restaurant and not the buffet and go in no later than 5:00pm for the(much cheaper) early bird seating and menu. Tip #4: If you go during the fall, winter or spring, eat slowly as we did so you can be seated in the restaurant when they light-up Niagara Falls in colors at dark. For us that was a 7:00pm. Tip #5: When we went, parking was $ 15, but about 50 ft away was an independent lot parking cars for $ 8. This second lot touched the one that was charging $ 15, that is how close it was. Now on with the review… Restaurant: The atmosphere was truly amazing. My wife and I have eaten at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas(another elevated revolving restaurant) and The Skylon Tower had such a better view. Service: You will have several waiters/waitresses as they all work together. We were lucky to get an amazing waiter named Marco. He was great and the service was 5 star. Our glasses were never empty. Tip #6: Tap water is free. Tip #7: You get free refills on soft drinks. Tip #8: They offer a souvenir glass(in the shape of the tower) with your soft drink for and extra price, get it, it is worth the few extra dollars to have the memory of your night. Food: I had the Grilled Salmon. .. I will say this, we had a 8 day vacation all over the Northeastern United States and Canada, we are foodie couple and the Salmon at Skylon was by far the best meal I had our entire vacation. In fact, the Skylon Tower Revolving Restaurant Grilled Salmon was the best Salmon dish I have ever eaten anywhere. Completely a 5 star dish. My wife had the Prime Rib, it also tasted amazing and was prepared perfectly. It had a small bit of fat, which was appropriate for the cut and cost. There is better Prime Rib available in the restaurant industry, but at twice the cost that we paid. I would not change a thing about our meal or time in this restaurant. Dessert: A mousse is included with the early bird menu meals, I opted for that. It was a simple chocolate mousse in a small bowl. It was very good, light and refreshing. My wife upgraded(for $ 4) to the Cheesecake. .. . OMG, amazing!!! This was a large, super tasting piece of Cheesecake. Definitely worth the money and we would order in again for sure. I think it was a chocolate caramel cheesecake. Misc: The restaurant provide light entertainment in the form of a performer playing the piano. He was good and the playing was at a lower volume level. See Images for more information Overall, I consider this a MUSTDO if you will be in the Niagara Falls, Ontario area. Visited October 2015

You pay for the experience. Its worth it in my opinion. I had dinner in the main dining room, as opposed to the buffet. I arrived at 745, I had an 8 o’clock reservation. Was in lift line before 8 but probably got inside resturant because of line at 8:07. Though I think it’s good to be safe and make reservations… I think they seat you as you arrive. The couple behind me had 830 reservations but was seated with the 8o’clock arrivals. The reservations make things run smoother… you’ll need proof to get on the lift. I was seated at a window table. I had a shrimp mussle scallop pasta dish and the Skylon tower drink(both delish) I think my total was $ 56US but it included my trip up to the towers observation deck. The food was good and my service was excellent. Someone walks around and photographs you. If interested in purchasing the photos are $ 30 for two– souvenir quality. The VIEW was amazing the falls were lit and it was wonderful to view from so high. We rotated a full time around and a little over during my dinner. After dinner I stayed upstairs for another half hour on the observation deck waiting on fireworks. I was a tourist amd I was pleased with my full experience. I’ve paid more for meals elsewhere.

The prices are absolutely insane but you’re paying for the views not the meal. In terms of the meal: I ordered the French onion soup which was made with a chicken broth it was quite good. I also got the seafood pasta which was incredibly bland. There was definitely a lack of flavor like no flavor at all. For dessert I ordered the apple pie a la mode which was absolutely delicious! Overall, I don’t think I would head back for a huge dinner like I did tonight. It ended up being around $ 100 per person Canadian for a 3 person meal.

NOTE — Skylon’s 700 foot + tower contains a revolving restaurant and a stationary 360 degree observation deck. This review is for the observation deck of the tower. My trip to Skylon tower was part of a half day total immersion tour of the falls. Going up Skylon tower as part of an immersion tour was an enjoyable experience, but I would not recommend going out of your way to make a trip up the tower. The view was pretty cool, you get an unobstructed birds eye view of miles of great lakes region countryside. You can definitely see the city of Buffalo and you can make out the skyline of Toronto in the distance. The observation lounge has a ton of markers that give you the history of the Niagara area and point out land marks. My overall recommendation, Skylon tower is not a bad diversion on your trip to Niagara Falls, but, to be honest, the best view of the falls is right next to the falls. Seeing the falls in a boat or in the parks of the American or Canadian side really bring home the sense of grandeur in nature that the falls invoke. Skylon’s bird’s eye view, while interesting, doesn’t inspire the awe that comes with proximity.

Overall experience was quite nice. We came to the Skylon for a prix fix dinner. Which was the right choice based on the buffet reviews. For $ 35 you get a three course meal– not the best but not the worst– and access to the observation deck which is $ 10 alone. Our waiter Tom was very charming and sweet and a local who gave us some good tips for the area. The views were the best in niagara Falls. Better than the ground floor and the boat view. Worth it just for an easy meal at sunset and some amazing photos. Yes the food was not the best. But considering the type of people they get, a good meal could be much more expensive. Salmon was good. Not great. They did cater immensely to gluten free folk. I would recommend this place just to get the view. The prix fix is the only food way to go– so sit, relax and swirl around.

Really nice observation deck. I did not try the restaurant(and judging from the other reviews, I would skip it if I ever return here). I’m a sucker for observation decks/revolving restaurants. I’m that person that is easily ‘wow-ed’ and I usually will Unilocal«restaurants with a view» or «bars with a view» when doing my research for visiting a new city. When you experience a waterfall, you want to be at the bottom of it looking up or way high up overlooking it. Being right at the top of the waterfall doesn’t give you much of a view. The Skylon Tower is on the Canada side of Niagara Falls and offers a wondrous overlooking view of the Falls. We got some priceless photo ops up here. When you enter the tower, you’ll find the ticket booth, some souvenir shops, and the elevators that take you up to the observation deck and restaurant. Our wait for the elevator was less than 10 minutes, but I can see how the lines could get long as they had those Disneyland-like ropes set up. Prior to the elevator, there are official photographers and a green screen for some souvenir photos that can be later purchased. The ride to the top and observation deck ticket costs about $ 14(Canadian) and is worth every penny! You can save a couple of dollars by booking online in advance.

Although we only swung by for the view, the Skylon Tower is definitely a tourist attraction. My group paid about $ 12 and change apiece to take the elevator to the top. You also get discounts on food and movies with your ticket purchase.

The most romantic place in the world. I celebrated my anniversary there. My husband and I were so happy. If you want to get there quickly you better make reservations and pay your ticket online. It was packed– so packed; the line was so long that reached the street. The wifi in the gift shop is free. Theres no wifi in the tower.

Over all experienced was good. Don’t expect too much from this place just a nice decent buffet/dinner with the family. You’ll get 90 mins at the buffet. After that head upstairs to look at the view stay as long as you want. For 2 adults 2 kids Around $ 112 with taxes

You definitely are paying for the view at this restaurant. The food is good but not justified by the price. However, with that being said, it’s a tourist attraction, so know that going in. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation. We were told to take elevator 3 to the restsurant. We had to wait in line, where they try to take your picture. After waiting 20 minutes in line, we got on the elevator. I had the seafood pasta, which was good, but nothing to write home about. My martini was good, but they charge 4 dollars more for a «large», which seemed like a normal size to me. Our servers were friendly, nice and prompt. They made the experience enjoyable! It was a nice experience and glad we did it, but I would not go back again. At least you get free access to the observation level, which you can enjoy after dinner !

I think I write reviews in my dreams now. I swear I wrote one before. I also swear that it was amazing. It was the greatest review in the world. This review is just a tribute to that review. Am I the only one that immediately thinks of Battlestar Galactica here? Anyway, we went here for dinner at sunset. Excellent views, no question. Hopefully if you’re on the inside seating there aren’t very tall people in your way; otherwise, you’ll be fine. The food was the best we had in Niagara. In particular, the Sea Bass($ 49) is awesome. A good helping of fish, but not so much on the sides. In fact, those were bland and lame. The bread was also cold. Cold bread and butter is not a good combo. Also note that you can’t share because there’s a minimum charge per person of $ 44. But don’t go here just for the food. Please, please don’t. Enjoy the view, particularly at sunset. You’ll spin around and see far and wide, but if you time it right, you’ll get a great view both during the day and night. After dinner, go upstairs to the observation deck. We marveled at the Falls at when they’re all lit up, which is cool but not actually as cool as you hope(up close is definitely better). There’s info up there too on what in the distance, which is nice. Anyway, the funny thing is that this review is nothing like that review. This is just a tribute.

I was there alone, and when I mentioned to the tourist office that I wanted to see the view from the tower, I was told, that if I ate at the restaurant I would have access to the observatory floor and I did. The food at the buffet was great for me, as a vegetarian, I was able to find a lot of great dishes. I stuffed myself and enjoy the gorgeous view, while eating. Afterwards I went to the observatory and absolutely adored it. I spent a very long time there, taking pictures, filming and just looking out at the beautiful sunset. Of course I had to do abstraction to the screaming kids and screaming parents alike, but over all my experience was great. Perhaps because I was alone.
