Me and the Mrs. visited Qila while on route, our Niagara Falls experience! The only thing that dragged us here… empty stomach + Buffet! Clearly, we were thinking with our stomachs and let me tell you, it was just about an OK experience! The food is just passable. Nothing amazing about their buffet! Not bad either. Perfect to fill up the hungry bellies I suppose! Service wise, just 1 complaint… we arrived at 3:00 pm, so weren’t sure if they serve bread at the table or at buffet(in NYC, most Indian buffets serve bread at the table). at Qila, we weren’t sure. So by the time we finished our meal, we noticed, they were serving hot bread at the buffet… not cool! The buffet is decent enough @ $ 12.99 though. decent options!

The price for the lunch buffet was great. This place is awesome for travellers on a budget, and is the best restaurant in Niagara that’s worth the money. There are options for bot vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Loved the lentil soup and the aloo gobi. There’s tons of space and lots of seating. The server we had was incredibly nice. The rice was on the cold side though. Also, the bathrooms need some major cleaning.

Was there on 2 days ago and i just could not get this place out of mind because of the cartoon character of owners of this place. We searched this place online and found mixed reviews so went ahead and gave it a try. Big mistake. As we entered the place, we saw the owner arguing with one of the customers, because the customer was filling the buffet box to max capacity. Fine, if you cant fill the bix given to you by the restaurant to max capacity, there should be a sign up. Anyways, funny part was how the owner kept repeating loudly to the customer, «no no no, you can not fill it to full like that, that is not how it works». Anyways, we ordered anyways.($ 20 inc tax per person for buffet). Taking heed from how the owner was talking to another customer, we took small portions BUT when we were picking then naan pieces, the male owner walked up and said«you can ONLY take 4 chopped up pieces», even though we had not taken any naan piece yet and were checking for more fresh pieces. Anyways, a few seconds later, the female owner walked by and says«you can take ONLY5 pieces», clearly contradicting her husband. But the way she said it, it almost felt like she was giving it away fir free or we were going to run with the whole box. In short, rude ownets, smelly place. Food was not good either. Would recommend trying other places up the road.

Gross. We went here for their dinner buffet when we were visiting Niagara Falls. The buffet had ONLY curries and wet dishes. No dry dishes at all. Meaning only daal, chicken curries, goat curry and other curries. There were no sabjis or anything. It was gross. The naan was okay and so was the raita but that’s about it. It’s so weird to have a buffet with only curry dishes and nothing dry. They had«indo-Chinese» food which was just noodles. The«fried rice» was just rice with vegetables. Nothing Chinese or Indian about it. The service wasn’t very good either.

Tried the Chinese section of the menu. Not a very good idea. Does not compare to most other Indian Chinese food I’ve had in the past.

I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for the décor & all the rugs on the floor. It was our first time eating Indian food so didn’t know what to expect except that it would be spicy. Our party included a 2, 7&9 years old children, an elderly and someone that doesn’t really care for spicy foods. We were the only customers(early dinner). As we uncovered the buffet trays the food didn’t look appetizing but we were open minded. We all took a little of everything… YUMMY! We all had our favorites but we all agreed that the Naan was very delicious! Even the children & my friend that doesn’t care for spicy foods went up for more food. The cook(I guess he was the head cook-tall Spanish man) came out to check on the buffet because a group of 100 people came in. He even came to our table to ask if we wanted more Naan because it was running out. When we all yelled in agreement, he quickly went to the kitchen and got us freah steaming naan. The staff were very accommodating, they even made sweet milk for the children because of the spice. After the children’s tongue cooled, they went up for more food. We were all stuffed. We had no problem with stomach aches & pain(except from being stuffed)…and trust me my husband’s stomach is sensitive. Even the children had no problems. Thank you Qila for making our first experience with Indian food wonderful!

Please don’t waste your money and time, I was so tired trying to find a Indian buffet, i walked in to this restaurant, I find no one except us, the owner convinced us it’s not a busy day and it’s too early, I thought I will give it s try, I tried some food it’s not tasty at all but still I ate a little coz I was hungry but later realized the meat smells, I checked other dishes too I figured the food is not fresh, as they are not that busy they are serving food from previous day leftovers, I saw hard layer farmed on chicken in chicken biryani it can only happen when you refrigerate the food and re heat it. I confront him on his face he said, as it’s not busy they kept it out long that’s why I see that dry layer but I went there around noon how can meat go bad at lunch time? If you prepare it for lunch? If you served the same food for dinner I can accept it but not that early. I would say they are cheap people trying to play with people’s health, don’t risk your health guys.

My friends and I visited this restaurant in June on vacation. We wanted a quick lunch before we made the 7 hour drive back home. Originally we planned on getting take out and finding a park on the American side, but upon learning they had a lunch buffet, we decided to stay. We were early, so not everything was ready yet, but the servers invited us to begin eating. Everything was delicious. They kept bringing us fresh hot naan, soft, chewy and buttery. I had intended on eating lightly since we had a long drive ahead of us, but I stuffed myself to the point where I wanted a nap. I thought that was the worst part, but I was wrong. The day after returning from Canada I found myself in the bathroom suffering from diarrhea and vomiting(I spent so much time in the bathroom I set up camp in there). I wasn’t sure it was the restaurant, until I talked to one of my friends who said her boyfriend had gotten sick as well. I was really sick for about two days, and for a week after had to take it easy regarding what I ate. We were surprised that we were the only table in the restaurant, but chalked that up to it being early lunch on Monday. Now I think I know why it was so empty…

I really enjoyed the food here and they’re open pretty late(latest I went there to eat at the buffet was around 10:30). The staff were really nice and helpful. I don’t eat indian regularly so I can’t comment on the quality or the variety really, but the buffet was honestly enough for me and I thought it was good. It does fill you up really fast though.

Reading the negative reviews I had very little expectations of this place. But we were doing a family trip to Niagara Falls and looking for an Indian/pakistani restaurant. We had their dinner buffet and it was pretty good., good selection of veg and non– veg dishes. Their beef curry was amazing and also enjoyed the kichri and veg options. Food was oily but as you would expect at any other desi buffet

I would give this hotel a 2.5 stars. I was staying in the hotel close by and this restaurant was close and convenient for take out. The have a seat in menu and a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. The buffet didn’t entice us much so we stuck to our our place to take out. The server was quite friendly and took the time to explain us the stuff. The restaurant looks like it needs to do a make over as it looks ancient and old. We ordered Chicken fried rice, Beef kababs and a naan. The food was packed nicely which kept it warm and the portions were great. But the food was average. The kababs were nice but they were hard on the ends when it should have been moist and soft just like the middle. The fried rice were decent till we found an egg shell and a bone in it. The naan was good as it looked like they made it fresh in the tandoor. The place servers halal meat.

We went to Qila last night after walking the area looking for something different from the typical chain restaurants with flavorless and fried food. Happy we took a chance! Granted, the décor of this place is funky – it’s obviously a former theater or Italian restaurant and bar from the 70s – remade with very little updates. But don’t let the décor or the other reviews here sway you! The food was excellent! Perfect Aloo Gobi, delicious Korma… and the garlic naan was one of the best I’ve ever had. Add to that the service. The 2 guys who seem to own /run the place were delightful. Very accommodating and friendly. They even made a special noodle dish for my wife by request(and it was great). Take a chance – this place is really nice!

Dont want to be too harsh. But the curries suck. I ordered Chiken Karahi yesterday and there was everything in there BUTCHICKEN. The food was very Oily and nothing was fresh. Every ingredient was used out of a can. Especially the tomatoes. The only thing that was a bit reasonable was the Chk tikka botis. I will never return to this place again.

Food was fresh but this is the only things which you san say or else evry thing was worst. Here is the detail, NO Nihari, NO Qorma, No Haleem, No Chicken Tikka, No Beef Kabab. They said Biryani but that one was worst buryani i ever had, NO Spicy at all and No meat in there. Chicaken Karahi haha haha it was a joke, Lot of big pieces of onion and tomatoes and buckets of water, you have to searh for the meat. Qeema was too watery and hardly i get few pieces of ground beef else was water, Spinach was so bad and not tasty even, over all food was not good and $ 13.00 per head. so expensive. Not recommended
