Best Chinese buffet I have ever had. The restaurant is super clean, service is excellent. You are greeted by smiling faces and hot towels. The buffet has 150 items — the food feels very fresh, even the salad with mangoes and chickpeas is to die for. The soups are invigorating. The chicken, pork dishes are delicious. There is also a bbq station which is fresh and tasty. Finally the dessert station is massive and yummy.

Food was great, service was great and the price was very reasonable considering what you are getting. The general tso’s chicken is by far the best I’ve ever had and there were plenty options. We went on a Tuesday night and it was fairly busy so my guess is you’ll probably need a reservation on a weekend. Prime rib was perfectly cooked and the Boston clam chowder was great. Lots of buffets do not serve liquor, but this place has an extensive liquor and beer menu. The only knock I had on it was the lack of a raw fish sushi, but that’s not a big enough deal to put it down from 5 stars, this place was amazing

I’m Chinese American and was visiting Niagara Falls with my family We were looking for a decent Chinese restaurant and well, Unilocal/Google suggested this place — very high ratings. The reviews are spot on — this buffet is actually pretty awesome and better than most buffets I’ve been to. They have an amazing selection of food and also have a great selection of desserts. If I ever visit Niagara Falls again, I’d definitely come here again.

It’s the Mandarin and its a buffet. If it was cheaper it would get that fifth star. One of my favourite restaurants.

As you can tell from the name, it’s more of an Asian buffet and they do have Mandarin(s) in Toronto too. But honestly, the one in Niagara Falls is one of the best Mandarin that I’ve been to(even before this time). As we went on a weekday, so we were seated pretty quick too! I guess it’s all about timing. Some days or occasions, we have to reserve a table because we’d go in a big group and on a weekend… which can get pretty busy and hectic even when it comes to just getting food. After being seated, our waitress gave us these fancy hot towels, which are common at the end of your meal in Chinese restaurants and buffets. Rarely have I been given one before my meal. and in a buffet setting as well. Our waitress was really enthusiastic when listing their specialty food and drinks. After she was listing the loooonnngggg list of seasonal drinks, I rejected her at the end, stating water is fine. Felt bad, but at the same time, wanted to cut her off in the middle for her to save her breath but that’d be kind of rude too right… Anyways, they were still on the Moon Festival/Thanksgiving mood so they do have some seasonal related food items. Butter-squash soup was one of the best things I’ve had in Mandarin like ever! It was soooooooo good! Sadly, as I never had butter-squash soup before, I didn’t take a big portion in case I didn’t like it. And to my dismay, when I wanted to go for Round 2, I overheard the servers switching the pot to Clam Chowder and proclaiming that the next batch of butter-squash soup would be 3 hours… :(! So my happiness was short lived. A few other things I fancied while I was here were the sushi, their grilled/roasted section of steaks/meat, and the mussels with spicy black bean sauce! Mmmmmmmm. I adore mussels and oysters lately. I used to dislike it, but my tongue(for about a year) developed a liking for it. I’d like to point out their ice cream section — they have tons of ice cream flavours compared to other buffets that I’ve seen. They have flavours like bubble gum, cotton candy, plus the usual chocolate, vanilla and strawberry as well ahaha Their toppings section includes butterscotch drizzle(pictured on the left) and chocolate drizzle(on the right), and their sprinkle toppings include rainbow, crushed kit kat, oreo cookie crumbles, and mini m&m-s. I’m sorry… Mandarin had me at Kit kat. I laaaaaaaaaaaaaaave kitkat. was just surprising to me how that was an option within the buffet. Definitely +1 for me. Overall, the experience was decent — considering a buffet, service was okay — but they did upgrade their service style, and the food was decent as well. However, out of all of the other locations, I like this one the most :) !

Went here yesterday for an early dinner. I’m not a big buffet person as I don’t like to overeat so we ordered the combination plate with chicken balls, beef and vegetables, chicken fried rice, and and egg roll — all for $ 9.99. It was all cooked perfectly in about 15 minutes. It tasted really good with the chicken balls not having too much breeding. The rice has amazing flavor. The place looks nice inside, with it being decorated big time. The staff is super friendly, they all seem to work together, like a well oiled machine. They really do take care of you here. You really can’t go wrong eating here, we look forward to our next visit!

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Food is GREAT, service is excellent. Staff is friendly and ever present. It is a littly pricey for a Chinesse buffet… but you get what you pay for. Have been ther multiple times with no dissapointment.

Saturday dinner, all the good stuff, crab legs, steak, prime rib, and all my favorites. Boston clam chowder, sushi, cheese cake, bread pudding, yogurt, all good food. The service was friendly but repeatedly. Very nice when they brake out of the routine. I enjoy the food and service for what it was. Large buffet room over 4 hot lines, 2 cold/salad lines, soups, 2 desert lines, hard ice cream and soft serve yogurt. 4 large dinning rooms. Don’t forget the high HST taxes.

Coming here for lunch, I was expecting something pretty memorable and what I got was satisfying and tasty, but not consistent and superior. For $ 20(holiday price) the variety of options is pretty solid, but you have to eat A LOT to get your money’s worth so only go here if you are super hungry. As for the food quality/selection, it was hit or miss. The Chinese meat dishes were pretty well done. There was a mouthwatering sauce on the pork and the grilled salmon/mussels were quite tasty as well. However, the sushi selection/quality was underwhelming to say the least; there were around six rolls available and they were all quite westernized(shrimp/chicken tempura, California, a «lemon chicken roll» which was not quite sushi but was pretty good). There was also shrimp nigiri, which would only be there periodically and tasted a bit off. I know sushi is not the headlining act here, but it was a huge draw for me and I expected a bit better. The presentation was a bit messy and unappetizing, but you have to expect that from such a crowded buffet. The service was present and there was huge selection of ice cream but the scoopers were so small, making it impossible to really get a good portion. To an extent, I feel like this restaurant subliminally tricks you into under-portioning yourself. However, it is what it is. Most of it tasted good, but I don’t know if I would come here again. The interior is nice tho; check it out if you are hungry.

Mandarin is a solid chinese buffet, but I certainly wouldn’t call it the best asian(or even best buffet) restaurant ever. It’s a much better alternative to the high priced tourist spots close to the falls, but it’s no bargain either. At the current exchange rate, it’s $ 24CAD/$ 18US for dinner during the week, $ 31CAD/$ 23.50US on the weekend, plus tax and beverages, it’s not cheap. The«trees» in the middle of the dining room add a lot to the ambiance, and the servers are always on hand to take empty plates and refill drinks. The food is hot and replenished regularly. Cotton candy for the kids is a nice touch. I can’t find fault with the Mandarin, but at the same time, I’ve had better food for cheaper elsewhere.

If you want to get away for a little bit from the touristy hustle and bustle of the Niagara Falls area, the Mandarin Restaurant is located a ways from all the tourist traps. This buffet is the first of it’s kind which aims to please it’s customers. From the moment you walk in, you will be escorted by a hostess who will show you around the buffet. You’ll then be walked over to one of the restaurant’s themed dining rooms. The food is another story, each entrée prepared to a better than your typical buffet quality, almost Las Vegas like, with an extra labor of love. The service is phenomenal, each server giving a little more effort than your average buffet server. Peter, was one of our servers and made great conversation with us and very kind enough to give us some tips and to do recommendations in the area. The highlight of the Mandarin Restaurant for me was their asian streetfood style bbq and their ice cream bar. One of the things you must try here is their cotton candy with several scoops of ice cream on top. That alone makes this restaurant a hit.

Amazing place! A must go to if in the area. Our waiter Joe Z was on point. The service from the moment you walk in is exceptional. The buffet and choices are beyond any one I have ever been to. Enjoy!

The best Chinese buffet I have been to all my life, period. So far that is. This place is clean looking, food looked fresh and delicious, staffs were so nice and polite, damn I wish we had one of these in America. The moment you come in you are greeted with kindness, then they got hot lemon towels that they hand out to you before you eat and after you leave. There was a mixture of american food and Chinese, but I only stuck to eating Chinese. I wanted to try everything, but no room in my tummy, this would need to be a two day event to cover all the food they have there. Their dessert bar has a wide selection, they have ice cream and a soft serving yogurt machine. We were there during the Lunar Moon Festival so they had moon cake as part of their dessert and was handing out little lantern as a gift. I’m definitely will come back to this spot when i’m visiting Canada again.

Best Asian Restaurant — EVER! The food is excellent and the staff is well-trained and caring about your dining experience. We’ve not found better, anywhere. When visiting Niagara Falls be sure to save time for dinner at the Mandarin Buffet on the Canadian side. Bring your passport and cross over the border into Canada from New York for the best meal of your vacation. As owners of a number one restaurant for four of our five years in business, Kevin and I know excellent food and management. Our desire is to direct you to the best restaurants we can find and the Mandarin is probably our favorite dining experience of all time. It tops our list with no close second. With over 20 Mandarin Buffets in southwestern Ontario, Canada you might think that quality of food would disintegrate upon franchise or expansion and in many cases that’s the sad truth. But in this rare case, it has not. I’d be interested in knowing the Mandarin Buffet Mission Statement. It’s obvious they have placed a high value on consistent food quality and well-trained staff. It is refreshing whenever we find a restaurant that can adhere to the basic values of atmosphere, service, and quality while growing. So many good restaurants have had the misfortune of sacrificing what set them apart in the beginning, in order to become bigger. The offering of excellent food, excellent training, and the highest standards all-around makes the Mandarin a rising star in the culinary cosmos. We highly recommend the Mandarin Buffet Niagara Falls on Montrose Road in the mall. It’s kind of weird to find, due to the confusing sign at the entrance to the mall. But don’t walk through the mall; just keep driving around the parking lot until you find it. Hint: It’s over by the Cineplex Odeon Square Cinemas. The restaurant is always busy, so reservations are encouraged for prompt seating. If you have to wait a bit, you’ll love passing your time at the Koi pond in the waiting room. But don’t throw coins in, as it harms the fish. Before your meal you will be offered and warm lemony cloth to wash your hands and face. This is so luxurious and such an unexpected treat. One of my very favorite Asian dishes is Seaweed Salad, which originates in Japan and uses Wakame, an edible seaweed. Mandarin has the best I’ve ever tasted. Sweet, vinegary and filled with hidden iron nutrients, it’s great for the thyroid. New studies conducted at Hokkaido University have found that a compound in Wakame knows as fucoxanthin can help burn fatty tissue too. Hey, no wonder I love it. The variety of foods offered will overwhelm your senses. You’ll never be able to try a bite of everything without exploding, so pick what you like and save room for dessert. Their ice cream bar is scrumptious. How much do we love this restaurant? We live in Arizona and would plan our next vacation anywhere in the world to make sure we stopped here for a meal. THAT’s how much we love it. Two thumbs WAY up to manager Jeff Ge and his staff. Mandarin Niagara Falls 7555 Montrose Rd, Niagara Falls Ontario L2H2E9 Telephone 905−358−7000

This is the best Chinese buffet restaurant ever! The service and food are all amazing! I recommend the dinner time. The cream soup, ribs, mushed potatoes, egg tart, deep fried shrimp, and sushi are the best in this restaurant.

Went to NF for a day trip with the family. Looking to avoid the overpriced places in NF, we decided to have lunch here. Was not expecting anything than the usual Mandarin experience, but we were pretty surprised. The food was good. As usual, sushi is not worth the time at Mandarin, but their prime rib is definitely one of the best. These 2 things seems to be consistent at each location. What really was a big surprise was seeing spaghetti and also chicken tenders, in small pieces. Perfect for the little ones! Fish, mussels were also very good here. Service was great and most if not all the food were all very good.

Found this using Google Maps, décor was beautiful and the food was delicious. Serves a variety of food besides Chinese, including roast beef, pizza and a huge desert bar. Anyone visiting Niagara Falls should make sure to stop by the Mandarin Restaurant at least once, you won’t regret it.

The reviews here were good, so we decided to stop by. It had been a long day and we were hungry! This place is a buffet. Not a fan of buffets in general, but as I said we were hungry! Mixed review. The curry was pretty good, the kung pao was not(and I really like kung pao, having had it in Taiwan). Prime rib was mediocre… dry and not seasoned as near as I could tell. The Peking pork tasted like sweet and sour. The little lemon cupcakes were very good. Overall, average. Nothing special. If you’re hungry and nearby it will do. If you have to drive any distance, don’t bother. There are bound to be better options available to you.

My family celebrated my mom’s birthday by the falls this weekend. We decided to have dinner at Mandarin because there would be more variety for the price we were paying per person($ 28.99). We arrived around 6 pm and were seated in less than five minutes. All of the food selections were always restocked and hot. The crab legs were delicious! So juicy and sweet. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Even the owner came by our table to ask how we were doing. Mandarin is only 10 minutes away from the falls so this is a good option for anyone looking for a good buffet.
