Bullseye Axe Throwing

Visited this location today with a group of friends and had a BLAST! The owner, John, was extremely friendly and accomidating. He got us set up quickly even gave us each some coaching on technique. The sport was fun and challenging.
Very clean and open area. It is very safe and had plenty of fencing and distance from target to ensure no one gets hurt.
There is currently no food or drink served at the facility. That being said, we learned that you are allowed to bring your own. The owner had plenty of party tables and even a refrigerator to accomidate. The space is perfect for any kind of party or social gathering.
We had a very good time trying this place out and definitely plan on returning. Way more fun than bowling!

Ever seen an Asian Lumberjack before? Can’t grow the beard but this guy knows how to handle the axe. I visited Bullseye Axe Throwing and was pumped. The Bullseye team told us that people who play baseball/​softball typically do well at axe throwing. I fitted the category and sure enough bullseye within my first few try’s. Consistency is key in axe throwing.
The Bullseye Axe Throwing team was very accommodating and spent the time and effort to ensure that everyone was having a great time. Jonathan (Owner) is a really cool guy and he made sure that everyone was able to sink the axe into the target a couple times by the end of the day. It’s one of the only Axe Throwing places in York Region and works out for those of us that live in Markham and Richmond Hill. Best of all they let you bring your own booze! Overall I recommend this place to everyone to have a great time. JimStar Out!

I’ve spent years trying to perfect my lumber-​sexuality, hours of primping in front of the mirror, selecting the best flannel, grooming my beard with the sharp side of a buzz saw, standing for hours on logs in deep bodies of water, amassing an impressive mane of chest hair, painting a small calf blue to act as my sidekick, and heck, even learning the lyrics to «I’m a lumberjack…» backwards and forwards, yet something was missing…
While I remained skilled with many lumberjack tools of the trade, I had yet to truly master the art of a deadly axe throw at a distance of 10 – 12 feet. Thank goodness I found out about Bullseys Axe Throwing in Newmarket (located about 50 – 100 axe throws north of Davis Drive right off of Leslie). The team at Bullseye, including owner Jonathan, were super helpful at helping me hone my axe throwing skills, teaching me a variety of different throwing techniques.
The great thing about Bullseye is that it’s the most convenient, correction — the ONLY, Axe throwing sport club in York Region. This means for my fellow lumber-​Jacks and Jills living east of the 427 this is super close and your GO-​TO local.
While they are by appointment only, the staff are totally willing to accommodate groups of between 20 – 40 with ease at your convenience as they’ve got 3 Axe throwing «courts» on premise, all done properly. Totally wrapped in floor to ceiling cages, equipped with a rubber toe stop AND using only the best REAL log targets (some other spots use a target painted on pieces of plywood) — this makes for much more satisfying ‘THOCK’ sound when you make contact with a perfectly placed toss.
After a few hours in the cages, I’m feeling confident and a much more well rounded in my lumberjackery. I’m confident at my next Lumberjack meetup that I’ll be able to go toe to toe with some of the best in the biz now.

Hoo hoo, I threw some axes. Drunk. And no one got injured. That pretty much sums up my first axe-​throwing experience.
A group of Unilocalers came to Bullseye for a UYE. The place is new and clean and industrial looking. There are 3 throwing courts that have metal wire walls all the way up, so the axes would not fly outside of the throwing court. Inside each court are 2 target boards that are just sections of tree trunk. Two types of axes are provided for free. Just like throwing darts, participants score by throwing the axes into the target board.
Just in case you are curious, I didn’t feel unsafe at any point of time. I mean, the axes didn’t bounce back all the way to the throwing line. It helped that none of us threw the axes sideways or aimed the throw at people. Beverage is allowed outside of the throwing courts but never inside.
There is a M/​F bathroom with soap and paper, etc. There is a fridge to cool your beer if you bring some.
We met the owners who were friendly and helpful and patient in training us one-​on-​one. I was awful and he never lost it on me for the whole 20 minutes of training.
Bullseye runs league during the week. Besides league play, Bullseye is by appointment only, so I suppose it is great for events and celebrations.
Bullseye is so close to Davis Drive and Hwy 404 that it is only a 20 minutes drive from Markham.

Had the most amazing experience here at Bullseye! I came here for a Unilocal Event, was greeted by the owner and his employee that was the most approachable and friendly people I have ever met. This location has three full courts with two targets in each court and accommodates about 10 – 12 people comfortably with the opportunity to learn and practice axe throwing. They start off with a waiver form which pretty much states that you are signing your life away and then got started right away. They started to explain how to throw the axes and the steps and procedures of how to throw like a pro. Once we started, we got to take turns throwing the axe to warm up and got specific tips and tricks to try and improve our stance. Some people got it down pact early in the evening, and some people (including myself) who took longer to get the throw perfected. As the night progressed and each of us got warmed up, we began a tournament where we entitled us to compete against each other and at the end of it, the champion won a Bullseye Axe Throwing T-​Shirt! The best part about this experience is that you get to bring your own booze while throwing axes! How awesome is that? This will help give liquid courage to those who are struggling with hitting the bullseye. I will definitely be visiting Bullseye Axe Throwing again more than once and I highly, highly recommend checking it out because this is the only location that is very accessible to those who live uptown and something you should write down on your bucket list of things to do. Highly enjoyable and fun for those that need to take out some anger, frustration, want a good arm work out or just want to throw axes!
