Ordered food from here for take out last week; never again. We got an order of pineapple fried chicken and schezwan chicken. To start, there wasn’t a single piece of pineapple in the fried rice. Not even one little piece. Although there was chicken, there wasn’t much of it. The rice was very plain and something I easily could have made myself at home. The schezwan chicken was spicy, but not in a good way. It was overwhelming and unenjoyable. There were also more vegetables than actual chicken in the dish. Also, they didn’t close the box properly so the sauce from the chicken spilled all over the bag. Our fortune cookies weren’t even wrapped. They were just thrown in the bag as is. To make it worse, my fortune told me to «Be cautious of things to come.» I think it was predicting a future washroom trip after the dinner(gross). There are definitely better options in the area.

Pretty good, but I would probably try another place for Chinese delivery next time before ordering again. The delivery was fairly fast, and there were no issues with my order. I had the salt and peppery squid, wor wonton soup, bbq pork and shrimp fried rice, and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce. The food wasn’t bad but it was nothing to write home about. Some of the dishes were a little over salted and a bit on the greasy side. Not bad, but not great either.

We just moved to New West, and ordered delivery from this place because it is closeby, and the Unilocal reviews were pretty decent. BIGMISTAKE! We ordered: 2 wonton soups Dry pork ribs Beef and peppers in black bean sauce Vegetable chow mein The Wonton soup was passable, but the vegetable chow mein was appalling, beef and black bean sauce watery, flavourless, over cooked garbage. When I called to place the order, I specifically asked if the noodles in the chow mein were the long, thick, round variety(I asked 2 or 3 times to be sure) and I was assured that they were. What we received for that $ 7.75 dish, was exactly 6 pieces of broccoli on a clumpy, stringy bed of very thin egg noodles. That said, the dry ribs were satisfactory… I will never, ever eat anything from this place again, and I’d advise you not to waste your money there either! Go anywhere else!

Solid 3.5 stars, though it’s a hole in the wall, it’s got chinese & western breakfast all in one. Ok, i also like it too that i can work here for a few hours & they won’t bother you lol. Free parking. And it’s upstairs in a weird building, a few biz’s with some residential in the back. It’s just a quick in and out place. their specialty is their Dry Ginger Beef, tasty if you don’t mind the grease ;)

We recently moved into the area and have been searching for a new chinese food place. I have never particularily enjoyed chinese food since moving to Vancouver as it is all either way too authentic(chicken feet… seriously…) or insanely greasy but I was pleasantly suprised when we tried New West Wonton House! It was recommended to us by a neighbour in the building and we figured we’d give it a shot. We ordered the Dinner for 3: Egg Rolls Wonton Soup Chicken Chow Mein Sweet & Sour Pork & Pineapple Beef Chop Suey Dry Ginger Beef(normally comes with Almond Chicken) I found the egg rolls quite greasy but acceptable, better than most places. Wonton Soup was pretty good, I craved it a few days after Chicken chow mein was deeeelicious! I loved the flavour and texture. Yum! S&S Pork was really good too! The fresh veggies and chunks of pineapple complimented the pork nicely. Beef Chop Suey had lots of beef in it which was a nice suprise. The sauce was exactly what I was looking for and it had an excellent selection of fresh veggies again. Dry ginger beef was MY favorite. Very yummy ginger sauce and each piece was nice and crispy. Definitely getting this again! Make sure you ask for chopsticks or they don’t send them(might be because they know I’m white? Not sure) The meal DOES come with fortune cookies though, which is surprisingly difficult to find these days.
