West Side Bistro

Fantastic new place discovered in New Glasgow. Myself and a work colleague were driving by and were looking for somewhere good to eat for lunch and the place looked promising. Inside was a nicely old fashioned decorated home cooked restaurant. The menu was an eclectic mix of sandwiches, salads, stir fry rice bowl and pasta bowls and daily specials.
I had selected the crab and spinach cakes $ 12.95 and added a $ 2 Waldorf salad on the side. The food came out as a very generous serving and delicious, wonderful food. Really you can tell these are someone’s solid home cooked recipies. I would eat this kind of home cooked food any day of the week and twice on Sunday!
The dessert menu looked so good but I didn’t have any or else I’d be fast asleep after lunch:
Apple and cranberry bread pudding w warm rum sauce — $ 4.95
Coconut cream cheesecake — $ 5.95
Strawberry rhubarb pie $ 5.95
Definitely a place I need to come back when in the area to sample some other items.
