Excellent coffee, great atmosphere and the most excellent savoury scones I’ve ever had. A serious must try!!!

I love the atmosphere. The staff is considerate and eager to make customers welcomed and satisfied. Whenever I order food, I request an adjustment which is always accepted. The food is just good, so I have no idea why request modifications. If you are a fan of live music, don’t miss the Wednesday open mic night. Every performance is excellent. The sound system is well adjusted. No matter what other things you have planned for Nanaimo, don’t blow off The Vault. At the very least, stop for a coffee. Don’t let the street side ambiance frighten you. This is the best small business in town.

I have to say that the food is phenomenal here. Our party had the soup and the open face chicken pesto sandwich and both were great! Chicken and artichoke not overcooked, the bread was just the right texture and the pesto sauce was delicious. The drinks were really good as well, had the London Fog which not too sweet and definitely worth the time that it took. Friend had a latte and that was good as well. Service was great but a bit slow as they were pretty full. Atmosphere is cozy and I would say is pretty unique.

Great space to have a coffee shop in an old heritage building with high ceilings, big windows with a tun of sunlight. A cool feature is the narrow second level balcony area that fits smaller tables for a more private or intimate area.

A great latte in a beautiful atmosphere. Art on the walls, massive vaulted ceilings… the building must be 100 years old. Every Monday is open mic night and it’s actually really fun to watch. The outstanding feature in my opinion is the hot chocolate… it’s made by hand, so if the shop is busy it’ll take about 5 or 10 minutes to get it, but it’s absolutely fantastic!
