Absolutely love this place. The Grand Forks breakfast is a must have. This is a staple for great all day breakfast in Nanaimo. I literally visit it every time I come back to the island.

Very good food. Ordered cheese lover and hot cake. Very tasty. But a lttle bit slow to get the food

Uhh, meh. The salad was small for 8 bucks. The onion soup tasted like shitaki”” the server was a loud tweeker. The hot wins were bomb.

I haven’t been to a Ricky’s in about 15yrs. Last one was in Burnaby BC (Metrotown mall). Walked in waited a couple of minutes to be seated. The server had to finish her conversation with a fellow. I would have been aggravated, if it wasn’t required. Seat promptly after she flipped a coin in her head right or left it was quite humorous. Ordered a beer while I was being seated, came fast and gave me a couple of minutes to order no pressure. I asked the server what she would recommend (prime rib sandwich) the picture looks so good. The sandwich in person is not the same like ¹⁄₃ of the stuff on the sandwich. Could not taste the horseradish at all. The yam fries are yam fries the dipping sauce way to salty. Oops with the salt I think. Ordered the sticky toffee pudding, it was rubbery microwaved way to long. I did eat it all though. 3 stars on the food just ok. The service was great made me smile good humour & she new what she was doing. Shannon could easily served in a 5 star restaurant. Greatest service I have had in a while. Still only a 3 stars for the standard food & Management for being cheep on portion distribution.
Like I wouldn’t notice.

Went for breakfast this morning with my fiancé and my parents. It was quite busy being a Sunday morning however we were seated quickly. Our server came over to say hi but never came back. She’d visit the other tables around us but skip ours. Finally got our orders in. Our breakfast took over 45 mins to come out. The server had still not come back. Our coffee was empty for about 20 mins. Finally someone other than our server came to refill it which was nice to have something to drink while we waited. All the tables around us which were sat after us had their food and ours was yet to arrive!
Honestly, if our server had let us know that she was busy or the kitchen was making our order soon it would have been fine but she did not. We waited while watching people who’d ordered 10 mins after us eat their lunch. A bit disappointing. Finally our food arrived– but not carried out by our server. We never did see much of her. Just a bit disappointing service. Good food, but our servers lack of care left us 4 in a bit of a disappointment after expecting a fun breakfast out together.

We were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a table, which is totally fine. Our table was actually ready in only 5 minutes, awesome!
But wait! After we ordered we waited 70 minutes for our food to arrive. Our waitress never checked on us or apologized for the huge wait. We got an order of free pancakes for my 8 month old which came after 45 minutes and were ice cold.
While we were anxiously waiting for our food to come and not miss our ferry, I went to the handicapped/​baby changing room to change my daughter. Someone was in there so I patiently waited outside the door. When the door opened, it was a Rickys staff member who was in there for 10 minutes!
Food was mediocre at best. Not bad not good, just average and over priced.
I’ve had good experiences at Rickys in Vancouver but this was one of the worst services I’ve ever received anywhere.

We love this place. Free wifi and orders are automatically wired into the kitchen. Nice atmosphere. Great menu. We had great service.

Unfortunately got soooo sick after eating food there… Throwing up for hours… But the rest of my family loved it
