History

Established in 1978.

For over 30 years we’ve been importing and proudly handcrafting premium quality coffee in Montréal using acclaimed small batch roasting techniques.

We’ve also been importing exclusive single-​origin teas and creating our own unique blends through our Ariel Tea Collection.

We’ve always been firm believers in sharing with our communities through numerous philanthropic actions with involvement in local and grower communities, sustainable practices and the protection of the environment.

Terra Coffee and Tea is a clear illustration of the career path taken by Carlo Granito, a humanist entrepreneur who is passionate about coffee and tea.

Conscious of the inequities that afflict coffee growers, Carlo follows the golden rule in making raw bean purchases. After extremely rigorous searches, which can at times take up to several years, he chooses the best beans and offers farmers a price much higher than market prices. He requires in exchange that this bonus serve to maintain sustainable development and improve living conditions for them, their families and their community.

This unique way of helping others has allowed Carlo to establish close relationships with these farmers who now know that selling their beans to major brokers that are far less generous, is to their own disadvantage.

Also, to guarantee the freshness of his products, Carlo choses to produce on-​demand as well as preserve the art of artisanal roasting.
