This is such a small stand at Marché Jean-Talon! My mission was to find myself some lunch for $ 7,25 and under. I thought it would be a breeze but Jean-Talon has gentrified pretty quickly and it’s just totally dubious to taste every fruit sample in the shopping alleys. I pretty much dismissed every food vendor as too expensive, offering something I found too common or just not really being lunch(olive and cheese shops etc.). And after running around in circles for 30 minutes, right at the market’s intersection, a sign popped up: «Duck confit sandwich: $ 5»! Mission accomplished! Just what I wanted: a sandwich is quick and easy, but duck is more of a gourmet kinda thing and under 7 bucks! Don’t expect something too fancy, the sandwich is served in a little styrofoam box if you want to take it home. This is just a stand so you have to find yourself somewhere to sit. The sandwich is about 6 to 7 inches, made with white baguette bread. I’m not a big fan of baguette but it was incredible for dealing with the duck fat dripping everywhere. Brilliant!
