We came with a large crew when it opened, so I can’t speak to the usual crowd or what a typical night might be like. But on a rainy afternoon, what an amazing spot this was. We were glad to find super cheap happy hour cocktails and beers. But what was even stranger to find was Koyaanisqatsi-​style dirge music playing and a small bowling that we quickly took to, making for one of the oddest diegetic bar soundtracks I’ve ever experienced.
I loved this weird, funky spot and would definitely return to it and make it a local spot if I were a native.

This is an OK pub. The beers are realitvly cheap (5.50 $ per pint) but the selection is not amazing (standard Montréal pub selection). Also they dont serve food which usually is fine if you have a cool burito or other fast food place next door but not here. So you cant buy food and there is nothing around :(
What is cool about this place is the wooden bowling lines that you can play for free. A nice attraction but not attractive enough that I will revisit this place

Tranquille tranquille, Notre Dame des Quilles. J’ai de la difficulté à comprendre le buzz. Moment correct, sans plus. C’est peut-​être parce que j’étais déjà saoule, mais habituellement, ça me rend plus relax ;)
Je voulais y aller depuis un moment, mais je n’avais jamais remarqué l’endroit, passant devant plusieurs fois sans m’en rendre compte. Il faut savoir où s’enligner! Merci à mes amis de m’avoir amenée jusque là!

Éclairage très puissant. Serveurs froids. L’endroit est un peu crade, et je sais pas si c’est par négligence ou pour être hipster. Pour vrai, je me suis demandé pourquoi faire des efforts pour qu’un bar soit classe alors que NDQ réussit à être tendance en étant si… étrange.
L’alcool est à un prix raisonnable. Argent comptant seulement, ATM à l’intérieur. En réalisant qu’ils n’acceptent que le cash, mon ami demande s’il y a un guichet pas loin et le serveur lui répond avec peu de douceur qu’il n’a qu’à utiliser le guichet de la place. C’est gentil comme rappel, mais on essaie d’éviter les frais de 3,25 $ quand on est jeune et pauvre.
Bref, pas sûre que j’y retournerai, mais bon, contente d’être allée y faire un tour pour savoir de quoi il est question!

L’ambiance qui y règne est magique, un style propre et unique à ce bar dans lequel tu peux t empiffrer de Nacho, boire un pinte et jouer au bowling.
Et oui, dans le fond du bar deux petites allées de bowling qui ont pimentés mes soirées ici, au rythme d un Remix de «Baby» de Justin Bieber totalement déjanté.
Le coup de cœur, les soirées bingo qui vous font replonger en enfance avec des lots plus originaux les uns des autres !

Tout simplement génial. Un bar avec beaucoup de personnalité. Petite partie de quilles entre deux verres. Une soirée bingo de temps en temps et pourquoi pas un bourrito vegan avec ça? Les prix sont raisonnable et le bowling est gratuit en tout temps.

Great happy hour deals, fun bar staff. It’s a totally unpretentious crowd so it’s a nice spot for a casual neighbourhood drink.
The kitchen closed recently so I’m curious to see what food option opens there next.

One of my favorite local bars in Montréal! It’s a fun, divey atmosphere that caters to all crowds. The space itself is a bit quirky with indoor bowling lanes and mix matched décor. The drinks are strong and cheap! I’ll come back here on every trip I take to Montréal. Highly recommend.

Cool ass bar with a great cocktail list. The atmosphere is divey with an elevated drink list. Go into the side room for some mini bowling. We waited our turn and then jumped on when the two lanes opened up. It’s fun, but a pain in the ass setting up the pins every time… I know, I’m a lazy American. Seriously though, I would pay someone to set those things up for me. Moved back into the bar afterward and hung out there for a bit. The staff were funny and the place had a very welcoming vibe.

I’ll have a Moscow Mule for six bucks. I’ll have a burrito sometimes. I’ll walk by when I’m bored, always something gwan awn, mon.

Long overdue for an update since the food situation has changed completely — the kitchen here is now run by Velo Burrito. They have a separate listing because they are their own thing, but suffice it to say they are hearty and tasty and vegetarian and vegan friendly and they deliver by bike. When you eat in at NDQ order drinks from the bar, and food directly from the kitchen counter at the back.
Aside from that NDQ still is what it is: super fun Lipster karaōke night on Sundays, a mix of DJs occasionally turning this friendly mellow dive bar into a raging dance party, free duck pin bowling, a couple basic beers on tap, cheap pints and shots and super nice cool staff.

Wherever I am in the world, this is the kind of joint that makes me feel at home. A little bit sticky, cheap drinks, solid snack options and a glorious gimmick for when drunks get bored. In this case, duck bowling! These are the magic ingredients to a rad local in my (not so) humble opinion, and NDQ just fucking nails it.
I’ve been here twice. Once I danced like a fool, downed shots and bowled like a champ. The second time, I was sick and drank ginger ale, but the company and atmosphere were so worth it, I happily dragged my butt out. Long live the lovable dive bar!

This bar is great. The vibe is perfect, the people are friendly, and the drinks won’t set you back anymore than $ 5 or so. It’s apparently a lesbian bar, but I hate labels. It’s just a great bar, period. Any and everyone is welcome.
Apparently they do a pretty mean karaōke night where the duckpin bowling lanes become a massive stage. I’ll have to time my next trip a little better so I can be sure to show Quebec what I’ve got.

Je n’y suis allé qu’une fois, les cocktails étaient bons mais le bar, à moitié vide, paraissait un peu froid… Puis une djette est arrivée et a lancé le son si fort que tout le bar à sursauté… on né s’entendait plus discuter et c’était à cause d’une sorte de son expérimental de musiques Disney … Une seule personne avait l’air d’apprécier … à retenter!

If it were possible to scoop up an entire establishment (including it’s physical space, the people who work there, the people who hang out there, the vibe/​atmosphere, the dancing, the karaōke… everything about the place, really) hide it my very large purse, and smuggle it through customs… I would totally do it. I’ve never wanted to steal a business out of a city and bring it to my own like I do with Notre Dame Des Quilles!
I know it’s touted as one of the best lesbian bars in town, but I found it to be both GLBTS and hipster-​friendly. It’s also considered a dive bar — historically, a place I try and avoid. One of the reasons why I don’t tend to go to anything categorized as a «dive bar» is because I understand there will be a serious level of exclusivity involved. Regulars will wonder who I am and why I’m there; NDQ is the exception to that rule. Everyone (both staff and customers) was SOOOOO friendly, and SOOOO accepting, and SOOOOO nonjudgmental, and SOOOOOO laid back… I couldn’t get over it. Folks were singing karaōke very, very badly yet people were genuinely cheering them on, or singing along in a show of solidarity, or being back up dancers during performances. I’ve honestly never seen anything so supportive in my life (it was also the ONLY time in my existence that I actually felt comfortable enough to attempt karaōke… [un]fortunately my name never got called!). For the few hours we were there, I didn’t feel like I was in a room with strangers insecurely sizing up everyone around them, but of awesome individuals who wanted to skip past my whole life story just so that we could get to the heart of our new relationship: being friends (you can’t laugh at me for that corny statement because NDQ is a No Judgment Zone; so there!).
The beers were big and cold, the lighting was dark and moody, and I couldn’t have been happier to find myself there. Definitely one of my new favorite bars in the world!

I’ve been three times, I think that makes me a regular.
Once for drinks.
Once for dancing.
Once for karaōke.
Each time was more magical than the one before!
It can get crowded, it can get loud, but both add to the charm of the joint! And seriously, where else in Montréal, maybe the WORLD can you belt out Billy Joel on a duckpin bowling lane?

J’y suis allée seulement 2 fois, une fois tres courte pour un verre seulement. La 2e fois, j’ai trop bu car le 5 a 8 avec des blackvelvet a 4 $ ca donne le gout de boire plus! Pus je me suis regalé d’un bon hot-​dog tout garnie, c’est franchement delicieux. Je me suis leché les doigts, litteralement. Le menu m’inspirait beaucoup, surtout le grilled cheese au bacon que notre voisin de table avait pris mouhaaa! Ca perd une etoile car on s’est gelé les fesses, c’est plate quand t’as froid, et le service, bien que ultra sympathique, né m’a pas impressionné. L’avantage c’est que personne t’achale pour que tu commandes autre chose.
J’y retourne c’est sure car ca vaut vraiment le deplacement. Je mettrai a jour mon avis!

Je n’ai d’autres mots pour décrire cet endroit que… louche. Les prix né sont pas assez bas pour être considérés comme étant une bonne affaire (du moins en soirée), et donc ça né devient pas nécessairement la place cheap pour se mettre chaud à bon prix en faisant abstraction de l’étrangeté de la place. Pour commencer, la couleur. On repassera pour la peinture qui n’a clairement pas été refaite depuis 1976, un joli mélange entre le vert hôpital et une autre teinte qui m’est inconnue. La structure du bar comme tel n’est pas géniale non plus, puisqu’il est séparé en deux sections distinctes. Une avec le bar, une avec une petite cuisine qui fait des plats maisons sans prétention du genre grilled cheese, qui eux né sont pas mauvais du tout! Oubliez le service aux tables, vous devez vous lever et aller chercher votre drink vous-​même… et oubliez surtout le service sympathique au comptoir, vous né décocherez jamais un sourire de la part de personne dans cet établissement, même en laissant un pourboire généreux. La musique est correcte, on y passé souvent du vieux hip hop et ce n’est pas excessivement fort. L’allée de quilles ajoute un aspect amusant, mais honnêtement, je n’ai jamais vu personne y jouer.

Un endroit génial pour avoir du fun avec des amis. Bière pas chère, ambiance hyper conviviale, bonne bouffe, et surtout, surtout… 2 allées de quilles où il est possible d’aller étaler au grand jour ses (non) capacités athlétiques.
Seul bémol, mais que je n’ai vécu qu’une seule fois: je crois qu’ils ont des problèmes de ventilation, car ça m’est arrivé de sortir de là en sentant le barbecue mal lavé. Le bar était rempli de fumée, ça m’a ramené au temps des danses du secondaire avec les machines à boucane!

A fun place for either a date or drinks with friends.
Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the food is surprisingly good given what you’d otherwise expect given the price of the drinks.
It’s also fun to roll a couple games of bowling — although having to set up the pins yourself wears thin after a few sets ;)

From the ambiance to music and prices, almost everything here was great. Except: The drinks were mixed terribly. Don’t know if it was just these two particular bartenders the Sat night I was there, but they didn’t know how to mix drinks at all; they’d erratically mix up signature cocktails within 20 – 30 seconds, sometimes by stirring them, and the proportions and taste were all off. One would expect better at such a popular bar. Everything was great, but– please, learn how to mix drinks.

Correct… pas de quoi capoté

Spacious and somewhat institutional-​feeling (as in, linoleum floors and battered diner furniture) dive bar with plenty of character and very reasonably priced drinks. Although located in Petit Patrie /​Little Italy, it’s definitely a Mile-​Endois kind of place. Mellow 20s to 30s crowd with tats and bad posture. And two bowling lanes (don’t get too excited: you have to set your own pins), which seem like a great idea until someone else starts bowling. No TV, which is a huge plus. And the food is excellent for what it is and very reasonably priced. Seriously, whichever variation of their roast beef sandwich is on the menu when you go is probably worth the price of admission. Although this place serves liquor, you should probably avoid any cocktail more complicated than a gin and tonic or Jack and Coke. They’re not mixologists here – they pull beers and pour shots.
I like this bar a lot, though the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. If inexpensive drinks and a good crowd are your things (again, you’ll only think the bowling thing is cool the first time you go), you should not overlook this place.

What would you say if one of your friends was all, «Let’s go in here! It’s the best lesbian bar in Montréal, and they’ve got duckpin bowling and $ 5 shots of Jamo»?
If you know what’s good for you, you’d say, «Sold.»

well first off… disclaimer…I’m kind of a fan of dive bars… now with that out of the way I checked out NDQ last night with a friend and got to say I thoroughly dug the vibe. Definitely a bit low-​budget on the décor and pretty high on atmosphere… youngish mid twenties to early thirties crowd… most men of the bearded or november mo type and girls with toques and tats… even saw a few peeps in the back break out the pad and pencils and have some really nice drawing sessions… drinks are cheap but the bathrooms leave much to be desired (either a pipe was broken or people really can’t aim!)…
Overall, would go back…

Nous sommes allés rejoindre des amis qui s’y étaient rendus en fin de soirée. Nous né savions pas du tout à quoi nous attendre. L’endroit, quoi qu’ouvert depuis peu, selon nos sources, donne l’impression d’un petit bar de quartier, dans une salle un peu datée. Mais ça donne un vrai charme à l’endroit, surtout avec les 2 allées de petites quilles maison. De quoi s’amuser.
L’autre incontournable de la place, c’est le menu très intéressant et franchement très savoureux. Je vous recommande le macaroni-​fromage ou les biscuits à la patate douce et cheddar… Excellents snacks de fin de soirée!

Honnêtement être dans le coin je serais vraiment un habitué. Un, oui j’étais saoul en arrivant et j’ai pigé après trop longtemps que c’était un bar lesbienne. J’vais être honnête, j’m’en fou que ça soit un bar de quelque chose. Je veux dire, c’est cool que les lesbiennes puissent se retrouver dans un endroit social commun, mais j’aime juste 3 – 4 affaires. On m’a dit que la bouffe est vraiment pas mal du tout! Cheap à souhait. Moi j’ai prit une pinte de cidre, a 6 $. Sérieusement, 6 $ j’connais aucune place en bas de 7.50 $. Pis les locals sont vraiment fines. J’étais dans un mood particulièrement friendly et sociable et j’ai jasé avec une Tammy qui avait 3 pitous, sa copien Christina qui faisait sa dernière nuit au bar et qui plantait tammy aux Quilles. Yup, aux Quilles! IL y a deux allé miniature de quille, vraiment très cool comme concept. La place n’Est pas petite, ni énormes, juste parfaite.
Mon ami demeure a 10 minutes de marche, c’est sur que si on ressort, je veux y retourné une partie de ma soirée.

Honnestly, if I were to live in the neighborhood, I’d be a usual. Number one, I arrived there pretty smashed and it took me time to connect the dots about being a lesbian bar. I must say I don’t really care, I mean, don’t get me wrong, It’s cool for lesbian to have a spot to meet other lesbians, but regardless that tiny aspect, it’s just a genuine nice place with, from what I was told by a friend that ate there, had amazing food and pretty damn cheap! Speaking of Cheap, a pint of Cider at 6 $, yes! I’m all for it! usually 7.50−8.50 $, that was great. The usuals are also quite nice, I got aquainted to Tammy and her 3 beautiful dogs, her friend Christina, a waitress that was celebrating her last day in NDQ. and Christina was beating her friend a Bowling! Oh yeah baby! There’s 2 tiny bowling alley! Amazing fun for free. Booze and Bowling! Not a good combination for success at bowling but amazing for fun. Unique piece of Montréal, most definetly! I’m going back for sure!

Est-​ce que je me garde un spot secret juste pour moi, ou bien est-​ce que je passé le mot par Unilocal?J’ai l’impression que Notre Dame Des Quilles un endroit qui vaut la peine de visiter le plus vite possible avant qu’il deviennent tellement populaire qu’il sera bondé à n’importe quelle journée de la semaine! Avec du bowling à l’ancienne (vous devez remettre vos quilles droites vous-​même), des pintes pas chères (4 $ de 15h à 20h) et plusieurs délicieux plats réconfortants avec une petite twist originale pour moins de 10 $. comment pouvez-​vous y résister? Allez-​y tout de suite bon. Allez-​y pour changer d’humeur après une dure journée de travail, ou bien pour célébrer la fin de semaine, votre fête, une nouvelle job, etc… Vous y serez accueillis avec un beau bonjour de la barmaid dès votre entrée et seulement quelques instants plus tard vous penserez déjà à votre prochaine visite. Qu’est-ce que vous attendez?
Pour l’instant, c’est argent comptant seulement, donc passez à la banque ou bien cassez votre cochon avant d’y aller.

Monday night after work and I met up with the always fun and lovely Ms. Risa D. for some mac & cheese, 4 $ pints and bowling: best… Monday…ever…We were lucky enough to have Frannie as our server and she had me cracking up the entire time in this turquoise-​walled, amazing dive bar. The music was all chosen by our server and covered everything from Beastie Boys to Gramatik to Jean Leloup. I love the cute little 2 lanes for bowling, the big picture windows looking onto the street and hellooooo, jalapeño chutney on the mac & cheese? Yes please! The location is close to the Metro and like Risa said, it’s cash only.
