Molivos is fabulous. Maki, the owner, and his staff ensure that you have a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is charming, and the food always fresh and exquisitely prepared. We have been there often, and have been thoroughly satisfied on each occasion. The fried eggplant and zucchini, and the fried calamari are perfectly prepared, and the best part is that if you don’t finish it, a 10 second microwave, and a quick pan grill with a touch of coconut oil spray provides a very satisfying nostalgic experience. You will never be disappointed at Molivos! J and M

I used to go fishing with my father when I was little. That said, I’m not sure why they charge $ 28 a pound here for their rathe small fish. See the picture, they charged me 2 pounds for this fish. You do the math and it comes out to $ 56.00 for a fish that barely was enough as an appetizer, let alone a meal for two. The starters were pretty bad, the fish dip was awful, the octopus was chewy, though the dolmas were great. The fish itself was a sea bass, and they only marinated it with lemon, which seemed very plain and so I was scooping tons of yogurt cucumber sauce from the starter onto my plain fish. Seriously, the meal for two NOT including tax came out to be around $ 100. Yikes! Not worth it. Though the fish was fresh.

The place is clean and the décor makes you feel as though if you squint your eyes you might think that you’re in Greece. Molivos gets an A for effort but to tell you the truth in my opinion I believe the price is fairly high for what it is. It’s cute that when you sit down they bring you a platter of a selection of raw whole fish for you to choose. As well, I’ll have to admit they seemed to have a nice selection of fresh fish. We did not order wine and tried to choose the less expensive fish and it ended up being more than $ 80 for 2. By no means is that an overly high amount but the fish i ordered ended up being very simple. I hate to say this but I easily could have cooked the white fish with olive oil and capers on top myself and it would have tasted just the same. On the other side the fish came with a tasty bean dish and some rice that was yummy. Lastly, perhaps this is a place more popular with the grandparents crowd. I was the youngest diner by about 40 years on average.
