Being an Indian, it’s really difficult to find the spices and lentils that’re regularly consumed in India. Anatol spices is THE place to find almost every spice, dried herb, lentil, beans and more! They have sauces, condiments, flavoured nuts, candies, coffee and the list goes on and on! It’s really astonishing how much of variety can be available in such a little space! Every visit to this little store is fun because everything is so reasonably priced! You never have to compromise and hold back on buying a little of this and that. I would really recommend anyone, who’s looking forward to enjoy cooking, to pay this place a visit and just indulge!

spice heaven! this is what i imagine heaven would smell like. most of what you’d buy here would be in bulk which can be a bit problematic if you don’t use whatever you’re buying often. it’s best when multiple person need the same spice as there would be no waste. place is best visit when not hungry otherwise, temptation is very hard to resist. depending on what you’re buying, its not necessarily the cheapest but they do have a shitload of everything making your search easy

Very affordable and friendly spice shop on St Laurent in Little Italy, right near Milano and Jean Talon Market which makes for a sweet little foodie shopping afternoon. You want to accept the help offered here since the place is crammed and works according to it’s own logic, let the kind folks help you, they won’t steer you astray. If you can’t find it here, try Spice Station down on Bernard, but most needs will be comfortably met at Anatol.

Amazing selection of spices and dry goods, at very, very reasonable prices by any standards.

Great place. Cheapest fleur du sel in the city and wonderful array of spices and mixes. Tandoori spice and za’atar mixes are great! They also have hard-to-find and inexpensive citric acid and pectin for canning/jarring. Rating Scale: 1 Star: Avoid the town in which this place is located just to be safe. 2 Star: With so many great places to choose from, why risk this one? 3 Star: I’ll try it again or consume here in a pinch. 4 Star: I go here regularly if financially and/or calorically feasible. 5 Star: I look forward to taking my wife or friends here.

This place is pretty good. Like the other reviewer said, a pretty good variety of bulk things. Spices, teas, a good selection of medicinal herbs, nuts and dried fruits. Nothing organic, but other than that, no complaints. If you’re looking for something, you’ll probably find it here.

I walked by this place and bought their spices from other businesses(they are also wholesalers) often but never visited before this week. The first thing that hits you as you walk into the store is the intense smell of the herbs and spices. Definitely not unpleasant but not the place to walk in if you happen to have a weak stomach. Despite being in a rather smallish locale they offer a huge variety of herbs, spices, candies, soup bases, nuts, chocolate, teas, coffees and other food products in bulk or in bags. The prices were fair but not cheap. Some of the products were not as fresh as they should be and some clearly seemed past their prime(spices mostly). The staff was nice and helpful. Although there are other places to get top quality spices and herbs in Montréal, Anatole is definitely a one-stop shop worth visiting.
