Davids Tea

I went to David’s Tea for a workshop and the staff (2 young ladies), were so accommodating! It was perfect to do my mandala coloring with a nice warm Irish Breakfast tea. The lighting there is great. Thank you David’s Tea for hosting the group!

I always figured that it was best if I stayed away from Davids Tea, fearing that interaction with the type of people I see walking in/​out of this place would drive me to madness.
My boyfriend and I walked in and were immediately greeted with offerings of their festive/​seasonal teas, including a hot chocolate flavored tea. Although neither of them were to my taste it was a great first impression.
We only managed to meander for 2 – 3 minute when one of the (many) staff offered her assistance. As I know nothing of teas it was hard to express what I was looking for. She caught on and started pulling some teas for me to sniff (some of her favorites and some suggestions based on our discussion). They pretty much all smelled amazing. I ended up picking a top 4 to take home with me, and she measured out enough for 2 – 3 cups of each.
Highs: I love that they have tastings and that they have a little tea map that you can use to track trying different mixes that will then lead you to find your best match. I found their box sets really great (24 days of christmas giftset at $ 40, mixed starter at $ 20).
Lows: For my 8 – 12 tea portions I paid a bit over $ 20, so I can see this place being a total money pit for some people. The whole selection is overwhelming and would have been impossible for me to navigate without that map and super friendly staff. Was expecting to see a little bit more of a selection of accessories (different reuseable bags, reuseable k-​cups for example).

People do an amazing job finding all these reasons recipes that are so addictive to smell and to drink. I am there are teas and there is David’s Tea

I love DavidsTea and this location is great! The friendly staff is very helpful when choosing a flavour and very knowledgable. I would definitely recommend for a quick tea or to go and stock up for the house and office! :)

Location: On Monkland, in the heart of NDG. Street parking is available, and the closest subway is Villa Maria.
The place: Of a decent size, built on the narrow like all Davids Tea locations (why do they do that?) so if the place fills up, prepare to have your personal space invaded. Otherwise, the space is very bright, which I like.
The goods: Tea, obviously. You’ll find a ton of different varieties. so it will really come down to your personal preferences. I’m a big fan of the Chocolate Chili Chai, which is a season tea. Don’t look for it in the summer because it’s nowhere to be found! They also sell lovely mugs, tea pots and to-​go tumblers (the thermal kind). I purchased a Timolino a while back, and that thing keeps my tea hot for hours. Definitely worth the money!
Service: Great — the clerk was super friendly and filled me in on the promo associated to the various tin sizes, and she signed me up for the Frequent Steeper thing they’ve got going on.
Price point: Well, it’s tea and tea isn’t cheap. Since you can buy by weight, how much you spend will be dependent upon how much you buy.
