Complexe Desjardins

Un centre d’achat pratique avec l’épicerie IGA et la SAQ pour dépanner. C’est un bel établissement super grand et joli avec la fontaine d’eau au centre. Par contre, si l’on veut magasiner longtemps, le nombre de magasins est limité dans les choix. Une découverte pratique durant mon séjour à Montréal.

Nice underground mall in Montréal. Did not spend enough time here for my wife to shop. Haha! We were too busy touring this beautiful city. When we walked through here, the stores were already closed. Good thing cause we saved money!
If we lived in Montréal, I am pretty certain that we would be dropping by here anytime that we were in the area.

I ordered two beef teriyaki with rice by accident, at first the lady serving me was completely oblivious to this mistake, after repeating myself four times she snarled at me and finally decided to reimburse the second one after the cook started yelling at her.
The beef is coated in a thick layer of fat. more fat than meat.
Found hairs in my rice -/​+ 5 times in the past month.
Found pieces of plastic in my soup over 8 times in the past month…
Found a piece of meat/​fat/​nerves/​brains/​?? in my soup…
Main experience. if you want a $ 1 plate priced up to $ 8 definitely go there.
Experience will include; Mystery meat, a healthy portion of fat covering your beef, etc.

hard to qualify complexe desjardins as a mall really. it’s more of a business complex with stores in it. as a matter of fact, the food court holds more businesses than the shopping area.
anyway, there’s some interesting events throughout the year and the water fountain is nice to look at. and if you don’t feel like walking outside, complexe desjardins connects to complexe guy favreau by going south, where you can find more businesses especially those related to the canadian public services, which leads directly to chinatown. if you head north from the complexe, it leads directly to place des arts and the metro.

This is the underground mall everyone talks about. It was right underneath our hyatt hotel.
The mall is huge with a bit fointain in the center. The stores are ok and mostly all local mom and pop as far i can see. No big departmental stires or atleast none that i could see.
The mall hosts a big food court. The biggest i have seen. Nothing that big in US. The food court is very very.good. it caters to all food types … italian, middle eastern, chinese, sandwich, coffee, thai etc etc. It is one of the best mall food court i have seen.
Also the fact it is under tue hyatt hotel it is easilt accessible and we loved the easy access for the couple days we were there.
Overall visit there for the food if you are tourist rest is alright.

Was shopping here on Monday evening when a few exits were blocked before 6 pm with no directions/​help offered on how to leave the building — ‘Sorry, you can’t leave here’ — Where can we leave?’ — ‘there are other exits open’.
We ended up circling inside of the building trying to get out. Finally, got out and had to walk all around the building in the rain to get back to the hotel.

I always make it a point to stop here when I am in Montréal just to watch the Water Fountain Show for a brief time of reflection and pure enjoyment. There are some interesting stores on both levels of the complex and a wonderful IGA market as well. IGA’s in Quebec are quite different from the ones stateside mostly due to the varied French Canadian products they carry as well as products from France and other foreign countries. This mall is interconnected to Chinatown and and Quartier des Spectacles by an underground passage way which ultimately leads you to the Metro. You just have to appreciate how Montréal is so easily navigated by underground walk ways and a world class Metro system. The food court located here is great for a quick bite or snack and there are several sit down restaurants, if you wish to have table service.

Complex Desardins is quite interesting that it’s a mall. Although I don’t see many stores that wow me! 14 women’s stores and barely any men’s stores (4 eek). It does however have a food court and IGA plus a health club. If you are staying at the Hyatt or live or work nearby then this is super convenient! However head to another mall as selection is limited!
What is super cool is the huge open expansive atrium space in the middle!

Was there for Fromage D’ici, how do you rate a shopping mall if you ain’t a mallrat?

I would never come here to shop because the stores are not impressive, but it is an extremely convenient and well located complex if you happen to be near the festival sites or Chinatown.
Whenever I am at a festival at the Quartier Des Spectacles, coming in this mall is always a nice relief to cool down with some air conditioner, take a seat or use the clean restrooms.
This mall has a bit of everything, if you need a bite to eat, there is a food court but also an IGA supermarket, SAQ, ice cream shop, a pharmacy among other clothing boutiques.
The lower floor is very spacious, home to a huge water fountain that shoots up all the way to the ceiling, which always seems to thrill kids. The ample space is also used to host a series of events throughout the year, such cheese and wine samplings, mini job fairs or information sessions.

Pratique ce grand centre commercial Un peu de tout

I didn’t expect much when I look at the façade of Complexe Desjardins… I don’t even know it is a shopping centre… All I remember that it is cold and windy and anywhere indoor is a relief…
Such a huge open space with huge windows and skylights…
You can find your usual retail stores here and even a hotel on site.
It is also connected with the Underground City and Metro Stations.

Je connais ce lieu pour l’avoir visité lors d’un séjour de presque un mois au Québec.
Ici c’est la demeure qui règne. Certaines boutique sont a elle seul de vrai petit centre commercial. En hiver quand la T extérieur avoisine les –20 ces lieux se transforme en ville secondaire.
Vraiment génial.
Quebec je me souviens (comme on dit la bas).

Pour les vacances de Février 2001, je rendais visite à mon père à Montréal.
FROID…
Je découvrais le gigantisme des villes nord américaines (mais sans les américains !)
TOURNIS…
Je découvrais également HEC Montréal et comment un établissement pareil peut donner envie d’y rester et de se gaver de savoir (peut être pour ça que j’ai fais une école de commerce après…)
Et je découvrais aussi le Centre Desjardins: SHOPPING !!!
Un immense complexe commercial regroupant 110 boutiques et restaurant et un espace commun appelé «la grande place» pouvant accueillir près de 6000 personnes pour tous les évènements qui y sont régulièrement organisés (concerts, foires, congrès internationaux, festival de Jazz…)
Le petit plus qui restera dans mes souvenirs: La boutique de viennoiserie située juste à l’entrée du Complexe quand on arrive depuis le métro et qui vend des muffins absolument délicieux !!!

Eh oui, encore une des grandes institutions montréalaise: le complexe Desjardins. Quel Montréalais né connait pas la fameuse tour en forme de ruche?
Bien que plus grand que le centre Eaton, le complexe réunit pourtant moins de boutiques et ce pour la simple raison qu’il fait la part belle aux bureaux administratifs. On y retrouvera néanmoins de nombreux restaurants, et plusieurs boutiques de vêtements ou de chaussures, ou encore des librairies, une SAQ, un IGA, etc. De manière générale, il s’agit de commerces se situant entre le milieu et le haut de gamme (exception faite du Dollarama) aussi n’y viendrez vous pas à des fins économiques. Le complexe offre de nombreux évènements dont le plus fameux est certainement la venue de celui qui est unanimement reconnu pour être le VRAI père Noël, tous les ans à partir du mois de novembre. A cette occasion, la fameuse fontaine est entièrement redécorée et tout un village de Noël grandeur nature est installé.
Le complexe offre aussi l’avantage d’être directement relié Palais des congrès, à la Place des Arts, au Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal par une galerie de boutiques d’art de très grande qualité. Enfin, vous pourrez facilement vous garer dans son parking intérieur, à condition d’être d’accord pour en payer le tarif exorbitant!
En bref, le complexe est en endroit sympathique pour ses évènements mais peu pratique pour y magasiner, à moins de n’être pas regardant sur la dépense et de savoir d’avance ce que l’on vient y chercher.

Situé au coeur du centre-​ville, du réseau souterrain et du carrefour culturel de Montréal, ce gigantesque centre commercial est le plus visités.
Que des magasins et des restaurants autour d’une grande place.
Avec un peu de chance vous assisterez à quelques spectacles et festivals internationaux.
Accessible aussi directement par l’hôtel Hyatt Regency Montréal.
