If you have a real emergency, don’t choose this hospital. It is a meat wagon of people being shuffled around, lying in the halls, children running all over the place and trust me, no one is in a big hurry to help you.

I have to give this hospital props for their cardiac unit. Like any hospital, if you come in with heart attack symptoms (chest pain, shortness of breath, numbness in arm), you will NOT hafta wait in Emerg!
Patients in the cardiac ward will usually be in a private room, newer ward, with like 1 nurse for every other patient.
And just like any hospital, you will encounter incompetent/​rude nurses, doctors, orderlies, volunteers, etc. but that will be the case anywhere else you go. There are good and also not-​so-​good workers; smart and not-​so-​smart people. A hospital cannot be 100% perfect, but so far I’ve been pretty satisfied with the treatment there.
P. S. Hospital parking is expensive!!! $ 3 for each 20 minutes, max $ 16/​day. And of course, all the public areas right around the hospital are patrolled — or at least marked as private property.

The hospital is really clean but it can get really busy. I once had a deep cut under my chin that I needed stitches for so I went to this hospital and the front desk employee was really rude about it. She just looked at it saying that I didn’t need stitches and it wasn’t that bad. (by this point I was just extremely angry). But eventually I did have stitches (after what seemed forever) and I was happy about that. Also another time I wanted to see a family friend that had cancer that was staying at this hospital. We asked the employee there if we could see her and the employee was being really difficult. She didn’t understand what we wanted to do or even who we wanted to see, all I got to say was that it was really frustrating. But some of the staff there was really nice. It all just matter about the employee, if they are nice then your experience there will be much better. I haven’t went there in a while so I don’t exactly know how the employees are but hopefully if you go there your experience will be better than mine.

It’s really tough reviewing a Hospital because it’s really the people (nurses, doctors etc) that shape your experience. I mean with my wife’s first pregnancy we were registered to give birth at Trilium but after we arrived at the Hospital and were just left sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour we fled. My wife was having contractions and nobody even bothered checking at what stage she was, meanwhile it looked like the nurses were having a great time at the nurses station. We just picked up and left and drove all the way to the Oakville Hospital.
But on the other hand a family member just had a major heart operation and beside one horrible nurse our experience was great.
So it’s really a hit and miss, the ER is crazy and be prepared to wait up to 7 hours or even longer unless you are dying as you are brought in through the door. Your better bet is to go to the Etobicoke branch or all together another more rural Hospital.
They also just erected in the recent years the new building which is really nice and modern, big bright rooms with big windows.

It seems that not many west-​enders know that Trillium has a new first-​class contemporary urgent care center at its West Toronto site, across the street (west side) from Sherway Gardens just off the QEW & 427. Open 0800 to 2000 hrs.
Far too many people still go to over loaded hospital emergency rooms when this generally under-​used facility would be more appropriate and far quicker for most medical needs. Of course, for near-​death situations and substantial trauma get to the nearest ER. Otherwise, do yourself and the overworked healthcare workers a favor and choose the better level of service.

Gave birth to my first baby there — the doctors and nursing staff were all amazing and helped me get through the week long birth with 4 inductions!!! both physically and mentally — the best in Mississauga !!! just incredible !!!
