A really nice place to eat. The desserts and buns were delicious. But this is a place for old style, Hong Kong food. It’s meant to taste a certain way. Some people may not like this, and some will. If you’ve been to Hong Kong, and eaten there, this will take you back. The food is authentic. Definitely worth a try.

This is my go to spot for buns… Period. There is no other place in Mississauga that makes buns as good. I love their pineapple bun and all the varieties of it, I find myself craving them on a regular basis. They have BBQ pork, and even custard, in a pineapple bun and they even have a special where they take a warm crispy pineapple bun and put a slab of butter in it making it so much more decadent. Seriously If you have not had a hot Papa John’s pineapple bun(or any variety of them) you are missing something in life. When the are warm, the bread is so fluffy with the perfect amount of chew and sweetness, but the Pineapple topping on top becomes Deliciously crispy, and all together it is magic in your mouth. Its a baked good that is rich, moist, soft chewy, sweet, and Crispy all in one bite. Even if I have bought too many and have toast them in the oven the next day the are still amazingly delicious. Their curry puffs are also outstanding, the pastry is definitely hand made. It is crispy, buttery and flaky, with a delicious curry meat core. At the price of a few dollars it is a Steal.

Papa John’s has been my after work destination for weeks to satisfy the carb-craving guilty feeling that hits a girl every so often. I really like their selection of buns, fresh even in the afternoon, and rate them higher than competitors in Mississauga. Fillings are more generous for sure. The curry beef bun is a standout, as well as the walnut bun. I like the pineapple bun unadulterated, save for the thick(and I do mean thick) slice of butter that you can request. The combo comes with HK coffee or tea, and is just shy of $ 3. Not bad for an indulgent after work snack! I don’t care for the milk tea, to my surprise. Maybe the preparation is not to my liking, but it tastes somewhat chalky(even with ample sugar added). I tried the tea on two separate occasions, so it wasn’t just that day’s batch. Other than that, Papa John’s is friendly, and takes you into carb land with open arms. In fact… I might just stop by again today! Cash only.

I read about the good reviews in Unilocal for this place so I went today to get 4 pieces of cakes. I guess the good reviews were only for their buns. I was very disappointed when I put my fork into my piece of cake at home. It was hard as if the cake was sitting in their fridge for 5 days. I got 4 varieties of cakes from Papa John’s but all four of our cakes were hard. I used to think T&T’s cakes were disgusting, but now this place took their place of the most disgusting cake in my list. I don’t think I will recommend to my friends because I think it is not fresh.

I came before when it was first opened but did not end up trying anything. This time I came and I got their Pineapple bun with Butter– a popular and major item on a HK food menu lol. All I can say is, Papa John’s makes this yummy treat well. The bun was fresh and the slice of butter was spot on and at reasonable size. The combo is $ 2.50 but I got a cold Hong Kong style milk tea which was an extra 50 cents– definitely worth it. In terms of the bakery itself, they have a wide variety of buns, cakes, typical Hong Kong style drinks and pastries. The sitting area is great, but I am mainly the grab and go kind of girl. A wish item for them would be more extensive breakfast choice. pretty much just the noodle/macaroni soups. Now, that would be perfect! Like any other Chinese bakery, it is cash only. I will be back especially since it is so close and convenient to work!

For those of you who are not about the carb/fat life and focused on getting fit for Summer, this place may not be for you! After all, it’s a Chinese bakery, so it’s bread, buns, cakes, pastries, &HK milk tea with evaporated milk. So not for the health-minded folk, but pretty obvious based on the fact that it’s a bakery. Once I stepped inside, I felt nostalgic and at home. Interior does remind me of Akko — haven’t been inside for a few years — but larger, more roomy, higher ceilings, AND a seating area which Akko does not have the room for. There were a coupla middle aged Chinese men picking up their breakfast and I’m can imagine them grabbing a newspaper and a seat and enjoying it inside. Service is very casual. Workers are wearing street clothes and they were friendly. Papa John’s also serves traditional HK style«all day breakfast». A photo is posted on here to show you prices and variety. Other buns were around $ 0.90/ea. I got the Papa John Special which was a Pineapple Bun(just looks like a pineapple, but doesn’t taste like one!) with a thick slab of butter in the middle + an HK milk tea. Pineapple Bun was toasted, buttery, and DELICIOUS! Thick slab of butter was no joke. Looked like a slice of cheese and when I got home, I took a butter knife and removed a good portion of it. It was really good. Milk tea was decent too. Not as fragrant as Marathon, but does the job. Would definitely check it out again… hope it’ll be open the next time!

This place has the best pineapple butter buns within the entire GTA! Their buns are fresh, their service is very personable and it’s a comfortable environment to have a casual tea. Their red bean mochi are also one of my favourite! They’re huge and they don’t skimp out on filling. I’m on mat leave right now and I take my son and my mom to this bakery all the time. The lady who works there is great with babies! They greet us all the time and make us feel really comfortable being there.

Newly opened bakery with good variety and inexpensive prices. Tried their All Day breakfast menu — specialty is their Pineapple Bun with a thick slice of butter combo with HK style milk tea($ 2.50) which is a good value. I also got their egg/toast/sausage/ham combo for $ 3.90 which really hit the spot for brunch. Great selection of buns for reasonable prices ranging from $ 0.80-$ 1.00. I thought their whole cakes were quite cheap, mostly $ 10 – 20. Because its new, only downfall is that there is very limited seating, limited food selection, and don’t expect any fancy service at this point. But I’d give it some slack as the staff are very nice and it takes time to get organized. Will be back! Tips: ask for your milk tea to be mixed with condensed milk instead if you want it less sweet. 6 buns or more for a discount + no tax!

Loved the mochi, the butter bun, walnut bun and cream buns bought, as well as the«chef’s special» coconut bun we were given as we sat and ate. Can’t wait to try some more. The place is clean, staff friendly, and plenty of tasty choices. An excellent addition to the area.

I really enjoyed the food, the coconut buns are my favourite! I have never tasted anything quite like it. I love the look of the bakery, very cute. Staff seems friendly and there are a lot of delicious looking cakes. Definitely will be returning and trying some of the other pastries.

Plz aware table fill up with their own ppl(friends) not for customers so find your luck to get a table. 4 tables with 10 chairs. When I pay, one of the customer come up and help me pack.(Funny) Pastry doesn’t look appealing, look snappy job with much lack of taste. Services really seems like no experience on retail only some establishment for retirement folks. I realize is new, will go back in 6 months and see any improvement. Good luck.
