I call this location the«Party LCBO» because on Saturday night, it’s opened ’til 9pm! Wha-what! Another bonus, it’s lcbo closest to my pad. :) In terms of purchasing alcohol, there’s not that many options, but if you gotta buy a wine for dinner or a gift for a client, why not shop at a clean, safe, location? In the past, I’ve asked for some recommendations and they could be a bit more helpful/train more experts on that end. Otherwise, it seems pretty well-staffed! One thing I must say that I do not like about this location is that there seems to be A LOT of solicitors out front. I’m assuming that these vendors have to ask LCBO for permission, but I wished that LCBO would just say, «NO», especially when the weather is warm, there are always kids outside peddling chocolate or raising money for their soccer teams. I’m going to buy alcohol to drink my cares away, not church! I’m kidding, but on a serious note, I don’t want to be bothered when I’m going with 1 purpose in mind!

I came here in a rush because I had a dinner party to go to and the host wanted a white wine instead of the red I had as a back up. I quickly popped in and was pleasantly surprised at the large selection of Niagara VQA wines here. I found everything from the large commercial Ontario wines to some of the smaller and ’boutique’ wineries. After picking up my wine, I headed towards the cashier where I noticed the line up to be incredibly long… it was at least 6 people deep on two cash. I figure I’d kill some time and walk about. This particular LCBO had some interesting wines from all different regions(Portugal, Australia, France…) and they seem to also carry a lot more international items that I don’t find in the LCBO near me. I found at least 12 different types of sake and 3 plum wines as well. That was pretty cool! They also have a large assortment of pre-chilled items so you can run in and be ready to serve for your dinner guests. After gazing at the large variety of liquor and wines, I headed back to the cashier where I saw the line up… again. Though it wasn’t 6 deep, at least 4 people were in each line. The cashiers were very very slow. I’m not sure if it was training day but it was noticeably painful. So great place to find a large assortment of liquor, sake, commercial brand stuff, and boutique items … just watch out for the painful ending of the LONG line ups.

This is the best LCBO I have ever been to. It’s really large and well stocked, well climate controlled, really clean, and the employees I have dealt with were very friendly and professional. My favorite LCBO. Period.
