Fairfield Inn & Suites Toronto Airport

My son, while visiting Toronto as a school thing, forgot his cell phone in a room. It was promptly picked up by the staff, packaged and they arranged it to be shipped to us. 48 hours later we have it. Of course we paid for Purolator but what is the value of dealing with honest people? GOOD WORK Gals.

Ok… so… the hotel is ok. It’s clean and my one encounter with the front desk staff was positive. However, the hotel is near Pearson… but not so near that you can walk safely. Thus, you are stuck paying $ 21 for a cab for a 2-​minute drive OR you can wait for the shuttle that appears at random (if at all when it’s nighttime).
The reason I give this hotel a 1-​star is because of the shuttle. The shuttles are simply white vans with basically no space (some sideways seating). They arrive on a whim and when they do arrive the driver will cram many people in as possible India style (in India on the buses they have shovers who push people inside until there is no space whatsoever… Japan too). So, for my shuttle ride the driver put 20+ people into a vehicle the size of a van with all their luggage on the floor… and then sped at breakneck speed towards the airport.
When people started to fall all over each other (no place to hold on) and trip over the luggage (which flew everywhere because it was unrestrained), I demanded he stop the shuttle so people could get out. I got out and walked the rest of the way to the airport. It was dangerous, broke all kinds of Canadian transportation laws, and people got hurt (I fell on some poor lady).
Why not simply invest in a proper shuttle and ditch the van? Marriott can certainly afford it.

This is one of the worst Marriott experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The only Pro to staying here is the reasonable rate we got online. And decent free Wifi in my room.
1) Curtain didn’t close all the way so there was a bright glare coming through in the early morning
2) TV remote was dirt as hell
3) Found very light linen stains. The sheets were not used but also did not smell «fresh»
4) Bed was rock hard. I’ve never stayed at a Motel 8 before, but I imagine that this would be the type of bed they have
5) breakfast is terrible. Out of half the breads and I got the last of the coffee. Creamer was not chilled. Sausage looked overcooked. And no make-​your-​own waffle like I’ve had at other Marriotts. I’m currently Unilocaling places to get breakfast around here.
When in Toronto, I’m never coming back here. You really get what you pay for.

The scene here is incredible. There is an elderly couple sitting across from me, dining on a fine repast of fine Canadian fare (ribs and fries). A lady security guard is cradling a chalice of cabernet like she’s sitting on the iron throne. The bartender is like is Tony Jaa had an ill urban haircut and worked in marketing during the day. The carpet, OMG THE CARPET.
The exterior of the building is an eye-​catching beige monument joining a family of similarly styled buildings in the otherwise empty outskirts of the Toronto airport. Truly an amazing location.
Today’s soup is a mushroom, according to a chalkboard. There is a highly naturalistic mural of red maple leaves reminding the patrons of the majestic kingdom they are in. Why would I want to be anywhere else? A family is sitting behind me eyeballing me threateningly, likely because I“m wearing a t shirt that is simply the American flag and Kermit the Frog shredding an axe in the style of Bruce Springsteen. Deal with it, nuclear Canadian family.
Someone just changed the TV from some NFL football to the International Curling championship. The bar is going bonkers.
You can find a lot of adventures unfurling around THE SIX, but I can’t think of a better collection than that I’ve found here at the 5pm-​7pm Happy Hour at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. NOT TO BE MISSED.

Pretty bad. Only stayed here because my crew and I arrived at Toronto airport at 1140pm on a Fri night and we were tired and this was one of few nearby locations with rooms available for 5 people.
The front desk check in man wasn’t very nice. I asked for a cup for the water jig they had available to guests and he seemed irritated and told me to go get one myself off the coffee stand in the other room.
The rooms were ok but 2 of my pillows had hairs on them (nnot mine as I hadn’t laid down yet) same with a few hairs in the tub around the edges. 1 of the toilet paper roll holders was broken. The beds are extra firm. I could feel every spring in the mattress pressing into me back and sides. Very uncomfortable.
Also they put 3 of us, myself included, directly beside the elevators which means none of us got any sleep due to the noise of them going up my down all night, plus the noise of every single person on our floor going past our rooms to use the elevators.
The view is of a parking lot. It’s quite bright and their blackout shades don’t quite meet in the middle so there’s a slit of very bright floodlights coming into the rooms right across the bed.
The complimentary breakfast was ok, mostly bread products ie toast danishes muffins. There was eggs and juice and cereal as well.
no breakfast attendant was around however so people were touching food w their bare hands and stuff it was really gross and unsanitary.
There were 2 female shuttle drivers who were very nice and helpful though.
Overall I would say this place is little better than a motel and is a last resort only useful because it’s so close to the airport.
Won’t be staying again.

I’m surprised with the bad reviews. I stay at a ton of different Marriott properties and this is definitely one of the better ones. Bar/​restaurant in the lobby is great. They have a good market selection and staff seems friendly. My room was perfect, everything in place and clean as can be. I like the lay out as well.
I will definitely make this my place to stay when flying into Toronto. Give this place a chance and you’ll be happy to did. Also stop in the bar and have a drink. Make sure Barry is working. Great bartender and host!

I stay at many fairfields. They usually are decent value and consistent.
Third time I have stayed at this one. Always find issues. This time:
1. Hair on floor in bathroom and carpet
2. Lousy cable connection and. Poor tv as most channels are fuzzy
3. Under staffed and overworked Kitxhen workers are slow, over whelmed and produce poor results.
4. Coffee out during morning breakfast!
Staying next door at Hilton gardens next time.

I’ve been here twice. The first experience was great, the second was okay. The rooms are spacious and I love the Jacuzzi in the king suite. The staff there are very friendly. The décor is nice as well. And it’s a good price! The continental breakfast has a decent selection. Cereal, eggs, fruit, pastries (my favourite!), bread/​toast, etc. Also a few different types of juice and of course tea and coffee. Also free WiFi which is nice, not all hotels have that!
It has a pool, fitness centre, etc. which I didn’t use either time. I had a jacuzzi in my room… no need to leave! Haha.
I’m also not sure why everyone was saying the blinds didn’t close. We closed ours. I can’t sleep with ANY light on at all, it has to be perfectly dark, and I was able to get to sleep. At first glance, I didn’t think you could close them, but we took an extra minute to actually look and it turns out you can.

If you want a cheap hotel next to the airport for an early morning flight or flying in super late and need to crash, this hotel is perfect for that. Don’t think I would stay beyond that because of it’s location and amenities.

They gave my better half & I a room with twin beds. When they switched us to a Queen, the new room key was only set for one night — effectively locking me out the next day.
Hotel was clean, room was nice: fridge, microwave, wifi. Continental breakfast had a nice selection if you were up early enough. They had a workout room, pool & hot tub — but they were not used by us.
I almost forgot — The drapes wouldn’t close completely! They lost one star for how annoying that was — we had to clip the blinds closed just to get to sleep.

Told my admin to get a decent hotel near the airport and this is what I got. Average Fairfield Inn that’s very close to the airport. Downside is that it’s industrial out there and there’s absolutely nothing to eat — we walked out to the Hilton that’s nearby to get something.
