Probably the only coffee shop in GTA with a working shower! Ideal combination for a weekend biker, or a runner looking for a little reward at the end of the run. It’s close to the Lakeshore. Located in a refurbished garage, by the Go train tracks. Super friendly, unpretentious, and a darn strong coffee — what really appeals to the European in me. The pastry selection is somewhat limited and you see the working area where the coffee beans are bagged, etc., but it’s clean, spacious and comfortable, the coffee is great, the owners are super nice and it must be really nice in the summer when the garage door is pulled up. Resume: This place has soul and I would happily recommend it to any coffee aficionado, a wi-fi hunter looking to kill some time, bikers, runners or a weekend lounger with an unfinished book.

Its an industrial unit with a roll up door in the middle of a residential area. This is the head office for the chain where they process paperwork and grind the coffee but also have a café with seating. In the summer its easy to find with the roll up door raised and seating visible from the street. In the winter its harder to notice, just walk up to the side door and the wonders of roasted coffee are exposed. At first we passed it several times then saw signs for the entrance, it felt like we were privy to a speak easy so it was really cool. Once we got in we noticed the space was very clean and well kept. Lavn was very friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable about the coffee. The coffee was very good and the environment completely blew me away with soft music, antique coffee equipment, and empty sacks of coffee beans hanging on the wall like art work. All and all this is the place to be if you are a coffee purist.

Headline: Possibly the only true hipster coffee shop in Mississauga… Why? –Located in a weird place? Check. –Unpretentious? It’s located in a garage — so duh, yeah! Check. –Casually dressed barista? Check –Own roaster? Check. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Anywho, ordered a latte. It’s definitely stronger than what I’m used to from other places, however I don’t see much of a difference between this place, Panera, Crema or Starbucks. So maybe 3.5÷5 for the coffee. However, they seemed to have very little snacks and food. All I saw was 3 muffins. Not 3 types of muffins, just 3 muffins. Period. 1.5÷5. Verdict: Good for the coffee lover, not the best as a wi-fi location, but can do the job for those who want to read and study in peace and quiet.

Ever since I visited their Lakeshore/Brownsline location, about a year ago, and I found out about their Mississauga location, I’ve been DYING to visit. Although my bad memory and their odd hours have prevented me from stopping by…’til yesterday! (According to another review, they’ve extended their hours from 7−2pm to 7−7pm which is great!) Location: If you drive by when it’s dark, you’ll MISS it! The café is hosted in a cement, industrial-sized garage/warehouse type building, literally right beside the train tracks. The area is a weird, «up ‘n coming» res area of Mississauga, called Lakeview. Sorta like a transitioning-Mimico. The lady who served us was very friendly in a hippy-dippy sorta way.(It’s nice to actually to be able to talk to someone about coffee, roasting, different options, rather than just quickly give someone your order and move down the line!) She served us a Misto and«Rich Bastard» dark roast which was surprisingly NOT smokey tasting, re: Starbucks. Really great, indie café, but too bad it’s in an area that I don’t frequent. :( I believe that they also have free wifi, but when I visited, there were no other patrons in the café. Plus, a train comes by every so often, so it does get loud. Warning: Lady did try ‘n «upsell» quite a few times by suggesting that I get a large — I declined, it’s HUGE! — and offering steamed milk… which she later charged me $ 1 for. SO keep that in mind if you’re a thrifty person like me!

Fair Grounds Organic Café & Roastery might just be a dream come true for a coffee nerd. Down to earth with zero pretence. Here at this café you won’t find fancy deco, people here with their laptops, nor super comfy seating. People here just have one thing in mind. amazing coffee! Just like someone garage. oh yes this is a garage?! With minimum deco but the best decoration is the coffee roaster. Here on their beans are roasted on site from organic fair trade coffee. How’s the coffee here?! Both the espresso and americano we ordered has great crema, full bodied and a delicate fruity taste… Love… Opens 7 am — 2 pm daily. A little out of the way. but definitely worth my while to come back here for that special cup of coffee. For real coffee nerd, please talk to the barista who is also the one that roasting all these beans.
