Pro Oil Change

I see some mixed reviews below however I have actually had nothing but positive experiences here. Granted i accept that it is not the cheapest solution around, however they are quick friendly and easy to work with. They do almost always provide options to upgrade and correct minor issues such as air filter, engine flush, coolant replacement, however I have never felt pressured into any decision. They will show you what they see, offer a solution, and leave the decision in your court. Again these minor fixes are above market price but you pay for convenience. For a quick and easy Oil change they are my go to solution.

This company is a rip off. I bought a Groupon for regular oil change. Took my car in for service, people there mentioned that air filter is bad too so I ask her to change it. They didn’t tell me the price for it ($ 36), Canadian Tire sells the air filter for $ 11 which can easily be replaced by anyone. She also told me that my passenger’s side turn signal bulb is not working either and she can replace it. When I got the bill, it was $ 94. I asked her why was it soo high, she said they replace 3 different bulbs including headlight bulb, which I never authorized. I called the headoffice of the company to file a complaint and left a detailed message with my contact information etc. But it’s been 3 weeks and no reply yet. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid this company. You can get the same work done by any mechanic for much cheaper cost.

It was that time again to get my oil change done, and for convenience sake I chose to go to Pro Oil Change in Milton as it was close to my house. I usually go to a small garage in Meadowvale where i get charge $ 40 without any trouble.
Anyways, I must say, Pro Oil Change is probably the most sneaky, unprofessional and a complete rip off!!!
When i got there, they greeted me nicely and asked what I’m there for. I told them i ONLY want an oil change, and that’s it, and that i have an expired Groupon that i want to redeem the amount I paid for ($ 18). They said OK, and told me it’ll be around 15 minutes and to wait in their waiting area.
They have a TV on, which i didn’t really pay attention to, but they also have water and coffee (i didn’t try either of them, but probably would never try it).
When they were done, I was called up to pay, and was absolutely amazed and shocked with disgust that my bill came to $ 80.54! Aside from the only thing i asked for, they charged me for a «Full Service» which included checking the whole car, brake fluid, power steering oil, transmission oil, lights (i swear i didn’t see them even check any of these…), topped off my washer fluid which i know was bogus because i just refilled it the day before. They checked many more things, that definitely couldn’t have been done in just a mere 15 minutes. This «Full Service» was $ 44.99. They lastly also included an additional «Disposal and Shop Supply» fee of $ 3.35.
I told the guy who worked there that I only asked for an Oil change, and he made an excuse that due to the mileage of my car (~62,000 km), i «needed» a full service. Really? They really need to advise the customer of potential serviced they can add, before adding it without consent. If i knew this from the beginning before it was too late, i would have taken my oil change elsewhere.
I kick myself in the behind for not being more assertive and demanding some sort of refund for this absurd service… i need to work on that.
What i can do however is warn any of you out there, to either be well prepared that this might happen to you. I strongly suggest to get your oil change done elsewhere.
