We first came a few years ago on a bike wine tour with some friends. I had an *awful* experience, so I was hesitant to return. Well, return I did, and during Cowichan Wine Festival. It was busy! They were serving their tastings on the front porch out of tiny medicine cups. Like shots. Who knows what the nose knows on those wines… but it was time to snack on our delicious crackers and cheese, so we bought a bottle. Can’t remember the varietal, but I think it may have been a Shining Armour Pinot Gris. It was the decent. The festival atmosphere was delightful, with a band playing on the patio, and fun people dancing. Hard to recommend a place given my first experience, but this one was A-OK.

Very friendly and informative folks working in the tasting room; all of the fun of drinking wine with none of the pretense. They pour several generous tastings, so you can try a wide variety of wines and compare different vintages. They also gave everyone some of their homemade rosemary jam to try, which was quite delicious.

Fun guys and good wine. I really liked the friendly atmosphere here. It felt like drinking wine at you buddies house. I recommend stopping by!
