I’ve been to Serissa before but only for take-out. The place was completely empty, different as most bubble tea places are quite full on a Friday night. They’re located in the Metro Square Plaza on the interior circle. A little hidden but with a bright orange sign and logo, easily found once you are in the parking lot. Drink: I enjoy the bbt as it has strong tea flavour with the sugar not overpowering the taste. I also enjoy the mixed tapioca that they use. I tried one of their signature bubble teas called«The Oz» which was a matcha based milk slush with pudding and topped with whip cream. It wasn’t overly sweet and I could taste the matcha quite well(which is what I look for in a good matcha drink). I would order it again. Food: They offer your typical Taiwanese/Hong Kong snacks such as sandwiches, thick toast(mixed varieties) and fried snacks(ie. popcorn chicken). We ordered the thick toast with butter. Unfortunately, they mixed up our order and gave us thick toast with cream cheese instead. We didn’t bother complaining about the mix-up. The toast was average, nothing to brag about. The atmosphere(despite being empty when we arrived) had a couple of visitors following. They have TVs displaying a slideshow of random landscapes, and music with pop music. It’s a smaller place but it was clean and nicely decorated; though a little bit dark for my preference. If you’re looking for a quiet place to just hang out with friends, I would suggest this place due to it’s general emptiness. Personally I will continue to do take-out since I like their bbt but I like the atmosphere of places like Green Grotto more.

Serissa is your typical bubbletea joint that offers decent bubbletea and snacks, but offers nothing new or amazing in that aspect. I go here when I’m near by the area, or when bubbletea joints like green grotto and chatime are full lol. Atmosphere is good, service is alright, and price-wise, it’s a bit more expensive than chatime, so that’s a drawback for me. Their bubbletea selection is not bad, but this place is basically like another teashop 168 lol, a bit boring and bland.

Milk tea with pudding was not as good as Chatime. Its hard to describe but I found the taste to be similar to brown sugar. Still a nice drink to have on a hot summers day. Also tried the hazelnut ice latte and once again I found that it had a brown sugar type of taste. Chatime was right across the street and I regret not going there instead.

I know the rage lately has been for Chatime but I can’t help but return to Serissa for the true taste of a bubble milk black tea. While they’re much less busy these days, the consistency in tea flavour and tapioca texture — just chewy enough, has never wavered. Ask them for specials too. While they don’t always mention them, they usually have some kind of promotion like free upgrades or buy one get one free on weekdays. And if you find yourself going there more often, don’t forget to get that loyalty card!

Serissa Café is the new bubble tea place located in Metro Square. My friends and I went after dim sum just to hang out. As opposed to Jennifer K.‘s review, they now have glass ware for people to use. They had free wifi for me to use, which was great. However, service was iffy. I wasn’t very happy with the waitress that was serving us there. I had myself the bubble iced latte, and we had shared the popcorn chicken. The«latte» wasn’t much of a latte, and it wasn’t that good either. I actually felt sleepier after drinking it too. Wasn’t very happy at all. Also, why the heck would you call it a «bubble iced latte» if they AREN’T going to put in tapioca for you?! Disappointing. Popcorn chicken was okay, but too expensive for the amount that you get, and it was ultra ultra ultra oily. I was pretty unimpressed by the quality of the bubble tea and the quality of the service there. Not happy.

I don’t understand why my drink was served in plastic takeout cup? Serissa Café really have the needs to get some glass wares, not just for the environment but the overall enjoyment for their stay in clients. WinterMelon Favoured Green tea($ 4.50) was A-OK, a tad on the sweet side, I might have to ask for half syrup next time! Why no comfy sofa seatings? Why it set up like a HK style Café? Same old set up as the previous tea place at this location! Free Wifi and I found electric outlets underneath my seat :), a little pricey drinks than Starbucks but a lot quieter, am I in the library?

New 3rd location for Serissa Cate(Tea & Coffee). New that no Wifi password is needed yet. New that you can count their Magazines with 2 hands. New, needs time to grow Magazine collection. Décor, Music is nice same mood as other 2 spots. Tables/Chairs kind of snooze out-of-place wood boring. CHILL
