Ms. Shariff focuses her practice almost exclusively on family law and has extensive experience negotiating and drafting separation agreements, appearing successfully before various levels of court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and negotiating settlements at mediation and counsel meetings.

History

Established in 1989.

Operating since 1989, Still McCalmont Long is one of the premier litigation firms in the Markham area. We are presently five experienced trial lawyers who practice principally in the matrimonial litigation field, although some lawyers also have criminal, civil, commercial and estates experience. Between the five lawyers we have over 50 years of experience.

We know enough about advocacy to know that each case requires a unique approach. Our goal is that when the case is over and the file is closed, we know that we have provided our clients with the best representation possible in all the circumstances. This may mean mediating a resolution, perusing stacks of accounting records to unearth damning evidence against the other side, or going toe to toe with the most ferocious counsel the region has to offer.

Romaana received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies and Development Studies, from Queen’s University. Her desire to live in Europe took her abroad to study law at Queen Mary, University of London, where she received her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2010. She has worked at Still McCalmont Long since 2010. Upon the successful completion of her Canadian Accreditation Examinations, Romaana commenced her articles with Still McCalmont Long and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013.

Romaana enjoys working in areas of family law, civil litigation, and the preparation of wills and powers of attorney. She has a broad family law practice with experience in all matters of divorce and separation, including custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, collaborative family law and litigation and alternative dispute resolution/​mediation. Romaana is a personable and solution-​oriented lawyer who believes in fostering a positive solicitor-​client relationship
