I went in this Apple Store with a catastrophe. My hard drive had failed and I needed some important documents I had worked on after my backup.
and thanks to EMPLOYEE DEV who definitely deserves a promotion
I was able to get my data recovered and OS installed for free. He worked on my computer for 1.5 hours despite numerous failures and kept trying and providing reasonable suggestions. He was very knowledgeable about products and was very eloquent and elaborate with everything.
This star is going to put this Apple Store back in the good books.

This Apple Store has the worst service out of all the others in the GTA. There’s not enough staff and the staff that are there are extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Some will actually walk away from you when they see you have a question for them.

I was thrilled to learn that Markham finally got an Apple store at Markville. This location is on the second floor, above Zara, by the Old Navy entrance.
I have been here twice to visit the Genius Bar. The first time was in April 2015. The touchscreen on my iPhone 5 popped out of my phone. I could not reseat it. I booked an appointment online. Getting me to sit at the Genius Bar was smooth.
The Apple technician advised that it would be $ 150 to replace the screen. My 2.5-year-old phone had half a year left before I could get a new phone. I decided to say yes to the screen replacement. I was advised to return to the store in an hour.
I shopped. I sipped a beverage at Starbucks across from the Apple Store. I came back.
The technician had to go back into the tech room and check on my phone’s status. It turned out that there was a battery defect with my phone. Although my iPhone was out of warranty, Apple had no choice but to give me a brand new iPhone 5 with the same 64 GB capacity. I was thrilled. It was my lucky day!
Today, I had to revisit the store. I had upgraded my five-​year-​old Mac mini to the new El Capitan operating system. After completing the upgrade, booting up my computer only showed the Apple logo and a progress bar that never budged. I went to the store and was advised that it was a library file issue.
I had to back up some of my files. Luckily, my music and photos are on an external hard drive. The technician, Peter, was friendly and had a great sense of humour. He helped me wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall the operating system from scratch. My Mac mini works again. Yay!
I have had nothing but great experiences from this store. It’s so nice to have a local Apple store, instead of visiting on in Scarborough, Toronto, or Newmarket.

I find this store is normally not as crowded as the Eaton Centre and Fairview Mall locations. I’ve always had a great customer service experience at all three of these locations. I love how iBeacons speeds the checkout process using an iPhone. All the staff I’ve worked with are very friendly and knowledgeable. I always know exactly what I want before I enter the store and the staff always helps me to get in and out quickly. I highly recommend this location especially for people in the Durham region.

I bought an iPhone 6 for my mom, but her switching from her Samsung Galaxy S3 required a brand new nano-​sim that wasn’t provided in the online order. So I dropped by this particular store on the way to my dental appointment and asked for a nano-​sim. This particular employee will only give the nano-​sim if I brought the phone for them to set it up. At this point, I thought to myself why would I need someone to transfer my number to a new sim and pop it into the phone when I can do it myself.
I rather do it myself and asked how much for the SIM. His reply was «no, we don’t sell or give them out unless you let us set it up for you.» You should’ve seen his coworker beside him who had a look of disgust when he made that comment. This entire time he never made eye contact with me either which I felt was rude for someone working front store.
Whatever, I don’t keep grudges, so I trekked along to the Rogers store in the same mall and was ready to pony up the $ 10 – 20 or so for a nano-​sim when the employee tossed it to me for free.
It was a good day not wasted. I happened to be at Fairview Mall later in the day. I already had my sim, but wanted to see if Markham’s Apple’s stinginess was exclusive to that store. The staff member there offered me the sim free without any conditions. Now I know where to shop if I ever need anything Apple-​related.

Came here on a whim and decided to take a look at some of the iWatches in person after hearing so much about it online, etc. After a couple of minutes of playing side-​by-​side with one of them, a representative by the name Vee came by to let me know of all its features and asked if I was interested in booking an appointment to try on a watch ~ trying to entice me into potentially purchasing a watch I guess is the ideal goal in the end and thankfully I wasn’t really interested in buying one to begin with so it was easy for me to say ‘No.’ Overall I thought the rep was consistent, knowledgeable and enthusiastically friendly. If everyone’s service was consistent within this store I guess there’d be more of my votes than the one-​star-​ers.

I have visited many Apple Store before and none has been this bad. This is also made worst considering how wonderful my last Apple Store experience was.
I originally came here because I saw that they had an iPhone Photography workshop on Friday and I wanted to check it out. It started at 5pm but I showed up about five minutes later, I could have figured where they were but I was not greeted by a staff. I lurched around the workshop for a bit, and it looked like things I already knew, so I wandered off elsewhere in the store as I am due to replace my iPad and iPod. After looking at iPods for 20 minutes, still no one approached me.
I also noticed some of the staff yelling at each other from across the store.
Not sure what’s going on here, but it doesn’t look like this is their only one star review.

For the past few years, I’ve considered the Apple Store to be akin to the seventh layer of hell (
). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been an avid Apple user for about 15 years, where I’ve enjoyed computers, phones and one Apple TV.
My phone wasn’t working properly, but it was still under warranty, so I made an appointment and brought it in. I spoke to three different staff members, who were all genuinely sad that my phone wasn’t working properly and really made me feel taken care of. I walked out with a brand new replacement phone in about 30 minutes.
They did customer service well. The greeted me right away and told me where to sit down (I hate waiting around, not knowing what to do). A guy came and took my information and went to get another guy, who then actually read that information and addressed my issue. I wasn’t alone for more than 10 minutes at a time. I always knew what was going on with my issue. And they fixed my problem with a smile.
So maybe I’ll call off my forever ban of the Apple Store, though I likely will continue buying their products online (or on kijiji)
The only reason I took one star off is that their product quality has gone down in recent years. Computers are crashing, their phone can be pretty buggy, and battery life on all their products just isn’t that great.

Ive had a number of bad experiences at this location. Employees and managers have no clue about the products, services nor do they know how to provide good customer service. This store is the complete opposite of my good experiences at the Fairview Mall, Yorkdale Apple Stores. I thought at first my bad experiences were due to this being a newer store. Now its been well over a year since this store first opened and nothing has changed. I also thought at first that maybe I just caught someone on a bad day. I was wrong, pretty much all the employees are the same, they just dont care and you dont even feel like your in an apple store. The other Apple Stores in the GTA are much better. If you have an issue with an employee dont expect one of the inexperienced managers to care or make things better. Stay away from this store at all costs, you will thank me later.

If I could give them less than one star I would.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, I would give them a negative one million for customer service. There are a ton of blue shirt wearing staff standing around that are just «too busy» to actually deal with customers at all.
Manager’s T. J and Danny are essentially useless and could not care less about providing any customer service at all, good luck getting them to call you back.
I would advise customers to steer clear of this store unless you have the patience of a saint.

I wanted to share my displeasure with Apple Store of Markville mall. If you have an issue with your apple since you might choose any other store beside this particular one. I had purchases iPhone recently and for past few days I was experiencing some issues with my screen. I decided to visit Apple Store close to me. First of of all my appointment was at 1220 and I checked in 10 minutes before. It took about 30 minutes for GENIUS to come and help me. Guy did not want to listen to me at all and what I’ve said he said it’s not possible and he does not believe me…(really? You spent 1000 $ and you came with an issue to lie?) I asked to speak with store manager and person did not even greet me (what a great service, thank you Apple, will send you some Christmas card). After all I felt I’m a little kid trying to get some free stuff, common people spent hundreds and thousands of dollars for your products and you do not care?! I will give ab example I’m a business user and I used to have blackberry before I swapped to iPhone, when I had an issue I called rim and they sent me phone next business day without even looking at it. I sent old phone back, no issues no hard time. I think Apple has to learn how to keep business clients happy. Good luck!

„Oh, you should’ve told me that before I asked her!“

Shows him her driver’s license…
„It’s not in the system“
„Impossible, could you check based on her email address?“

Gave her my wife’s name.
Pulled up the scheduler on her idiotPad and right there even I could see her name on the scheduler for the time that we showed up!
Conclusion: If my ass ever needs a job I would recommend it to try the Apple Store, it would totally be overqualified! At least it would fart and tell you it stinks like shit, properly.

I had two different problems, two different days and both of them solved by this recently built Apple store located in Markville Shopping Centre.
The mall is usually filled with parking, so I choose to park further away instead of looking for a parking spot forever.
My first problem was when I had an iPhone that kept shutting off whenever I FaceTime’d anyone — I called Apple and they told me to bring it to a local Apple store. I chose Markville, everything was set up. It took about 15 minutes to 30 minutes but my iPhone was swapped out, they gave me a brand new one and I was on my way. I left happy and satisfied.
The second issue was my brother broke his USB cable, the lightning adapter and needed it replaced. I went in and the employees quickly directed me to the «genius bar,» other apple staff kept checking to make sure everything was alright. Soon, a guy comes out with an iPad and tells me to type my serial number in and sign. They gave me a new lightning adapter and that was it. Within 5 minutes.
Service was quick and they were attentative.

Brand new Apple Store in Markville Mall!
I can’t even believe my eyes. The store is huge, spacious and have every Apple products and accessories that I ever need.
Since it is new and during summer break, a lot of students were here playing with all the demo units. There were enough staff on the floor but they all seemed to be busy with something?!
I can see my Apple fanatic Unilocal friend coming here for his batteries and other accessories…
And I just can drop by and play with the latest MacBook whenever I feel like!
