Excellent phở with a generous portion of beef. I enjoy it often and it ever disappoints.

This was one of the worst viet restaurants I’ve been to in Maple Ridge. It started off with a hi and just seat yourself anywhere arrangement. Once we sat down, she literally threw two menus at our table without saying a word and we were a group of three! There was only two other ppl in the restaurant at the time, so quite sure there were many other menus elsewhere. Selection was okay and so was the pricing. Pretty avrg btwn 8 – 13 $ depending how extensive the dish was. On this hot day, we all ordered 42 or 44 which were rice dishes with grilled meat. Rice was very dry, meat was good and the egg was overcooked. The meat was grilled nicely but very thin compared to other places I’ve been to. Also, some of the walls had wallpaper and paint chipped off. I’d be careful if bringing a child because they might have the tendency to play with the broken paint on the wall. Still can’t forget how terrible the service was! She was too busy sitting around by the cashier and gave a very bitchy attitude to my parents and I. Made sure not to tip! Im vietnamese myself and overall astonished about how this place managed to stay open all these years!

Was driving by and thought why not. We were not disappointed that we did. Actually we were pleasantly surprised at the quality if the food and the price point was perfect. We tried both rolls, spring and fried yum. We had one beef phở and one chicken with noodles, both were excellent. The quality of the meat was better than I have had in other places. No alcohol but they do take cards… something we have found not all phở places do.

In terms of space, it’s huge compared to their locations in Surrey. Also like how the centre is on a raised platform. Food’s not as good as the King George, but in this area, authenticity is crucial here ;) Lots of parking. Great location off the main road, on the right side too.

I was gonna bring my parents to tamarind phở in surrey but they were closed! They are suppose to be open till 9pm Tuesday! We were there at 6:30pm! So we went to phở tau bay in maple ridge instead. We have been there before when it was a Japanese restaurant with a different name. Décor is nice, very clean, lots of space. Service was speedy, food came pretty fast! We ordered the beef stew noodle and no.1 house special noodle soup. The beef stew was one of the best ones I have had in lower Mainland and I have been to TONS of Vietnamese restaurants. Lots of beef and it was really tender! Price was decent, maybe 50 cents higher than Phở Hoa but the quality and taste was worth it! Came in a smaller bowl but it was more filling than other places. We will definitely come back for more! We used to goto phở Hoa in Coquitlam for phở, since the only other one on dewdney trunk sucks. Our new phở place in maple ridge rocks!
